Well, Dementors have hard time of noticing Sirius is because he's an unregistered animagus (So as Peter). But as far as I remember, they are able to detect animagii, if they are registered.

One problem I had with Lego games from this era is that areas didn't feel "completeable", that is, you couldn't get all the studs in each place because the breakables kept regenerating. I liked the feeling of clearing out an area.
@@JohnySlama Instead of having a relatively small hub world and linear levels, Lego Harry Potter has a large castle, and the studs never run out, so my completionist brain just gets stuck getting more and more studs instead of actually playing the game.

I always felt it was a wonderful happenstance for the developers that Rowling introduced Crookshanks the same year that Scabbers gets his big reveal, and is thus removed as a "pet" for Ron to use for the main trio to solve the pipe puzzles.

I remember having some bad memories of playing Year 3 on the DS. Year 1 may've had the Bludger that aggressively chased me around the stadium and Year 2 had tedious jumps during the Basilisk fight and a difficult stealth level involving Snape, but Year 3 had even more frustrating stealth levels, a tense chase away from Werewolf Lupin, and the Whomping Willow being a dick. Hell, I even experienced a glitch inside Honeyduke's where I couldn't jump or get out of the shop. It's the only time a bug showed up in the game for me. Luckly, Year 4 felt much easier.
To be fair: The Whomping Willow *is* a dick. You may just be walking by and this tree will still try to whip you into submission with reckless abandon.
A while back I got years 1-4 on the DS just to see how it compared to the PC version. While it's not the best, with some story beats making no sense, I actually quite like how you cast spells. Using the touch screen to draw out the right spell is fun and surprisingly accurate. Same for potions too, as well as the little detail of having to talk/blow into the microphone to 'speak' parseltounge. It's little touches like that that really work for me.

I remember encountering a game breaking glitch with my gf at the end of Prisoner of Azkaban. If any of the lamps appeared on screen the game would crash. And somehow we managed to avoid them. It was intense.

Fun fact, the sphinx is in the PC/console version as well, as a bonus area in free play. It even has the big spider that Harry fights in the book EDIT: The spider and the sphinx actually aren't even in free play, they are directly involved in the level's linear progression, so either Flandrew forgot about it or... I dunno, completely missed it... somehow
I had (probably still have, idk) Years 1-4 and 5-7 on PC as a Kid. The final level of Year 3 would always (I do mean *always*) hang up on me at the Gargoyle Section, so that sucked. The Orphanage flashback level from I think 6 was also unbeatable, as my Character would just die halfway through the Elevator Ride.
Animagus in animal form are much less affected by dementors and they can't be sensed by them; that's how Sirius escaped; McGonagall's troll picture is a clever reference to Hermione's fear of failing her Hogwarts exams: Troll is the lowest grade in the OWLs
I just discovered that Lego Cedric died the same way as Dobby by killed off while teleporting. And this game release a few moths before Year 7 part 1 release,so we've been spoiled the Year 7 part 1 ending through this game. I wonder if someone finish the book and react to Lego Cedric death and something feel familiar.
Just for the record I’ve read Harry Potter and the prisoner of askaban and if I remember the story correctly Harry didn’t know Sirius was his godfather until towards the end of the story when it was revealed that scabbers was Peter petigrew and was the one that betrayed Harry’s family
Harry (and the reader) finds out Sirius is his godfather in the exact same scene as is potrayed in the game (in the bar) with little exception that he is hiding under a table rather than the invisibility cloak. the chapter 10:The Marauder's map.

You should play to make 200 gold bricks (it's faster than first playthrough) and you will unlock extra level when you play before first movie.
