Definitely the album I listen to most in their discography and I love all of their albums. Becoming the Dragon, To the Rats and And Sadness Will Sear are some of my favorite Trivium songs.
From a die hard trivium hard, we hated it because it was the album after ascendancy lol. It was way too drastic of a change for just being the very next album. I like it Now in my age though. Solid album for sure.
I'll be real with y'all: I don't understand the problem with In Waves. Sure, I understand that it's not the greatest album ever and I get where most of the criticism is coming from, but there isn't a single Trivium album I care about more than this one. It's got heavy ass songs (Inception of the End, Dusk Dismantled, Chaos Reigns) while also having genuinely great songwriting (Caustic are the Ties that Bind). I don't know, maybe I'm biased because In Waves has just meant so much to me personally, but I feel it needs more credit. Past that, Shogun and TSATS are incredible.
Brandon Bush bc the songwriting just wasn’t quite up to par as much as ascendency. That is just me. I don’t hate the album. I don’t think it is that bad. It just doesn’t hold up to their earlier releases.

As a huge thrash metal fan The Crusade and Shogun are my favorite albums by them, i guess the metalcore fans that are from ascendancy didnt like there thrash style. I think Ember To Inferno is more of a melodic death metal album
Ascendancy is always going to be their peak effort, imo. Shogun is my third, it’s brilliant but it’s more thrash orientated, whereas Ascendancy is melodic metalcore. I kind of look at them in different levels, same band or not. Ember to Inferno- 7 (Favourite track: Pillar of Serpents) Ascendancy- 10 (Favourite track: Rain, Pull Harder on the Strings of Your Martyr, The Deceived, Declaration, Departure) The Crusade- 8.5 (Favourite track: Unrepentant, Entrance to the Conflagration, We Are the Fire) Shogun- 8.5 (Favourite track: Down From the Sky) In Waves- 8.5 (Favourite track: In Waves, Forsake Not the Dream) Vengeance Falls- 6 (Favourite Track: Strife, Brave this Storm) Silence in the Snow- 6.5/7 (Favourite track: Until the World Goes Cold) The Sin And the Sentence- 9 (Favourite track: The Sin and the Sentence, The Heart From Your Hate, The Revanchist, Thrown Into the Fire)

God as a decade long trivim fan this is hard . But 8. Vengeance Falls 7. Silence in the snow 6. Ember to inferno 5. The Crusade 4. In Waves 3. The Sin and the sentence 2. Shogun 1. Ascendancy
Mine's gotta be 1. Shogun 2. The Sin and The Sentence 3. In Waves 4. Vengeance Falls 5. Silence in the Snow 6. Ember to Inferno 7. Ascendancy 8. The Crusade
1. Ember to Inferno 2. Ascendancy 3. Shogun 4. In Waves 5. The Sin And The Sentence 6. The Crusade 7. What The Dead Men Say (I wasn't too big on it) 8. Vengeance Falls 9. Silence In The Snow I prefer the heavier/older Trivium

