Good points. Maintenance is huge. I live in a small city with several bike shops and non of them carry e-bikes and don’t work on them. I bought my Specialized Turbo Vado SL in a bike store 40 minutes away who not only sells Specialized e-bike s, but are also trained to fix them. I can wash my bike and grease my chain and movable parts, but I can’t tune and repair my bike. Even bike or sports shops who actively buy and sell e-bikes might not train its mechanics who are trained to repair the bikes. In my research, I looked for shops that only sold e-bikes, particularly Specialized, but I asked about how the mechanics are trained to work on them. It’s very important.
