I actually knew this song three years ago because a friend showed it to me. I'm also glad people liked it and that it's featured in such a great show like The Umbrella Academy.
Klaus's scene was so powerful with this song. it was able to make me cry without knowing why he was. I could connect to him without knowing why he was suffering.... Just breathtaking.
It was that thousand yard stare.... A look like it was unbelievable to him. Like he still was just coming to terms with what just happened. And the fact he smashed the suitcase and screamed like that.... It was a roar like "why did I experience this for it to end up this way?? What was it all for?!?!?" To which he gets to the floor and starts scratching the road with bloody fingers as if he was in the midst of a mental breakdown... And I seriously do not blame him... I couldn't ever survive what he went through... And I'm NOT talking about the war he was in. I'm talking about the one he lost ... He watched his love leave this world in his very arms.... He couldn't do anything for them... Nothing but watch .... So helpless and hopeless... I am crying even as I type this out because I just wouldn't be able to get through another day if I lost my love like that.... Klaus is my favourite of the umbrella kids. I want the best for him...

However, upon a rewatch, it's clear that Klaus is just after watching Dave bleed out in his arms MOMENTS ago. Add in that none of Klaus' family even noticed that he was kidnapped, and that he possibly wouldn't have returned to the present if Dave hadn't died... Klaus Hargreeves deserves ALL the hugs, and more!😭💕

It's because Klaus dealt with his trauma in a way that his family members disapproved of. They looked down on him for being a drug addict, not knowing how much being able to see the dead really affected Klaus. The only ones who seem to take him seriously are Ben, Diego, who looks after him, albeit grudgingly, and Allison, who seems concerned about the fact that he just got discharged from rehab in the first episode. Klaus Hargreeves definitely deserves better!

my poor baby klaus 💞 it is beyond me how anyone dislikes his character, there is so much more to him than "the junkie". he is traumatized and constantly tortured and the only thing he can do for some relief is what makes people dislike him.
Robert Sheehan gave us such a great performance for this short but so impactful and meaningful scene. We didn't need to see what his character had been through to understand and feel the emotions.

Like "The needle stopped the kicking' is defiantly talking about drugs being injected by needles to calm addictions. And "We overcome the sirens. . . And I know that someday I'll see you soon(Heaven), But now you're out of sight(dead), And you'll kiss me like you used to in the January night" is the parents dying. When you listen to again think about this, it makes more since and so much more depressing.

Fabulous, came here because Sam Fender (who I’d never heard of) was co-hosting Annie Mac’s Future Sounds show on Radio 1 last Tuesday that I just have on in the car if I’m off to a gig, and he played it as they were an influence on him whilst he made his album, the track melted me. Gorgeously spellbinding.