Glad to see The Crusade getting some love. That's the album that got me into metal when I was like 14. I'm mostly a fan of the Ascendancy-The Crusade-Shogun era of Trivium - those three albums are the most they've made with the same lineup.
First off, I love all of Trivium's albums and there's not one song that I don't like but am I the only one that thinks their bonus tracks are some of their best songs!? Vengeance, Poison, the Knife or the Noose, Upon the Shores, Shattering the Skies Above, As I Am Exploding, Cease All Your Fire, The Darkness of My Mind and Pillars of Serpents (2019) are some of my favorites!
Trivium is a band I really adore, being my second Fav band behind Alter Bridge. 1. The Sin and the Sentence 2. Shogun 3. The Crusade 4. Ascendancy 5. Ember to Inferno 6. In Waves 7. Vengeance Falls 8. Silence in the Snow
I am very surprised that Silence in the Snow wasn’t at 8, and even more surprised the Crusade was 1. The Crusade I believe is one of the most misunderstood albums in all of metal. I absolutely love it. I think it helped put them in a position where fans of Dream Theater, Iron Maiden, Lamb of God, Slipknot, and so many other different “styles” could appreciate them. And even though it was polarizing, I do agree with you that the album helped keep them at the peak of interest for a long time. Especially when Shogun hit and was an overwhelming success.
1. Shogun(come on its a masterpiece) 2. The Sin and the Sentence 3. The Crusades 4. Ascendancy 5. Ember to Inferno 6. In Waves 7. Silence in the Snow 8. Vengeance Falls
My ranking of Trivium records from BEST to WORST: 1. Shogun (10/10) 2. Ascendancy (9/10) 3. The Sin and the Sentence (9/10) 4. In Waves (8/10) 5. Ember to Inferno (7/10) 6. The Crusade (7/10) 7. Vengeance Falls (6/10) 8. Silence in the Snow (5/10)
1.shogun 2.the crusade 3.ascendancy 4.silence in the snow 5.the sin and the sentence 6.in waves 7.ember to inferno 8.vengeance falls Where my crusade fans at
My personal list goes 1: The Sin and the Sentence 2: Shogun 3: Vengeance Falls 4: In Waves 5: The Crusade 6: Ascendancy 7: Ember to Inferno 8: Silence in the Snow
I like this ranking for the most part but don’t think Crusade is #1 for me but I like your reasoning behind why you put it there. Do you plan on reviewing BB’s Ember? Great Alt Metal album
Solid rank! I'd honestly put In Waves at the bottom. Still a good album, but not a whole lot of tracks I go back to though! Shogun is my favorite Trivium album!
1. Vengeance falls 2. Shogun 3. The crusade 4. Ascendancy 5. Sin and the sentence 6. In waves 7. Ember to Inferno 8. Silence in the snow. Vengeance falls went a whole different direction, almost full on radio rock at times. I think they were catchy but still retained thrash/metalcore elements to sound like Trivium. Plus David Draimans help shows in Matt Heafy’s vocals.
Shogun is my clear no1, followed by Sin and Ember... the songwriting and sheer insanity of going overboard and still having cohesive songs, I'll put them on right now!
for me, it goes 1 - Shogun 2 - Ascendancy 3 - The sin and the sentance 4 - in waves 5 - silence in the snow 6 - ember to inferno 7 - vengeance falls 8 - the crusade
I don’t know why everyone hates on Vengeance Falls, SITS is obviously their worst effort 1. Shogun 2. Ascendancy 3. In Waves 4. Sin and The Sentence 5. Ember To Inferno 6. The Crusade 7. Vengeance Falls 8. Silence In The Snow
oOf , mine would be 1:the sin and the sentence 2:ascendancy 3:in waves 4:vengence falls 5:silence in the snow 6:ember to inferno 7:shogun 8:the crusade
Glad you gave reason of your distaste of Shogun instead of pointlessly ranting about it again lol. My list would be 1. Shogun 2. Ascendency 3. In Waves 4. The Crusade 5. The Sin and the Sentence 6. Ember to Inferno 7. Silence in the Snow 8. Vengeance Falls Though I like all their albums, Shogun stuck out to me the most. The production of that album blew me away.
I respect your opinion, but here's my list: 1. SHOGUN 2. The Sin & The Sentence 3. Ascendancy 4. In Waves 5. Vengeance Falls 6. The Crusade 7. Ember To Inferno 8. Silence In The Snow
