Thank You. Another brilliant easy to follow video; that allows us mediocre painters, to gradually increase the skill level of certain painting styles, one at a time. Your tutorials have helped me overcome the resistance to trying new techniques. After 35 years of just layer, wash and dry brush. I now use a wet palette and have started blending, glazing and stippling. As such, I enjoy my hobby again! Keep up the great vids in 2022.
I think i made a mistake on how I learned things. Im doing blending and glazing already on my 2nd set of minis. But havent really learned layering 🤣 or at least havent tried it correctly.
Looks amazing dude, saw the finished piece on PMP review...it takes alot to get high praise from Vince, but he had a hard time criticizing it. Lol, but she is beautiful her skin and hair, on top of the scene you create with the base A++
very brilliant, this is a new way to paint some alternative hair's colours, expecially if you're doing an ultramodern/sci-fi figure (f.e. an Infinity's one). After all it's possible changing the colours to make a different shade.
What a wonderful surprise to close out the year. Beautifully painted hair. That is something I always struggle with. Thanks for teaching us. Keep up the good work, you are a blessing to the painting community. Have a wonderful new year, mate.
Happy new year and another great video to add to my many to try out, you palette and brush camera work as so of the best out there and wish a lot more content creators would take a leaf out of your book, great work and look forward to another great year of tutorials 🙏👏👏👏
You're touching a very hairy subject here. Can't tell you how many hairs I pulled out trying to get hairs done right. And I don't want to split hairs but I think natural hair colours are more difficult than artificial ones. HAPPY NEW YEAR ;)
Ahh, the ✨Kujo Sparkle✨™. The best way to finish off gorgeous hair. If you were going for a darker blue/black hair would you still suggest starting off with a warm base color?
Ha thanks. It depends. For black I'd start with black and highlight up with some blue greys then I might come back in at the end to add some subtle warm accents into the shadows. Dark blue I'd do similar to what I've done in the video but use a much less intense blue.
Beautiful results! Thank you for sharing the technique. When you mention that we should make sure that each layer is dry before applying various glaze layers, how long do you typically wait before it's dry?
Usually I work my way around an area and by the time I get back to where I started it's dry again but like Andrew said, a quick blast of a hairdryer will ensure you don't have any down time from waiting.
What a wonderful video, many thanks. I've been struggling with a centre piece models hair I have been working on. I'm trying to do black hair, so it will inherently be entirely desaturated. Do you think there's much of a change to the general principle to apply when using virtually greyscale paints, or would you think using a subtle tone of browns in there should help keep more interest?
Thanks mate, glad you liked it. For black hair I'd recommend mixing a bright blue into your black creating a dark blue grey. Use that as your initial highlight layer and start mixing in a white or off white into that grey to get your highlights.
Beautiful stuff again Kujo! What size brush are you using here, and how big is the model roughly? I get the impression that you're using a fairly large brush for the hair here
Oh, it's a number 1, the model is particularly small. About 25mm base size. Think the face is about 2mm from chin to forehead to give an idea of scale.
Looks amazing but i do have one question that came to me whilst watching, why don't we paint on eyebrows ? in all the 30+ years of painting minis I've never known anyone to paint on eyebrows :/
It's a stand alone mini, there's no game for it officially but you could use it as a proxy for something if you wanted. It's called Suzy by hasslefree miniatures. They make some cool stuff.
Always so inspirational, watching you work. You make it seem so fun and easy. I hope 2022 is kind to you, and you fin the time to share a lot more of your work!!!

Always welcome. Any time. 👍
Not enough talk about color mixing in the miniature painting community, thank you for bringing it up :)
No worries! :)
i really liked this video, super straight forward and easy to understand
Silky smooth. Zohan would be proud.
Ahh, I should have used that. 👍
Oh, I missed your videos so much 100% informative, technical and looks easy to approach. I wish you a wonderful 2022 with more amazing videos
Hair looks great, but what I'd really love to see is a tutorial on how you did that plaid skirt!
Here you go ruclips.net/video/FIm1-VClvrU/видео.html :)
thanks for this! hope we get to paint even more in 2022! happy new year!
I already have a bunch of stuff prepped and ready to go! Happy new year :)

Amazing tutorial again, to the point, precise and stunning. Simply the best
Thanks a lot. 👍
I love that you’re back and creating amazing content again!
Maybe bring back Angus? Lol
He's visiting his harem of sheep at the moment but I'm sure he'll be back at some point. :)
Hopefully you got him a new pair of Velcro gloves for Christmas! 😁
@@kenholmes lol I think he prefers the chase.

Gorgeous color selection ☺ You should add "Miniature Hair Stylist" to your credentials!
lol, Kujo Sassoon. :D
That was beautiful and well explained thank you for this.

Thanks. Happy New year to you too.
Cracking result, thanks for the tutorial, and Happy New Year matey!
Same to you!
Brilliant! Thanks
No problem!
Great advice. And nice to her a bit of Gáidhlig as well. Sláinte.
Beautiful results! Thank you for sharing the technique.
When you mention that we should make sure that each layer is dry before applying various glaze layers, how long do you typically wait before it's dry?
Im usually under a lot of time pressure as don’t get long to paint, so run a travel hair dryer over it and job done 👍
Usually I work my way around an area and by the time I get back to where I started it's dry again but like Andrew said, a quick blast of a hairdryer will ensure you don't have any down time from waiting.

@@KujoPainting 2mm?!
@@TheRealProfwalrus I think so,, let me check.
@@TheRealProfwalrus my bad. It's more like 3mm.
Where can I get this model?
'Lucy' from hasslefree miniatures.
Looks amazing but i do have one question that came to me whilst watching, why don't we paint on eyebrows ?
in all the 30+ years of painting minis I've never known anyone to paint on eyebrows :/
Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't. These minis are incredibly small so it's actually difficult to see them in person. But you can do it if you want.
What game is the mini for?
It's a stand alone mini, there's no game for it officially but you could use it as a proxy for something if you wanted. It's called Suzy by hasslefree miniatures. They make some cool stuff.

Yes!
Ah, relax

Loved the anime feeling of the mini... but then I saw the face. holy sheIGHT is it ugly! Its gotta be a 3rd gen genestealer abomination.
Ha, yeah it's not the best face. I like it though.
