Hey guys! It is just Business tactic, they do design in 2k , actualy not actualy design, they just put some their products in your room, obviously at 1st you will search for the same item in market as shown by IKEA, but you wont get it. They ypu dont want to spoil their design, and automatically yoy go for IKEA product , which are way costier than market.
1. You never get tou know which material the used in Furniture.
2. They dont use ply wood , they used partical board which is cheaper and lower Quality material than plywood. ( it Not sastainevn for a month if it get touch in water or Moisture.
2. They dont use 1.0 mm laminate, they use 0.07 or 0.06mm Laminate which make big difference, also they dont use branded laminates.
3. If you check hinges and closer used for Drawers,those are not from hettich or similer brand.
4. Fitting of furniture is not on Reguler threaded screw , they use Tightening mechanism which loose by the time. Resulting loose joints and Noise.
5.If you see 3 seater sofa in video,they charge 60kfor ita, actualy its big joke. If you make sofa at local furniture shof , you willget much better sofa and 6 seater sofa in 60k.
6. What they sell in the name of selft , cost 2k is just wastage piece of MDF and laminate over it. Nothing spacial in it.
7. Dining chair 5k ??? Its vest example how IKEA fooled this pure vloger🤣🤣🤣🤣 . If you check such chair in furniture shop , you can easily get it in 2 to 3 k.
6. Go to you Local interior designer,dont waste your hard earn money on IKEA. local interior designer give 100 choices because he dont have constrain for products . He can choose any brand. and He will give you 2 years maintainace agaist any problem in furniture.

I agree but it's indirectly a good idea to get their products sold out also the quality of IKEA product quite standard and elegant. I personally didn't like IKEA good, I felt like they were providing cheap quality goods just one thing I liked that was versatility of their products. I am thinking of consulting some interior decor or go through godeg interior decor
you do realise you can buy all the products they design for you from outside right? you dont necessarily have to buy those products from ikea.
Pls do not go and waste your time in IKEA. Such a big store but not willing to give any warranty of even a single day even on buying any expensive product from there. What's the use of such store who is just here to do the business without any service to the customers.
I visited the store for a king size Bed today and they say Zero Day warranty. All of our excitement of shopping at IKEA went off after hearing this.

What is the distance between sofa and TV ? It looks less..Is it comfortable to watch?
good idea..people have prejudice towards ikea products thinking all of them are substandard ..thats not true .. some products are really good. Example the shoe rack you have shown which i have been using for 2 year now..really usefull and smart looking .. king size bed is really good..in some retractable sofa sets they use feeble wooden cross which are really not good.. so you have to choose and select accordingly ..

I had the worst experience till now. They are not at all professionals, so pls never choose IKEA.
On 8th Dec 2022, we connected with IKEA. After multiple followup, some designer is assigned and she asked for 3 days to give us the requested design. Now it's been 6 days and we are just following up on mails and calls but there is no response from the designer side. IKEA just took payment of 3000rs and flew away. Then today, when we called on the customer care number, the lady told us that designer is now on leave and project is assigned to someone else. We told her to connect with new designing team assigned but there was no response on this. Then we asked to connect with the manager on this, she informed us they don't have any escalation matrix.
And the funniest part, we asked for a refund then the lady told us that it will be done by the manager. I mean, for complaints they don't have a manager and for the refund process he will come IDK from where.
Totally fraud.
I am still chasing them to get my money back but you guys, think before investing your hard earned money with IKEA.
What's the update on this?

They have their own readymade furniture pieces which we need to assemble at home (can hire Urban Company also for complex furniture). They use particle wood for their entry level range. But for their Stockholm series furnitures, they use Solid wood.

Bro if you calculate the amount of design and decoration of only 1 room of IKEA it is much more than the Retail Interior Designer so under the name of low cost design they are selling their high cost products which quality wise not durable. Local Interior Designer can gave you a freedom of choosing right plywood which is much more durable.. and with customised design.

