Cute specs! This got me thinking about my current job. A large chunk of it is taking care of the office when he goes out of town. I could have him just forward the phones to mine and give me remote access to our database! Oh boy thanks for getting my mind churning on that.

Thank you! I'm going to check out your book. I've been a remote contractor for 11 years, working FT as a transcriptionist, and I recently got an additional PT remote job setting appointments (which includes earning commissions). My hours are extremely flexible for both, but I do end up working way too many hours for my FT because I have to spend my life competing with too many other contractors to try to claim too few jobs (this part is unpaid). I work more than I ever did in my corporate job, and I'm tired. It's like I'm always on call, getting very little sleep, no benefits, and paying high taxes. I would love to be able to cut back but still be able to pay my bills, and I've been considering downsizing for quite a while.
People love the idea but in reality, just don't have the right personality for it. Some people need discipline, deadlines, and supervisors to get the work done. When you work for yourself it's up to YOU to make sure everything is done right and on time.
I looked into delivering rv's about a year ago, and it was completely dead. There were quite a few videos from experienced delivery drivers showing that there just weren't any deliveries to be had. Is the demand for rv delivery drivers back?

Robyn... this may seem "obvious" but could you do a video on how to get on the road? I have a fully remote job and am itching to hit the road, but I'm not sure where to start. Should I sell my house or rent it out? How do I get my bills in the mail? I just get so caught up in the logistics and I can't figure out where to start!
I'm not an RVer by any stretch but my first response would be that most bills these days can be digital and switched pretty easily depending upon the company, plus I would rent out your home and use that to fund your RV life! Hope that helps!
I'm a little late to "the club" because I just found your videos on RUclips. Anyway, your videos are the best resource, hands down. Plus, you give a lot of useful information and not just look at my camper videos, even though your airstream is pretty sweet. Keep up the great work and happy camping ✌️
I do consulting work in my field (Leadership Development) and have transitioned to day trading futures. It's a big learning curve with tons of studying, using sim/demo accounts so I don't blow my savings, but the freedom it affords has been incredible.
I'm currently a hybrid employee. As a recruiter, there are times I have to be onsite to screen and host candidates or manage our big events. I love the people I work with and feel that they trust and value me so it's tough to think about leaving. So, my big hurdle is figuring out where to park a rig during the days/weeks that I have to be in person. It's good to know there are options out there if/when I do decide to move on.
Robin, can you cover how you are able to pay for gas while on the road, yes you have your sources of income, but someone starting out the gas budget can be daunting. Thank you for sharing all of your experiences!
I workamp in the park office but happened into a accounts receivable job with the owner’s other small business. It’s remote and flexible so I can do it when we travel. You just never know.
Hi Robin. We traded airline travel for an LTV Unity in 2020 and, since we were first time RVers, we turned to RUclips to learn. We watched every single video you’ve made, and we learned so much from you. Thank you. You have our attention again with this video. Cause I would hold onto the items that wouldn’t sell. Well you know as well as I do, that there isn’t enough storage for things you need, let alone something your not using.
The great thing about my job is it was turned to 100% remote work about two years ago. During Covid, we were remote, then we were brought back into the office. Our company realized they were bleeding talent because of their "mandatory" back-to-office rule. Then they went Hybrid with 3 days in the office and 2 days remote. Then the Omicrom variant numbers started rising, so they sent us all back home again with a "review" a few months later. They decided to just let us all stay remote with the option to come into the office if and when we desired. I haven't stepped foot in the office in two years! I love that I'm now 100% remote which will allow me the freedom to start the next chapter of my life journey: Full-Time Vanlife!
