    I do paint rowing boats (that’s my job) And I have to say your learning curve is really impressive... I learned everything by my own and I had a lot of mistakes when I started 😅
    I don’t understand how your primer can go through a 1.4 nozzle... I use typically a 1.8 or 2.0... You do wet on wet primer ? Maybe try a surfacing primer... so you get a smooth (and aero) surface after sanding, then go for a wet on wet primer...

      @@KitplaneEnthusiast Hello Mark, Sorry for calling you the wrong name. I'am for sure you collect the most compliments at Oshkosh. I'am surprised you talk about 9 mounts. With your high standards and knowing then engine and electronics with the complete wiring must be done there is a hell of a job still waiting for you. Take care and all the succes of the word I wish you. Bye bye

    Just found your videos and they are giving me some great ideas how to paint my plane- I'm building a Savannah S so not so different. Have you done a video showing the jig or how you painted the wings or did you paint them lying down on a bench or the floor?

    I am curious why you didn’t use the same brand for primer as for the color paint?

  • @joshryan4247

    Quick question…
    How many coats of primer are you using? And did you wait a period of time in between coats. The same question for the Nason main paint. Also…. Did you use a clear coat after the main color? Currently trying to develop a plan for my C172 Thank you for your content and time.

      I used two coats of primer with about 15 minutes between coats. Same with the paint.

    Mind your temperatures when you begin to paint. Cooler temperatures are a no-no when it comes to shooting paint. Also, if you are using your home compressor, make sure you are using an inline de-oiler to remove any oil contaminants from the air supply. The de-oiler and an inline air dryer will go a long way to improving your finish. Gun distance to the work surface is important, per AC 43.13, any where between 9-14 inches depending paint viscosity, gun pressure is important depending on the paint viscosity. Looks great, quit being so damn hard on yourself, you could be paying $25000 for a paint job, just saying!

    So... you waited until your technique was better, then painted. Makes sense. But - WHAT DID YOU LEARN that made your results better? Viewers want to know! Thanks.

    I'm waiting for the first time it gets washed. If the paint falls off it's because you didn't etch the surface prior to priming. You don't need Alodine, but you need to etch the surface of aluminum. No matter what it says on the can of miracle primer.

    Question: what is your mix ratio when you add reducer in your primer or paint?

    Are you going to do the Horizontal stab bulletin repair before painting it?

    • @davetillema8949
      @davetillema8949 5 лет назад

      @@KitplaneEnthusiast wish I had seen this reply 1st. I chose to follow the bulletin. I didn't and still don't like the skin overlap. I added Cortec, but I believe it's a temporary thing. I don't want to be slowed down on the build by this, so I will probably build another stab in the future ,once this bird is flying.
      Btw , I have enjoyed your videos immensely. Thank you for the extra effort you put out to help others that are building. .
      My build is at Facebook.
      Texxas 750 Cruzer. If you get a chance t mobile ke a peak. I'm open to advice from more advanced pilots/builders such as yourself .
