A semla is a classic Swedish pastry eaten on Fat Tuesday which is on February 25th this year. It's basically a sweetened fluffy bun with cardamom, an almond filling, whipped cream and dusted with powdered sugar.

Wow this is such a beautiful video! You really make baking seem like the beautiful art that it is. I'm a US citizen and heard of semlor for the first time ever just recently and I'm so excited to try it and see what all you Swedes love so much every year! I have no doubt this recipe will make an amazing product.
I love that you say "every year" = makes it clear that you know we have a national holiday devoted to this masterpiece of a dessert. :) I had semlor my entire childhood, but only ever really once a year, and cafes don't really serve it the rest of the year (unless they're disobedient cafes 😉 ), but then on Semmeldagen everyone goes crazy. Incidentally tomorrow, at the writing of this comment. 💗💗💗

50 grams fresh yeast is 14 grams dried yeast.

by what can cardamom be replaced if we don't have it at home?
There really is no replacement for cardamom in these, it is what makes it a semla! Of course you could make it without but it would be quite bland. And sorry for the suuper late response :-)

Flaky salt and normal salt will end up the same once dissolved. It's just slightly less amount in the spoon with flaky, as it doesn't compact as well.
Of course, it has nothing to do with flavor. Only the amount!