IKEA has tie up with Urban Company and they have trained them for fitting IKEA furniture. Urban Company will do it for reasonable charges.

Thank you. Its not solid wood. These are 4 plywood boxed covered with vineer to look like actual wood.
In reality, spending wisely i can't relate it to this .. we hav real furniture that's durable ..only for looks one can go for IKEA . They got variety of flawless designs
Hello sir, in how many days, IKEA contacts back. Am based out at Pune and tried to contact IKEA but did not hear anything from them since last week
I had got it done during last year’s lockdown. That time, they had very limited queries, so I got the call next day only. But I have heard that they are taking lot of time now.
On the basic plan which is now 3000 rs and let me tell you this is only for one room of your house not the entire house. they don't give 3d plan in this plan you have to pay 5000 rs per room,this is a paid promotion of ikea don't fall for this

I had purchased all these products in August 2021. I am not facing any issues with them. All are in same conditions.
They made of particle board so will get damage within 2 to 3 years so if u want in rented house then use IKEA otherwise avoid it
I bought a sofa ,center table and wing chair a year ago. The center table was cheap and the cost was 5k. Chipped in 2 -3 places. It is too tiny and not visible till you look thoroughly. The sofa is as good as new.
I have visited ikea at new mumbai, its quiet big 1,,most of the items are china made type,some items are ok like,u can buy but furniture is not durable

Color on the entire wall behind Sofa is white. Rest all walls are painted grey. Both are Asian Paints shades. But I don’t remember shade codes.

IKEA only provides furniture. They have trained Urban Company guys for assembling IKEA furniture. I arranged for furniture assembling and painting from Urban Company. They are very good at very low price.
You have just fooled yourself by choosing ikea over professional interior designer to just save some thousands, i will explain you all how-
1) First of all ikea products are for those who are living in rented room or a temporary apartments, because ikea products specially furniture are made up of prelaminated boards, which density is extremely lower than commerical or marine plywood.
2) why ikea is taking low charges or free interior design service is just for you to take the whole house furniture from ikea made only, which is obviously they design the house as per the ikea products available, and thats how customers trap because they think its free service..
3) if you compare the rates of tv units, console unit , you will found that the same design furniture that ikea provides which is bhusa board PLB, you can make in plywood at the same cost, so basically you are giving 20 to 30 percent more money for less durable product.
4) Prelaminated boards are having some restriction over ply, coz in carpentry you can actually make the furniture in mm as per house column beam offsets which is completely not possible in ikea coz is factory made.
5) so if you think you save the cost, then you are fooling yourself, just to save some thousands,
I recommend ikea only for those who jast want to have furniture for 2-3 years span, and for elements like lights, vase and frame you can definitely go for ikea..but strictly no for furniture.
Even we designer take those elements from ikea coz we know we nver think of of durability of elements.
Think before you purchase...
Who told you Ikea products last 2 years, i have bed, sofa, chair, and lots of other items from last 8 years and I really love them. I purchased in US and relocated to India and all products are still looking as new. So please dont justify bullshit just because your business is affected. Learn to call a spade a spade.
If you love and respect your furniture you can make it last for any amount of years.

I love IKEA their whole design and whole ideology but to say that IKEA is a super durable brand is stupid. Their tables and basic boards cost around 5-10k which is cardboard body just placed in a hexagon design I can break that by a single punch. But is every IKEA product like that, absolutely not. But those durable items are highly expensive. There are other vendors that offer either cheaper and long lasting products than IKEA. However only problem with them is they can't match the whole vibe like IKEA and that's the only place where IKEA excels my friend. Nothing more nothing less. IKEA itself otherwise copies expensive Italian brands.

