Monday August 5 2024 at 8.49 and 8.59. The 7.41 Leicester to Grimsby (10.37) train then, from the other side, the 7.05 Crewe to Newark Castle and the 8.40 Newark Castle to Crewe (10.58) trains. Came here in 2014 when the road had just been resurfaced after the crossing had subsided causing a train to derail. It still seems to be quite flat. The former crossing keeper's house has had one of the most attractive renovations. The small windows keep the noise out. Amazing how vastly different such homes can be. Having 2 illuminated "Park Here And Use Phone At Crossing" signs seems a waste. Wonder how much they have cost over the last 10 years.
