    Hi Kamyar! Thank you so much for your tutorials.
    By the way, is there any video that you show us how to plot the force vector acting in some ferrous object due to a magnetic field?

    Thank's a lot for your useful tutorial
    I want to simulate a solenoid to determine the force of this on a metal plate
    how can I enter the number of turn of the coil?
    i see that you just enter the current but not number of turns
    thanks for your time

      Hi, did you find the answer for your question? I've the same question about that, it isn't clear for me how we work with turns in this software.

    • @kamyark8434
      @kamyark8434  7 лет назад +1

      +Iago Marques there are some ways to work around it. Please check the video that I’m designing a simple WPC RX coil. I explained there a bit.

    • @yakovmarkov
      @yakovmarkov 7 лет назад

      After watching the transformer modeling video and checking some comments I think I got it now.
      Correct me if I am wrong: it looks like the number of turns doesn't matter much since we apply the right amount of energy in the coil, that is, to maintain the right MMF (N.I). In my case, I needed to apply 3A in a 500 turns coil, what yields a MMF of 1500 A.t . At first, I applied a current excitation of 3A to my coil section and I was trying to find where to define the number of turns (post-processing matrix isn't an option because the inductance doesn't really interest me here). The B obtained was pretty low of course, so I realized I should apply the current which would result in the same MMF (1500A.t) as if I had only ONE turn, thus I set my excitation to 1500A and I achieved the expected results according to my calcs.
      My goal here is to measure induction, force and torque on a spinning metal disc - eddy current brake device. I'm following your video series since the beginning and I learnt a lot, thank you! If you can recommend some video in which you approach a similar problem it'd be great, cause I still have no clue how I'm going to simulate different angular speeds (w) for the disc and get the related torques.
      Regards

    Hy Kamyar;
    Thank you very much for the tutorials, it´s been very helpful. One question, when I simulate there are too many lines on the magnetic field, making it hard to visualize, how can I solve this problem?

    Hi kamyar K.
    How can you measure the leakage inductance of this coil?
    Note that the total inductance of the coil consist of magnetizing inductance and leakage inductance.

    • @kamyark8434
      @kamyark8434  9 лет назад

      Hi,
      If you follow the previous tutorials you can see how to define the inductance Matrix. from that you can find the leakage inductance. I would specifically talk about that in next tutorials too.

    • @Eng.Mohammad_Al-Fadhli
      @Eng.Mohammad_Al-Fadhli 9 лет назад

      I know . In your tutorial (PART 3 -- Ansoft Maxwell Calculating the Inductance of WPT Coil) this inductance is the total inductance of the coil. But you must know that the inductance consist of leakage inductance and magnetizing inductance .I ask you about the leakage inductance.

    • @kamyark8434
      @kamyark8434  9 лет назад

      I see , you are looking for leakage flux, which can translate to leakage inductance. You should calculate that as far as I know since it is not a predefined parameter. You will see more on how to do that in next tutorial.

    Hello,
    I need to simulate a coil with its REAL number of turns, not to magnify the current..
    I tried to give the number of turns with "Matrix>>Post Processing>> Turns", but the solution is always given for ONE TURN no mater what the the number of turns was..
    Any Idea?
    regards

    • @kamyark8434
      @kamyark8434  9 лет назад

      Ahmad Kourani First make sure that you are dividing the current when you increase the number turns. second you have to see the results regarding your number turns in the solution data after checking the post processing. Please take a look at tutorials that are covering this topic and let me know if you still have Q.

    • @9029883

      ***** Hi, it works, I just wasn't paying attention to "Post processed" option, I think I was tricked by the B vector values.
      thanks

    • @9029883
      @9029883 9 лет назад

      ***** Hello Kamyar,
      It works just for the inductance, the force is still very small even if I increase the number of turns and check the "post processed" box.
      I have watched your videos, you used 80A and only 1 turn so you got a high force on the armature, what if you lower the current and rise the number of turns? I see its not working...

    • @kamyark8434
      @kamyark8434  9 лет назад

      force i think would be generated by input power not number of turns. if you increase the current when you increase the number of turn you shold expect more force. conservation of energy.

    • @9029883
      @9029883 9 лет назад

      ***** Hello kamyar,
      This is the force relation for a relay: F=mu.(Ni)^2/2g^2
      N is the nb. of turns, i is the current, g is the air gap length, and mu is the permeability.
      So I think N does affect the force, but the software doesn't understand that, I think it's said in the official tutorial that N is left for the user to calculate and the software input is only the current for 1 turn.
      Checking "post processed" will only multiply the inductance by N^2.
      Regards.

    hey kamyar...
    will i be able to show magnetic force distributions in this software??

    • @kamyark8434
      @kamyark8434  9 лет назад

      Yes you can add magnetic force in the parameters the same way that you add matrix and after calculations you can plot it over geometry line surface or for phase in eddy current solution take a look at tutorials 306 till 311

    • @kamyark8434

      Divya Panchal air domain is where you calculate the Maxwell equations. Pass are iterations where you attempt to decrease the error (energy error) by increasing the accuracy of calculation using higher resolution meshing.
