I loved Diana Ross back in the days, now it is a new love story. This remix is soooooo good. Playing it all the time in my car, walking to my office, going home - Great work of Erik Kupper, Diana Ross is as always coming out just super.
Miss Ross!! have new fans. My fiancé a millennial love the recent REMIXES started with I’m coming out/upside down.. Miss Ross reached a new demographic..2020. Only if I can keep him away from baby it’s me..his new favorite.
I don't know what it was but as I believe I was a teenager when this song came out or or younger child and there was something about this song. And then later on I learned that Valerie and Ashford Simpson I believe wrote this song and Valerie Simpson was talking about the process of this song and what the objective was and so me personally between them and Nile Rodgers and his partner writing for Diana Ross changing her solo sound to this really sultry sophisticated somewhat Disco but to me heavily orchestrated cuz black disco had an orchestration to it that still you felt the soul and the Rhythm in it you know and this was one of those songs it was it was like something you would play even though I didn't own my parents house they would leave and I would just blast this song and dance in my boxer shorts lol you know around the house you know it's my house and I live here and couldn't wait till I have my own and so one of my first houses that I bought on with my own money I ended up playing that song constantly for the entire year so this song resonates with me on so many levels so glad they redid it remastered it and hopefully she owns every aspect of it because it is a unsung hit
Sublime! Hopefully people will rediscover this 1979 gem with this remix. With many people in 2020, spending a LOT of time inside their houses, this track will resonate with many people on a whole different level compared to it's original meaning.
@@memyself7167 Perhaps it just meant "independance", which was a big issue for Diana at the the time while recording the track as it wasn't long since she had separated from her 1st Husband and had relocated to live in New York as a single Mum with her three Daughters. She made the film, "The Wiz" and then went straight into recording the album, "The Boss", which this song comes from. I guess the "House" could also be a metaphor for her body, heart AND soul - about trusting someone else to have access to those very private parts of yourself.
Okay this was 1979 then I was correct I was a younger child I thought I might have been a teenager I was 10 when this came out and I love the song and then as I got older even loved it more definitely need to be rediscovered because I even think it didn't get a whole lot of radio play but in the bars in the nightclubs cuz I had family members that owned businesses as such that they would play it the customers would play it on a jukebox or the DJs will play it like crazy and but I remember just blaring it at my parents house when they would leave and then my first place that I bought myself when I was 19 I played this forever in a day but it's a beautiful song and what was interesting is when Valerie Simpson was explaining when they wrote this song they weren't necessarily talking about a physical house they were really talking about our bodies Our temples and you have to see the interview it's really interesting but yeah I wonder why they didn't give credit on here for Valerie and Ashford Simpson writing this song and remastering gives Diana Ross the power in the song cuz people still play it like crazy on quiet storms throughout the country overseas in Europe they play this song Like Crazy Beautiful song like you said people need to get reacclimated with it the young people need to hear it it's just a sexy song but clean and sexy
@@memyself7167 I saw an interview with Valerie Simpson when she said you know it could be taken literally but it was more figuratively and then yes they were talking about the body as the temple and you know it's awesome that you caught that as a child listening to it I didn't catch it even as a young adult playing it as I did I didn't catch it it wasn't until I seen just recently Valerie Simpson's interview when she said her and her husband wrote it in that context because they were given privy to her new album along with Nile Rodgers and his writing partner producing partner they were given you know the okay to do this independent album I don't know if this was on the boss oh yeah it was I think it was but anyway point is is that the people that produced and wrote the music she was putting out in that solo artist form was just so Dynamic and iconic and classic it just I don't know whether you were a child or an adult it resonated and it still resonates so let it be it's our house our bodies are our house and we live there yes yes yes and it was built for love
@@memyself7167 she say you want to move in with me you got to follow the rules to get me and you want to drop by in my house what and then 1985 Rick James had the Mary Jane Girls do in my house which door faster Tempo still had the same feeling of the song listen to the lyrics they have similarities not exact but metaphors are very well played beautifully

Hi, what's the original meaning? Her heart? Body?