1. Shogun 2. The Sin and the Sentence 3. The Crusade 4. Ascendancy 5. Everything else Thanks for giving The Crusade the praise and respect it deserves. It pisses me off to hear people criticize it so much just because it wasn't Ascendancy v2. Ignition, Detonation, And Sadness Will Sear, and Tread The Floods are some of the best songs in their catalog. Too bad none of them get played live any more.
Before I give my list, gotta preface it by giving you props for taking the high road and placing Shogun higher than you personally like it. Mad respect there, CKN. With that being said... 1. Shogun 2. The Sin and the Sentence 3. Ascendancy 4. The Crusade 5. Silence in the Snow 6. In Waves 7. Ember to Inferno 8. Vengeance Falls
1. Shogun 2. Ascendancy 3. The Sin and The Sentence 4. In Waves 5. The Crusade 6. Silence In The Snow 7. Vengeance Falls 8. Ember To Inferno (I just could never get into it)
As a trivium die hard and them being on of the first metal bands I heard and loved. I agree with this list. And the shogun at 3 I like and as you said the album was too long at some points. The crusade really is a great album was just listening to it last week. It sounded metal if that makes sense. Heavy in your face no bullshit. We are the fire, becoming the dragon.
For me it's: 1. Ascendancy 2. Shogun 3. The Sin And The Sentence 4. In Waves 5. Vengeance Falls 6.The Crusade 7. Ember To Inferno 8. Silence In The Snow
For me, aside from a few tracks, in waves was just flat and underwhelming. Quantity over quality. I couldn't get through it in one sitting at the time and i still can't. If they had made it shorter (cut out some tracks) it would have been better as a whole i think or at least easier to get through.
I don't get it man...I fucken loved Vengance Falls. I find myself drawn to bands who really never do the same thing twice...probably why I dig this band more than most.
I always thought your initial Shogun review was a troll, but it seems you actually really dislike it because of the length, which wasn't even that long for a metal album. Also, I like the Crusade, but it certainly killed Trivium's early hype after Ascendancy and ruined the band for many metal fans. I think if Shogun came after Ascendancy, they would have been held in much higher esteem. The Objectively Correct Trivium Ranking: 1) Shogun 2) Ascendancy 3) The Sin and the Sentence 4) The Crusade 5) In Waves 6) Ember to Inferno 7) Silence and the Snow 8) Vengeance Falls
for me: 8. Silence in the Snow 7. Ember to Inferno 6. Vengeance Falls 5. The Crusade 4. The Sin and the Sentence 3. Shogun 2. Ascendency 1. In Waves (got me into them)
1. Shogun
2. Ascendancy
3. In Waves
4. The Sin and the Sentence
5. The Crusade
6. Ember to Inferno
7. Vengeance Falls
8. Silence in the Snow
I would switch 3 and 4 other than that I agree
Damn, this is a much more accurate list. CKN ranked Crusade way too high and In Waves too low
You're high off your ass if you put in waves over sin lmao
@@JSmith91 Going back, I would probably switch those around
Danity now with what the dead men say out, where would it be?
In Waves is so underrated. Some absolute gems on that album: Caustic are the Ties That Bind, Chaos Reigns, Forsake Not the Dream
My favorites on in waves are black,In waves, dusk dismantled and shattering the skies above
Almost every song on that album is a gem
watch the world burn, shattering the skies above, so many good songs
Caustic is one of the best Trivium songs ever made.
DERRSK DISMERRRNTLED
Trivium has never made a bad album in my opinion. Interesting ranking.
MJNation Opeth, Between The Buried And Me, Trap Them, Enslaved, they also never had ankward album
Dude you’re everywhere lol
Ivan Mendoza yeah I’ve gotten that many times from other people lol
Trivium has never made a bad album
Wrong
Silence in the snow is painfuly ok but not a bad album man!
Except snow
Silence in the snow was Matt's best clean vocal performance by a mile. Not a bad album at all
Just because it was Matt's best clean vocal performance, that doesn't make it good overall. Instrumental-wise, it was bland.
It would be cool to see you rank Mastodon's discography!
Caleb Degrechie Trivium are Mastodon's younger brothers
I second this.
*1 - SHOGUN*
*2 - Ascendancy*
*3 - The Sin and the Sentence*

