    i listen to music, not genres, so i still like Darkest Hour. Definitely diferent than the previous albums but it is still well played and still sounds tight. Also.. how can you not amazed by this song's solo?

      I agree.....though this album is different it is still amazing.....people are bitching about kris not being in the band but Lonestar shreds as a guitarist.....as evidenced by this solo. Jon's singing is also awesome.

    • @BOTCHED
      @BOTCHED 10 лет назад

      People always cry about how Kris isn't in the band but the dude could never play his own solo's live. Go and look back at any Darkest Hour live video with him in the band and it's painful to listen to. Lonestar does a damn good job, and he can play everything he writes live!

      Yeah i do not get it!!! The album can do without some of the cleans but besides that the intensity is still as good as ever. The guitarists did a great job writing their own parts and the drummer killed it ! They have some of the best leads on here since Deliver Us. I think this is far better than the last 2 albums. The Eternal return had no progression or direction. The Human Romance was ok but played safely.

    Thing is you can bitch all you want, but a lot of people still dig this, this is Darkest Hour's Reroute to Remain, which means it's modern and it's a grower..
    And by the way we would all BEG In Flames to return to at least that album compared to the shit they've become wouldn't we?

    Sorry they chose to do music for their fans and not for themsleves after this album,because this one was a great turn and good evolution in their discography.

    THIS should be played in the radio instead of all the hiphop bullshit. This whole album is full of dangerously catchy songs. The music is great, the singing is awesome and the lyrics have good meanings behind them. Well done, Darkest Hour.

    as a fan for the last 13 years I've gotta be honest - they simmered down. now, it's still an infallible album, and regardless of band members changing - it still is pretty good... not as raw and heavy as i'd like.. and not enough screaming as i'd like... but that's a personal preference. keep bashing, it'll make them realize it isn't hard enough, or should you like it - GIVE THEM YOUR MONEY.

      Don't worry, 3-Years-Ago-RandeezyFoSheezy, in the near future, they'll put out another screamer!!

    Kris studied swedish death metal abroad so yeah that gave DH a European metal sound but i think lone star's playing gives DH a more american metal sound which opens up a lot of playing and musical options for the band, and besides lone star is bad ass!

    • @edhance6354
      @edhance6354 9 лет назад

      Listen to the Human Romance dude. That album is riddled with At The Gates/old In Flames inspired music and lonestar was on it.

    • @jopax66
      @jopax66 9 лет назад

      Ed Hance Yea I know he's awesome on that album, but i am speaking in terms of what might have influenced them the most, I think at one time lone star was the band's guitar tech who learn a lot of there music and style, then when Kris left he landed the gig.

    • @edhance9753
      @edhance9753 9 лет назад

      Judas Rising Ah i see. I will agree this album has more of a American sound but Lonestar is capable of maintaining a euro sound.

  • @edhance6354
    @edhance6354 10 лет назад +1

    This is good. It'll take some getting used to but at least it still sounds like Darkest Hour. If they had to go radio friendly this is how id like it. At least they're not pulling a Trivium or an All that Remains, becoming so bland and uninteresting it doesn't even sound like them. I feel that Darkest Hour could use the cleans in more interesting ways but it's far from bad. And that post solo bridge.... it's amazing.
    The opening of this song reminds me of The Killers, and I like The Killers.

    I like how everybody is trying to justify the quality of the album to those that don't enjoy it. How could you expect all fans of older DH stuff to just enjoy this? This is so largely different from their previous sound that I'm surprised any DH fans enjoy it. That said, if you like it, great for you and for DH, every piece of music has a purpose and an audience. Not a fan, though, I'm gonna bump some Deliver Us...

  • @fearofglue
    @fearofglue 10 лет назад +5

    Not really impressed. Kinda bums me out that they change their sound just to support metalcore fans. When I saw them on Summer Slaughter, they fit right in because they HAD a death metal edge. Like they used to. Not saying this is bad but very disappointed.

      he man I know.... I've been a fan romantic the beginning, it's the album labels that make them do his just wait for their next album it's crowd funded so I'm sure it will go back to sadist nation shit but better sounding. if not God help us all

    • @Killeroffloggers
      @Killeroffloggers 4 года назад +1

      DH lost his label after "this" and they hade make a campaign to help pay for their next album. Not always this kind of mainstream commercial efforts works..... Now for good (and for his true fans) they just come back with her own (many) sounds. Not this shitty flower sparkly don't fucking know what is it hahaha.
