Thank you for this review. I have been checking out Merlijn for over a year now and we think we are ready to commit. My husband is 6'3" so your review was reassuring for him. I have a few questions I'm hoping you can answer. Do they limit your luggage size - meaning: will we be able to bring aboard a regular-sized carry-on suitcase each? Do they have enough ebikes and did you prearrange the rental? I am a cyclist but my husband is not. He will want an ebike. And third: I plan to check out your other videos from this trip but am wondering which, exactly, trip you did. We are looking at the East Meets West tour. (Mainly because there are still 8 cabins available.) Thank you!
Hi, Thank you for watching! I'm glad you found it enjoyable and helpful. 1) There is no limit on the luggage as far as I could tell. My wife and I travel very light. One roll aboard apiece and a personal bag, but did notice that the folks from Australia had some serious luggage. 2) Whether or not there will be enough ebikes depends, I suppose, on each trip and the number of people wanting them. eBikes are becoming more and more popular. Coen told me that more and more people are requesting them, so yes, you will need to reserve an ebike at additional cost. 3) We were on the Saar, Mosel, and Rhine Rivers trip. And, 4) about the food, Cristina was very accommodating. You do need to tell her ahead of time. Let me just add, that Coen was very responsive every time I had a question. This was such a great trip. A couple that we met on the boat loved it so much that they had booked two weeks in a row. And, if your husband is a big cyclist, then staying on the boat is totally acceptable. My wife did that a few days. @@pottery59