*5 - The crusade*

I never understood the hate for "The Crusade"... The whole damn album, plus the bonus tracks, were all amazing
And it had their best lyrics
Definitely the album I listen to most in their discography and I love all of their albums. Becoming the Dragon, To the Rats and And Sadness Will Sear are some of my favorite Trivium songs.
From a die hard trivium hard, we hated it because it was the album after ascendancy lol. It was way too drastic of a change for just being the very next album. I like it Now in my age though. Solid album for sure.
It was definitely a good album but its far from being their best. Its not as original as their other music.
I'll be real with y'all: I don't understand the problem with In Waves. Sure, I understand that it's not the greatest album ever and I get where most of the criticism is coming from, but there isn't a single Trivium album I care about more than this one. I don't know, maybe I'm biased because In Waves has just meant so much to me personally, but I feel it needs more credit. Past that, Shogun and TSATS are incredible.
I don't get it either... It is one of my absolute favorite albums by Trivium.
Brandon Bush bc the songwriting just wasn’t quite up to par as much as ascendency. That is just me. I don’t hate the album. I don’t think it is that bad. It just doesn’t hold up to their earlier releases.

Would love to see how he feels about their last 2 efforts, especially In the Court of the Dragon. I ranked all 10 on my channel.

Love to see the crusade getting some love! Very underated album in my opinion, definetly my favorite Trivium album too.
Rank Em' All: Devin Townsend. Please master!
Solid rank! I'd honestly put In Waves at the bottom. Still a good album, but not a whole lot of tracks I go back to though! Shogun is my favorite Trivium album!
My all time favorite band
1) Shogun
2) The Sin and the Sentence
3) Ascendancy
4) In Waves

Vengeance falls went a whole different direction, almost full on radio rock at times. I think they were catchy but still retained thrash/metalcore elements to sound like Trivium. Plus David Draimans help shows in Matt Heafy’s vocals.
Kelvin Dan totally agree man, I love vengeance falls! It has so many underrated songs on it!
Strife and Brave this storm are so good
8. The Crusade
7. Silence In The Snow

Ascendancy

Shogun is my clear no1, followed by Sin and Ember... the songwriting and sheer insanity of going overboard and still having cohesive songs, I'll put them on right now!

4. The Crusade
5. The Sin and the Sentence
6. Ember to Inferno

1. Shogun
2. The Sin and the Sentence
3. The Crusade
4. Ascendancy
5. Everything else
Thanks for giving The Crusade the praise and respect it deserves. It pisses me off to hear people criticize it so much just because it wasn't Ascendancy v2. Ignition, Detonation, And Sadness Will Sear, and Tread The Floods are some of the best songs in their catalog. Too bad none of them get played live any more.
I nominate either Ministry, Fear Factory or Paradise Lost for your next rank 'em all video...
Ascendancy
The crusade
ember to enferno
Vengeance falls
Shogun
Sin & sentence
In waves
Silence in the snow
Before I give my list, gotta preface it by giving you props for taking the high road and placing Shogun higher than you personally like it. Mad respect there, CKN. With that being said...

Ascendancy
Shogun
The Sin in the Sentence
In Waves
Ember to Inferno
Vengeance Falls
Silence in the Snow
It boggles my mind how much shit In Waves is getting. That album is BY FAR their most underrated..
For me, aside from a few tracks, in waves was just flat and underwhelming. Quantity over quality. I couldn't get through it in one sitting at the time and i still can't. If they had made it shorter (cut out some tracks) it would have been better as a whole i think or at least easier to get through.
Trivium is the only band that we compare albums xd
I don't get it man...I fucken loved Vengance Falls.
I find myself drawn to bands who really never do the same thing twice...probably why I dig this band more than most.
I always thought your initial Shogun review was a troll, but it seems you actually really dislike it because of the length, which wasn't even that long for a metal album. Also, I like the Crusade, but it certainly killed Trivium's early hype after Ascendancy and ruined the band for many metal fans. I think if Shogun came after Ascendancy, they would have been held in much higher esteem.
The Objectively Correct Trivium Ranking:
1) Shogun
2) Ascendancy
3) The Sin and the Sentence
4) The Crusade
5) In Waves
6) Ember to Inferno
7) Silence and the Snow
8) Vengeance Falls
I love every trivium album honestly
for me:
8. Silence in the Snow
7. Ember to Inferno
6. Vengeance Falls
5. The Crusade
4. The Sin and the Sentence
3. Shogun
2. Ascendency
1. In Waves (got me into them)
Wow, you really did put Shogun in the upper half. That’s even higher than I would’ve ranked it and I love Shogun. XD Im proud of you, Mark.
Instrumental name please
Can you do another Limp Bizkit video?
I lost interest in them after Shogun
