    Thank you ladies! Sometimes the VA, for whatever reason, they do rate for both the sciatic and femoral nerve.

      They call it Polyneuropathy. Could it be based upon multiple level nerve compressions as opposed to a single level? So no pyramiding because the sciatic is off l4-l5 l5-s1 and femoral off l2-l3 l3-l4?

      Found in M21-1
      Unlike the upper extremities, separate evaluations of the lower extremities may be assigned for symptoms that are separate and distinct, do not overlap, and are attributed to different lower extremity nerves. This means that separate evaluations are warranted when symptoms arise from any of the five nerve branches listed in the table in M21-1, Part III, Subpart iv, 4.N.4.e.
      If symptoms arise from within the same nerve branch of any of the five individual nerve branches in the lower extremity, assigning separate evaluations for those symptoms are not warranted as this would constitute pyramiding.

    What about Depression caused by Chronic Pain from Herniated Disc at L5 S1 of lower back.
    Filing a claim for Somatic Disorders Symptoms secondary to Chronic Pain from Herniated Disc at L5,S1 be pyramiding??
    Why?
    Why not?

    I am not trying to call out a wrong, just possibly show a potentially better outcome based on diagnosis, specifically with the femoral nerve and sciatic nerve scenario. In my case, my sciatic nerve is the cause of my lower leg neuropathy/radiculopathy, but my femoral nerve is the cause of the topical numbness in my thighs, and both were rated separately based on being able to differentiate the causes. It may be that someone let this go on accident, but it is how they accepted it in my case.

    If one is rated for CFS, can one also be rated for Migraines separately? Or is that considered pyramiding? And thanks for your always informative videos.

    I'm rated at 50% disability for PTSD...I have planned for my suicide and was placed on a 72-hour hold...Is this grounds for an increase to a 70% rating?

    Rated 50% for PTSD and moderate depression. I have an appeal for sleep apnea. Would that be considered pyramiding?

      I know this comment is rather late but no this wouldn't be pyramiding because though sleep apnea can be caused by PTSD it's not a ( mental disorder)

    Are gerd and ibs rated separately?

    • @willturner895
      @willturner895 3 года назад

      They seperate ratings. However the VA can only give you one rating or it is considered pyramiding. They will give you the higher rating of the two though.
