I've been playing in the Zion 1 for over a year now. Priorities for me included cushion/bounce, comfort, stability, cost, and light weight. These have been surprisingly solid in all my main priorities for a hoop shoe. My body has felt less wear and tear playing with these shoes - which is ultimately my goal being an older player. I like them so much I ordered a back up pair to keep for when these fall apart - but over a year in with regular use and they are holding up great. I expect to get another year or two out of this first pair.
Had them played about 3 months outdoor I'm 6'3 and they kept up but on one landing after a shot the air strobel unit in the right shoe popped and turned into one huge air bubble ... Thankfully nike accepted a return on em.
@@Bliu2th actually 2 years if the shoes are unworn and new, but for worn shoes they will only accept 6 months since delivery date, speaking from experience lol. But still that's a ton of time to test your shoes or just hold on to them! also, I've been abusing their return policy by just buying any ball shoes I wanna try out and beat the hell out of them (not literally) then send them back in for returns (of course I will clean out dirt on the outsole and whatnot cuz I ain't no filthy animal!) and never had any trouble doing it! If I really love a pair I will keep them. It's a lot of fun!

I remember trying on a 11 to tight so went to 11.5 which was perfect. I was impressed so i may get zion 3s if i can find a good deal.
Hey Zach! Great video as always. I would love to see a teardown of the newly released Curry 4 Flowtro, and an insight on what you think about it's collar. Thanks! I live in Korea btw, so it may still not be released in the US.
I'm a 2E width size and once it broken down , they actually fit me perfectly! I went true to size at 9.5 btw and I think its perfect for me 😁. It's weird cuz they feel really roomy on the forefoot
Hi zach, I've always watched your videos and I find it always informative and interesting. I hope I get to see the teardown review of the nike gt cut which is the 2021 hype bb shoes
i've been playing in zion 1s for about half a year, I like running around the court and they're really good, but on the inside court it's so slippery that u can't run at full speed because you won't be able to stop right ahead. If you like playing around the hoop they're awesome but if u like running around the court with ball you'll have to get used to it.
Man I tried to tell people in my first video on the channel of the zoom 1 there legit. I’m going to start using mine to train my kids on days my legs and feet hurt. That insole is by far the softest once broken in it’s amazing.
These are great for heavy north south players....shifty guys might find they are not as nimble as other shoes. If you put alot of force into them they will react. If you are a tender foot this may not be the type of shoe for you.
this shoe is one of the slimmest shoes ive ever tried. i have to go a whole size up from my usual nike size, when i already have to size up half a size with nike bball shoes
I went up a 1/2 size and tore out the glued worthless insole and replaced it with something that actually has an arch. The comfort is pretty good for the price,, I'm a big man player FYI.
@@nindokwan Yes, unless you want a very tight toebox and you are narrow footed. Many Nike Basketball and running shoes have become more tight or especially narrow in the toe box in the last several years. Some players like this, especially guards. I am a standard D width and I sometimes go up 1/2 size. I would also recommend going up if you replace the insole as most of these insoles aren't worth much.
Excited to crop this shoes i am 60kg 176 even tho u mention its meant for bigger players i think its going to defintely help out alot when i am jumping and ladding as i have promblem and have pain whenever i play . It’s so hard to find a good basketball shoe for a wide footer like me. Cause usually when I go up a full size, there’s going to be way to much heel slippage for me to safely play basketball in
Try the KD 14’s I have a wide foot also but it’s just a suggestion, also I think the freak 3’s are kinda wide well to me anyway when i tried them on ,and I’m hearing the newest Jordan’s are ok and the lebron 19’s
Kd 14s are solid , pg 6 weren’t so good, fit was good but when I did hard lateral movements, foot practically would be fall out to the side in the front. Don’t know if that’s because of the material but yeah, and right now last 3 days I been balling in the all city 10s , they have been the best so far, cushioning is great, bounce, fit, material premium compare to the crap Nike makes now, will last you for a long time , great for indoors and outdoors, traction is good. Good all around shoe , my number one right now . It’s 150 on Amazon , definitely recommend, and they will last longer than these Nike shoes etc.
I’d make an argument abt the durability of the traction, the traction doesnt bite as sharp, meaning it wont be corrosive, but you test it on a sandpaper-which grip the rubber and wears it down quickyly, So i guess the 1-1.5mm doesnt sound so bad. In addition, the shoes seem to have alot of compression when you stop or change direction, so i think it helps with the traction being wearing down less? Usually if you have some source of feedback after using the shoes, it would really make the review conclusive, i hope you can get someone to officially test shoes to its limit n trash them on court😂

I have 2 pairs of these shoes...and have had my first pair since October. I'm a lightweight shifty player with an above average jump shot. I don't mind the Zion1 and wore it in a few league games last season...I had a pair of VK carbon fiber insoles in them. The shoe was fun to play in and you don't feel slow in the Zion. There was no drop off in performance in regard to game productivity...that being said since I'm lightweight (143lbs) & undersized at 6'0. I've always played in the backcourt as a SG each and every season. I relied on Ky7's and Curry8's this past season as my "main" game shoes. I also wore the Drose Son of Chi and DON issue 3 in games. I prefer the Zion1 as a trainer though..but am not using the shoes at the moment. The DON issue 3 / PUMA RS dreamer are my training shoes as of this week.
Had my worst ankle roll in these unfortunately. Then when I thought I was all healed up, I rolled it again landing on a jump shot. Just practicing not even in game haha. Was just too narrow for me I think. Loved the way they played other than that
Completely unrelated to the shoes but since you’re foot doctor zach; I have this problem with my left foot where whatever shoes I’m wearing I tend to notice a slight discomfort with my toes that they seem to curl up (toe point more towards the soles of the shoes than lying flat) and my feet tend to hurt whenever I run or play volleyball. I’m not sure if the problem lies with my actual foot or the socks are too tight but it does bother me a lot and I feel like it may impede on my performance and lifestyle in the future. Any tips in regards to fixing this?
