What a brilliant video! You make it look SO easy - I'm sure it's not - but the clear instructions given throughout have given me the courage to try filleting a pair for our supper! Many thanks.
Tank you for your nice videos my friend , i´m a waiter for the past 25 years, i can do same of your fish labor, but still, i´have learn some new tecnics from you . i´m from Portugal, thank you and brig us more videos plesae. Thanks awesome job.
This is such a superb way of getting the fillet. Having watched this here I have done it several times and it's the best method I've seen. Thanks Mr and Mrs Lucas 👍👍
Sensational! wow, man, you are an artist. Today I struggled to remove the guts and then cut all the fins off with scissors and cut off the head. It took me quite a while. A shame I did not see this vid before :-( Next time I will apply your method. It is pure genius!
@JahariAluvis Hello, It works with gurnard because the dorsal fin runs the whole length of the body, right up to the head. Potentially, if you manages to keep your knife under the skin of other fish, it could work. I've never actually tried it, but will have a go over the next few weeks and let you know, Sue x
I went sea fishing on my new boat and I caught this and I thought how the hell will i eat this thing, I knew t was edible but i couldn't see how i was to prepare it! Thanks for the help!
I've eaten a lot of fish and Red Gurnard is in my top 10. It's a shame so few restaurants serve this, but I don't blame them as few customers will be willing to order it.
I've just had to do this to three of these fiercesome fish! Thanks so much for these clear and easy-to-follow instructions!
Out of All the RUclips videos I've seen. This was the best and well explained too!

Thanks for the information, it was quit useful during processing the red gurnard fish. keep sharing ...
wish i'd watched this before i made a bit of a hash of my Gurnards. Thx for the vid.
That was really good advice which worked just like you said it would! Many thanks.
Thank you for that. Shared by Ryan Davey skipper of the Stelissa from Newlyn. Very cleverly done.
I have tried this on 2 fish so far, practice makes perfect, second attempt was far better, certainly will have another go..
ALWAYS GREAT JOB! THNX CHEF!

Looks alot like a sea robin we catch in new york. They are generally looked at as trash fish but I have heard rumors there actually not bad
Excellent demonstration! Is the roe edible ?
yeah but make sure the sea where the fish lives is not polluted
One of the creepiest fish I've ever seen. But it still made me hungry.
Worked for me, thank you!
@huwmorgan23 Haha! They can be quite spiky! But soooo.... tasty, hope you enjoyed them x
Does this only work with fish of a similar body type (maybe catfish)?
Although I didn't make it look so easy, ha ha...
