I feel like Rick got a lot of flack for openly hating the PJO movies after the show came out, but I totally agree with his criticisms. All of the characters were age-up and hypersexualized in what was SUPPOSED to be an inclusive story about his son's ADHD and dyslexia and an homage to Greek mythology.
producers:"lets derail the entire plot and make the movie unenjoyable!"
also producers:"why does nobody like the movie?????"
And in the second film annabeth is a damsel in distress! 😂😂😂
Saw this in a video somewhere, but if you age up 12 year old characters and still put them in situations where they have to respond like pre-teens, it doesn't benefit the story. It just ends up making your characters look unusually immature or unrealistic. Say what you will about the show, but Percy, Annabeth, and Grover still act like kids.
This video made me feel so grateful for the TV show! I can’t believe after all this time we finally got a good PJO adaptation and I just know future seasons are gonna be even better than season one!!
Amen!!
Funny to see the stuff he likes was kept 😅 the stuff he disliked wasn't changed. It's like cool we will keep that stuff and you know eh forget the rest of the advice. Now dont get me wrong I like the movies but enjoy the series more.
One funny thing about the Luke betray in the show (for me) was: Even tho I knew he was/is the villain, even I got surprised at the turn of events. I mean I have read the books a dozent times, know the story fairly well yet I was jaw-dropped at the ending. Charlie Bushnell's acrting was fenominal.😅
pls I need u to read and react to the script I really like how u dissect and talk abt percy jackson
this
I agree with what your saying and I’m surprised that I didn’t even realise their was a movie until I finished hero’s of Olympus and your I love your Percy Jackson videos cam and can’t wait for the pjo funko pops.
24:02: They mention Kronos at the MET museum. Chiron is teaching the kids and we cut to an archaeological piece showing Kronos eating his children

2010: We've got two terrible movie adaptations from two of the most beloved fantasy series that were both released in 2005, even the creators themselves (Uncle Rick and Bryke) hate these movies
2023/2024: We've got a two not perfect but good adaptations TV-Shows, that's better than the previous movies
forgive me if my english is bad, I really like novels and I really like novels by Percy Jackson since I started middle school and was allowed to hold a smartphone and now I'm in college, I read novels on wattpad, read fanfic versions, PDF versions of novels and the whole I can finish the series in a day or two if I have other activities, even because I often ask my close friends in high school about the availability of novels at the Gramedia bookstore. whose parents were quite rich, he bought the book the next time he visited the bookstore. and showed it and wanted to lend it to me, but because I felt bad, I didn't keep it for long. To be honest, I actually watched the first Percy Jackson film a long time ago, but at that time I didn't know that the film was an adaptation of a Percy Jackson novel and at that time I don't think I knew it either. . . Novels, I also never had time to watch them because every time a film was shown there was always something that forced me to come out and I couldn't refuse it, like being told to go to the market with my sister or being told to go to the market. leave. went to the supermarket, I finally found out that this film was an adaptation of a Percy Jackson novel at that time after I read the novel many times and suddenly it occurred to me that maybe there was a film adaptation and I remembered again what it felt like there was. I've seen it. After I searched, it turned out there was one and it was my favorite after Agent Cody Banks. Honestly, as a loyal reader of the novel, I felt that the first film, which was said to be bad, was actually not bad at all. In fact, I think from this film I got a Percy Jackson feeling. whose brain is crazy, the way he moves and behaves during seasons 1 & 2 feels quite natural and not artificial. ...the one who plays Percy Jackson is my favorite😭 Logan isn't his real name? Annabeth? he has blonde hair. If you really want to do a serious makeover, wouldn't it be better to adapt it to the new film? In fact, the people playing Percy and Annabeth seemed confused. We all know that Percy is more typical with black hair, ocean eyes, Annabeth, curly blonde hair and burnt skin and gray eyes, and don't forget Grover's beard, the new film forgets Grover's beard 😭, maybe in the past the storyline has changed but it provides a definite impression on the players who play Percy... if that's true, they should intend to look for players who can compete with the old players, as a long-time reader of Percy's novels, I still use image references in the novels to this day. This is Percy based on the picture in the novel combined with an old film which he said was bad because I think it's not bad.
Ironically the those terrible movies are more entertaining then the entirety of this bland show that Rick tried glazing beyond measure.
Rick clearly never took a course in screen-writing. Awfully done in the show. Literally cut-to-black every interesting moment than explain it away with the most clunky, boring exposition imaginable.
Great Video cam