Speaking from personal experience, IKEA furniture products are not durable and not made to last long! Its a waste of money! I advise folks to really think twice before buying furniture there. 🙏🏻

Very nice information Sir. My doubt is - It is more of interior decoration than interior design. It seems IKEA designer is trying to fit items from their product catalog hence limited creativity. Example, it would be nice to have a full height wall-to-wall wardrobe but IKEA designer may suggest a wardrobe from their catalog resulting in wastage of space. IKEA has to give a design that promotes their sales. Else all of us will get them to design our interiors and then contact a good contractor to execute.
Anyway IKEA does not do civil / electrical work which is major part of interiors.
For just Rs.2000 that also refundable, how much you can expect. Additionally, after design is delivered, there is no obligation to purchase any product from them. Other designers charge 10% of project cost even before starting the discussion. In just 2.5 lacs, I got my entire living room renovated. This 2.5 lacs includes all furnitures including sofa, lamps, wall paint, carpet, change of laminate on my existing doors and wall mirror by local carpenter etc. Plus the entire work took just 28 days end to end. IKEA furnitures are installed in just few hours.
Yes it's affordable, time saving and quick to execute as everything is made in factory and its just assembled on site.
It hardly takes 1-2 hours to set an entire sofa.
However if you get everything customised from a designer or contractor ofcourse they will charge more as compared to anyone else.
Product selling is defferent then product design and custom making.

Thanks. Both IKEA and Urban Company can install. Its your choice. Urban Company guys are also trained by Ikea and they are cheaper than IKEA.

IKEA has tie up with Urban Company. They install IKEA furniture for few hundred rupees. Paint also, I got done through Urban Company. Shades were suggested by IKEA designer.

I think they will only plan the items in room but what about false ceiling and other changes that interior designers do? This is a great option. I love ikea but they cannot beat a designer and I am sure designers charge because of their skill and work.
Interior designers will of-course do much bigger job. But, if you don’t have budget, then this is very good alternative. In cities like Mumbai, interior designers charge 10% of project cost which will be in lacs even for a small two BHK flat. So, just for Rs.2000, they do too much. Plus, IKEA guys are well qualified and experienced interior designers. My IKEA designer was ex-Livespace designer.

Total cost to remake this hall including paint furniture n everything?
The IKEA furniture, carpet, lamps and accessories costed around 2.3 lacs. Paint was done by Urban Company for Rs.40,000. I also had to hire a local carpenter for changing laminates for old fixed furniture and removing some old fixed furniture which costed me another 50,000. So, roughly I can say it costed around 3.2 lacs. I had arranged all three parties (carpanter, painting service and IKEA) on my own, no interior designer was involved.

I have purchased furniture from IKEA, all the white products have now turned pale yellow. Also all the furniture, we purchased were made of particle board. We were ok, with that as this was for rented flat.
Even the chairs that they have turned pale yellow. You can afford to spill water on these products, the laminate swells up in no time.
Their chairs are not sturdy as well & size is quite small.
I can only suggest the price, if you want to use them for upto 1.5 to 2 years at the max.
That’s completely untrue. I have been using it for 1 year now and nothing has changed in this 1 year. IKEA white furnitures are being sold for 70 years across world, and its world’s largest furniture maker, there is no such news anywhere.

My apartment is in Navi Mumbai, India. You are most welcome & invited to see these products yourself. Also, you can check IKEA India products online (On their website) - Most cabinets carcass are build in Particle Board. I suggest, you to check the products after 1 more year.
I booked these products online, when their store didn't existed in Navi Mumbai & the installation were done by third party, like urban clap. I frequently visit IKEA store.
In my openion, for long term purpose, you can buy accessories, decor, curtain, glasswares and may be lifting, but I won't recommend wardrobe, shoe unit (You happened to have same unit as mine)

Yeah, I took the IKEA services in May 2021. Yeah, within 1 year, they have increased their service charges by more than double as you mentioned.

IKEA billing for Kitchen was 2.1 Lacs including gas hob, smart lighting with remote. 22k for countertop. 1 lac for demolition of old kitchen and civil works

As far as I know, IKEA provides these services in cities where it has its stores or deliver online order. Currently its in Hyderabad, Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Surat, Vadodara and Bangarulu. But you can still check with their customer care.
