My cage made it in the video! I’ve changed it up some since then. I appreciate the constructive criticism. I never thought about them having to work for hay so much as just a foraging toy, but I see what you’re saying! Eventually I want to make it all match and look aesthetically pleasing😆💗
have you ever considered making it a 3 by whatever because they can run back and forth well but they can’t run round like a square circle thing although i can see that you can’t really extend but if anything changes maybe keep this in mind??
I’m so thankful for this channel. I don’t have my own pigs but I would love to soon when I have the space. This has been a huge learning experience for me! The cages they try to sell you at pet stores to house guinea pigs seem so ridiculously small in comparison to what they actually need. When I do get my own guinea pigs I’ll definitely be modelling their setup based off of your advice. Thanks for spreading the information!
There are some good sized one like what I got. Mine is a 10 sq ft cage that can be moved as needed and comes with a hay holder food bowl and water bottle
Loved this video ! I use hay piles for my boys, and it works rly well. They love to play in it when they get bored of eating, so it does get messy, but still worth it as it adds another dimension of fun to their daily lives 😊🐽
I'm surprised not to see more hammocks. My pigs LOVED those, low-hanging on the floor so safe and easy to climb in and out of and perfect for sleeping under as well. Ideal nap spot !
I would like to see Taylor take a tip from Hannah's setup. The lower level of Taylors set-up could have cut in the center, making the area easier to access for cleaning. Also gives a sense of separate/private spaces for the piggies towards the front of the enclosure.
My piggies have completely eaten the supports on their oxbow playpen thing lol. Thank you for these react videos they help a lot with getting ideas for my cage.

My two male guinea pigs love the oxbow play toy hide, its actually like of starting the fall apart my guinea pigs have actually stared to only used the bathroom in that hide. ❤
Sow pheromones can cause boars to fight/become reactive to their scent. If you have Male and female guinea pigs in the same room, you should try and keep your males at one side of the room and your females at the other (its best to keep them in an entirely different room if possible). If you are unable to keep them in a different room or opposite sides of the room and you're using stacked cages, keep your males on the top and females on the bottom as to not allow the sow pheromones to drop down on to your boars and cause fights between your pigs.
I have two pigs, Lulu and Strawberry. They live together in a 4x4 cage, sometimes I temporarily expand the cage by adding an additional 2x4 enclosure. They have two water bottles, 3 hiding houses, & one forage ball. I tried using a litter box for them but unfortunately they decided not to use it!

Prairie dogs are legal to keep as pets in some US States; Wyoming, Florida, Alabama, Kentucky, Washington, Texas and Nevada. In others you need a special wildlife license and many conditions must be met to keep them. Sadly, believe it or not, it is legal to keep them as pets in the UK, along with many species of wild (non-domesticated) animals and it is relatively easy to find them for sale in exotic pet shops. Anybody can buy them and I have not found that they check that you have in-depth knowledge about their care requirements (at least in the pet shops I have enquired in.) They are a speciality species, so you must know what you are doing and I am sure they need specialized care, including a vet that specializes in exotics.
@@juliemcgugan1244 That’s all true. I’m in a special Facebook group that has a vet who donates her time to answer questions in the group who is an expert on their care and health. Their care isn’t too complicated and is very similar to rabbits and Guinea pigs. They do differ because they have a breeding season (2 weeks-6months depending on the individual) where they are incredibly aggressive. Their teeth can cause serious damage because of how long they are, and when the bite they don’t just let go. I love mine, they’re very sweet, but not for beginners for sure.

it’s actually not by the squares, it’s by the grid dimensions :) most standard grids are 14” by 14” but there’s some with 12” by 12” seeing the cage takes 2 tables that are give or take at least 4 - 6 feet long, the grids are probably 12” and they wouldn’t be that small :)

I’m very new to guinea pigs. I’ve been watching videos for about two months now and I’m concerned recently about the satin disease they can get how common is that and is there any specific breeds that it doesn’t affect or ways to prevent it
Technically the minimum for 2 guinea pigs is roughly 8 square feet, but in my experience boys do better in 9-10 square feet. So a 2x4 c&c is fine for the vast majority of girls, but a 2x5 is more suitable for boys, especially for more dominant boys. In some cases where boys are not getting along you might need even more space though, so a 2x6 or a 3x4 might be better.
I wasn’t expecting you to have a Scandinavian follower. ☺️ also no the Netherlands does not have target * insert my sweedish friends rant about target not being anywhere outside the us *
Yes! 2x4 is equivalent to 8 square feet, which will work well for two piggies. The only time it may not work is if your piggies do not get on well, as they may need extra space to be apart from each other. Controversial suggestion but I recommend adding a loft to a 2x3 or 2x4 cage, as I've found that this saves space in the cage, as bulky items can be placed on the loft so the bottom is more spacious. It's a great way of adding more room to zoom without eating into the rest of your room! Just make sure the ramp isn't too steep, and that it has a guard to prevent falling. It's always best to have more surface area, eg a 2x5 instead of a 2x4 with a loft, but as extra space isnt always available and circumstances change, lofts are brilliant.
I wish you could be more excited about the peoples cages instead of being more focus on critiquing it. Sometimes people just want to show off their cages and enjoy it being shown off and telling what you like about it instead of us talking so monotone.
I was very excited about each and every cage, so I am unsure of how you say I wasn’t? I offer critiques on the things people should improve because what good is a reacting cage video if I just say they are all good? That would be boring. The whole reason why people send them is to become better piggy parents and hear what I have to say about their set ups. Not monotone at all btw!

Hi love your vids I would love to see how you would react to my cage is there anyway I can submit 😊

U would hate my set up in college. Its rough but my girl is happy
I wish I could provide my guinea pig with more space😭 his cage is about 3.75 ft x 2 ft and it seems so small:(
I wish you could be more excited about the peoples cages instead of being more focus on critiquing it.
@@ThePigRoom I don't think you sound monotone! I like how you offered tips and tops, I think you did well! I mean this isn't only targeted for kids..
