The mindset and the consciousness of African Americans must evolve. We’re consumers, but we don’t create anything! We don’t have life insurance, but we must drive a Lexus. We don’t own stocks, but we have every sneaker that comes out! We’re enslaved by “brands” not building a legacy that can be passed on to future generations.

And to add, there isn’t a sense of “community” that gives back there. There’s a strange exclusive, snobby, and fearful entitlement if you asked me. I truly believe that if your grandparents created a way in the 60s and 70s in this city. The generations were better off. My grandfather was a brick mason. And he had handshake deals with a lot of city developers. And build many of manholes and other brick structures all around the city. Raised all his children in the city. And to still stays in Capital View community. So I believe it starts with the generations before us. If they didn’t pave a way for us. Then those in the city who you see in poverty and blight weren’t shown the way. I grew up in Oakland City. My sister still stays in Venetian Hills. It’s about ownership like Tyler Perry said. If the citizens of Atlanta don’t own the houses that they stay in. Their going to feel lefted out. Financial Literacy is the key. People have got to stop following the cheese. Families have got to together and create something for themselves. And then go from there. If no one has vision around you. That’s how far your going. But if you have vision on where your going. We need well diversified, legal opportunities to make livable wages and generate wealth, for all black people regardless of socioeconomic status. This can help us own property, buy appreciating assets, save money for ourselves and for our descendants. You will always have an impoverished, middle, and upper class of every race. We are also a minority, there are more hispanics than blacks in the U.S. So I think focusing on being on top is a waste of time, since that is impossible. Imagine having 10 friends going against a group of 100 bullies. There will always be racism, we will keep complaining and "they" will deny it and there is nothing we can do about it. Which are, you guessed it, mostly black. If it were predominantly white there wouldn’t be anywhere near the amount of issues there are. I was born in Atlanta, lived in midtown most of my life and just now had to move to Vinnings because of the virus constantly plaguing the city. Even now I know buckhead is going to either become a new epicenter for the the blacks or continue to stay predominantly white but we must gentrify the areas like college park or Bankhead to prevent these “people” from ruining another city in America.

If they would not litter their streets, if they would only mow their lawns, pick up their trash, do some maintenance in their houses, did less drugs and less crimes, change the mindset that always blames somebody else for their fate and always expect someone or government to help, their lives would improve a lot. Greetings from Brazil.

Now I am pretty old, but I remember my first black friend in highschool. After becoming friends with me, he also hung out with a lot of Asians. He had no idea how to get into top colleges, and that top schools actually require more than SAT and high gpa (sat2 and ap exams). Every day we would urge him to study after school. We shared SAT books, went to cafe, and studied together. At first, he was not used to the environment, but he ended up getting extremely high score and went to great school. Now he is well off. Just sayin, I was over here 10 yrs younger than some of these lazy coworker, back in the day, and encouraging them to go back to school but all they wanted to do was get high/party and call out of work while I was taking a 2-3 hr morning class, then straight to a 10hrs shift (bc I need that OT), and then went straight to writing research papers after getting home by 10pm. I grew up in the same elements and the dif between me and my peers was that I've always thought to myself that I need to git up outta here! Geat comments again! Not going to believe this, in 1939 THE NEGR0 PROJECT was founded to lower the Black population in America.
It worked! 38% of Black pregnancies are terminated, over 50% in NYC! About 80% of Black women are overweight, least likely to marry, most in debt and 78% of their children have no Dad.
      1854 founded to STOP SLAVERY?
      Republican Party
      1860 founded to KEEP SLAVERY?
      Democrat Party
Republicans literally beat the Democrats in the Civil War in 1865.
THE NEGR0 PROJECT is now called Planned Parenthood. Check this information, it's true.
