I am glad that the first we get to see from Darkest Hour on Sumerian is a cover of Florance + The Machine. And a good cover at that. Mind you the quality of the song is kind of a step back to Sadist Nation (some would say a plus; I'm just not feeling it) and the cleans are REALLY something that pushing my comfort zone but they still killed this song! Good on you boys! Can't wait to see what's next :)
If you say darkest hour sucks, just go listen to the Deliver us album then talk! Cause that album, guitar, structure and tone wise is just so on point!

I have to agree with everyone else. This production sounds horrible and really hope this is just present here on RUclips. I hope this isn't the finalized product on this track. I couldn't even finish listening to the song, which is a shame.

Actually you seem to not know what you're talking about. Darkest hour is as far from metalcore they can come. Just because Joh Henry wants to apply clean vocals does not instantly change the metal they play to metal core.
They would also have to add breakdowns which is nowhere to be found in this, as well be less melodicity overall.
Also. Parkway Driver, August burns red just some examples of non clean metalcore. Because it's not the vocals but the playstyle, which Darkest hour never come close to.

Everyone has different opinions when it comes to metal subgenres. You and I are no different. Im still a fan of Darkest Hour, maybe not their new stuff but their old. This song is catchy, slow then fast, soft and loud. My definition of metalcore. Im aware of some bands that do too much breakdowns but that's not what I consider metalcore.
Fix up that sidechain on the kick, and I'd add to favourites. Otherwise, I had a blast listening to this. The production value need to be met Sumerian, you did not meet it.

metal Ceremonials was a nice idea, but its disturbing how far the vocalists are from Florence.
Love Darkest Hour and Florence. But the metal covers of Florence + The Machine sound really out of place. Darkest Hour did this really tastefully though
