Thanks for that, really helpful. Guessing the choice of blade helps,..... you used a fairly rigid one, whereas I have used a fairly flexible/thin blade for Mackerel and other bony fish? Happy to buy Gurnard now, looking forward to trying one.
Absolutely great video! Love fish... could eat it at breakfast lunch and dinner every day! Today I bought a beautiful Gurnard. When I gutted it I noticed it was full of worms (curled up and encysted in the meat, 2-3 cm in length and veeeery similar to Anisakis). Is it common for this specie to have these parasites?
A brilliant video.Simple, straightforward demonstration and commentary.
I like the way he talk and do his job at the same time.
Fantastic demonstration, no fluffing about, just getting on with business.
You are a master, the way you cut, and the way you explain, perfect !!!

Got to be best filleting video I have seen...Thanks
You are really good.
Thanks for the video used it to successfully fillet a gurnard just now.
Thanks, you made that look so easy. I'm about to give it ago now. Not sure what to cook it with yet though
What did you end up cook it with 9yrs ago? Can you remember?
Fewer fish are tastier than this wee, red beastie. My fish of choice here in NZ.
+Andy Ewen Mine too
What does it taste like?

What is the easy way?
Short, smooth, jerky movement... Oxymoron much? Other than that, good video.

That isn't the easy way to fillet a gurnard.
