    I’ve got the Tablet holder and it is a must have for me. Enhances composition, telemetry awareness, and makes using apps like Litchi seamless. As always Jeff, perfectly presented. Thanks!

    Thanks for watching my video on the DJI Mavic Tablet & Smartphone mounts from Freewell. Let me know in the comments if you prefer one over the other and why.

    Using both at the same time.
    Holder for tablet, and smartphone holder, for power bank, charging the controller.

    Hi Jeff, love your video's. I have a Mavic Air and just got a tablet mount for my 10" android tablet. I'm looking for a OTG cable that is shorter, 8 to 10 inches with 90 degree ends. And would you go into the bottom USB port or the left side port? If you recommend the bottom port a 90 there would not be needed. Thanks

    Both look like good value for money ,but personally Iv'e had it with mobile devices that can't be seen in daylight even with a sunshade. This is why I now use the DJI crystal sky monitors... ain't looking back .

      Thanks James, i would really like to see a comparison with a crystal sky monitor. How large are they?

    • @jamesr.9239
      @jamesr.9239 5 лет назад

      The 5.5" monitor is the same length, but wider by .25" over an iPhone 6 plus. The 7.85" monitor is almost precisely the same size as an iPad mini with case. They both are thicker than the apple products, and they both use the same batteries. I also use the DJI quick release mounts made for them. One mounts to my phantom 4 controller and the other is on a custom plate from FLYHIGHUSA.com, for the Mavic Air controller. I caught a sale from B&h last xmas and saved quite a bit on the 2000 Nit 7.85" CS monitor . This is twice as bright as the standard version and I am happy to have the extra brightness ,even for more $$$. Yep ,they're spendy , but they work so well and I can use them for all DJI drones into the near future. The only thing I use my phone for now is in cheap VR goggles with the Litchi app for flying FPV.

    By now is have a drawer full of various mounts but I just keep coming back to using the remote for how it was designed. I like out front but the antenna are always positioned wrong just as in your video. The tablet mount, for me, just covers too much of the remote. I use an iPad mini in the regular remote arms and it works just fine, even with a sun shield around it, and is faster to set up.

      Thanks Stan, that's a great point if you have an iPad mini.

      Yes, I purchased the iPad mini 4 after trying all of this mount to solve the problem. I bet if I could sell all the mounts that I have tried I could pay for the iPad mini. lol

      Stan Cook Thanks my man, I was wondering about the way the antennas are pointed. I mostly have mine straight up and get excellent range. I was ordering the freewell today but watching videos about it, just as I thought.

    Pretty cool! I assume you just connect via the USB port then?

    • @JeffGreeneChannel
      @JeffGreeneChannel  5 лет назад

      Yes sir you are correct. Freewell includes 2 nice cables for both Android/IOS. Or you can use your charging cable.

    Is blocking the controller's screen a concern? My Mavic Air controller didn't have the screen of course but my new Mavic 2 Pro does. It would be nice to use my iPad instead of my iPhone. Thanks

    • @JeffGreeneChannel
      @JeffGreeneChannel  5 лет назад

      Hi Tony, i really don't think it is a concern. Pretty much all the info you need is on the App, so the RC screen is of minimal use. Unless the app crashes and you are not flying within LOS, there's really no issue. Additionaly, you would have RTH kick in as well.

    Just spent $45 on a tablet holder and it's a little wobbly from the weight of the tablet. How is the Freewell product? I like how it fits into the remote.

    • @JeffGreeneChannel
      @JeffGreeneChannel  5 лет назад

      Ruby Tube, it works great for tablets. This one is built out of a metal plate. The ball mount is also metal and can be as tight as you need it to be. No wobble from my experience.

    Does the tablet holder take a case

    • @JeffGreeneChannel
      @JeffGreeneChannel  5 лет назад

      Hi Stephen, I would say for the most part not really. If you have a tablet case with a cover that folds to the back in 2 sections, this is the part that the tablet holder will squeeze. The folding cover will turn into a hinge and try to push it away from the tablet holder. I use mine without the case.

    I have the same tablet mount and mine fits loosely in the controller. I’m constantly having to slide it back into the grooves in the controller. Do you have the same experience or is it just mine?

    • @JeffGreeneChannel
      @JeffGreeneChannel  5 лет назад

      That's interesting, i have not had the same issue w/ the Mavic Air or the Mavic Pro controller. The thick aluminum mount is nice and tight in the rubber cleats on the remote controller. Has yours always been like that or over time? Curious if the Freewell mount is a slightly different build than a previous model.

    • @FreewellGear
      @FreewellGear 5 лет назад +1

      Hey Dan, This might happen if in past you have been leaving your tablet attach to controller all the time or for longer period of time which may have compressed the rubber hopefully they open up which should give it a good fitting.
      To Jeff question this is CNC built same thickness product so no change from one production to another.
      Any help you may need with our products or anything we can help always please feel free to contact us at care@freewellgear.com.
      Thanks
      Harry

      Freewell Gear thanks for the reply, I will leave the mount disconnected from the controller and hopefully as you suggested the rubber will regain it’s original shape and grip the mount more securely. So far I have enjoyed and been very happy with your products. Thanks again.

    Does the table have to be a phone itself... or will a table that isn't usable as a phone work?

    • @JeffGreeneChannel
      @JeffGreeneChannel  5 лет назад

      Hi Elaine thanks for the comment. Your tablet will work just fine without a cellular plan. I have an ipad mini 4 and use it this way too. Happy flying!

      Thanks Jeff I'm a tolal newbie, I've had the Mavic Air for 6 months and only flown it once, and was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to fly. Unfortunately I live near an airport AND an Air Force Base so I have to take quite a long ride to find somewhere legal to fly. It was so much fun I'll be taking the trip to a legal spot to fly more often now.
