I have watched both. Crawl is action-packed survival thriller with almost no story at all. You literally watch just for how the main characters survived. Godzilla has both action and story.

Basically Godzilla:KOTM was such a good film for the nostalgia and "Easter eggs"/small nods
I.E. "Oxygen Destroyer", Burning Godzilla, Mothra's death to help Godzilla, Finding a Severed Ghidorah head, etc.
Whilst Crawl, has the most bland storyline ever, it's just another survival horror movie, but with alligators instead of serial killers or sharks

Crawl was fun and I'm glad I saw it, a very slick 90 minute film. But I enjoyed King of the Monsters a lot, like saw it many times a lot. Yeah it has some flaws don't get me wrong. They are two very different films to compare.
In my opinion Godzilla King of the Monsters and Rampage should have positive reviews from critics.

There was another review that got posted on the Godzilla subreddit saying that its difficult to distinguish the Monsters from one another. Yea...I'm just waiting for KOTM to instantly obtain cult status ala John Carpenter's The Thing, because Endgame already beat Avatar so there's no need to keep unjustifiedly driving away viewers from a pretty good Kaiju film.

How hard is it to distinguish a giant dinosaur, a giant moth/hornet/praying mantis hybrid, a literal firebird, and a three-headed dragon from each other!? Even in the raining scenes I could still make out their silhouettes. This isn't like Bayformers where every Autobot or Decepticon blended into one another.
Crawl was a decent movie, but it is nowhere near the level of Godzilla: King of The Monsters. What kind of comparison was that? Lmao.

Haven't seen the full video yet, just want to react to the article title; it's not that good. Crawl was fine and somewhat suspenseful when I saw it in theaters, but it's not something I'd go out of my way to see again.

Here's the thing:
For goofy schlock to have any kind of staying power, it has to be REALLY over the top and so schlocky that it is memorable. Some of the Godzilla movies fit into this category, as well as something like Plan 9.
This Crawl movie is not that and will be forgotten by the end of the year.
Godzilla King of the Monsters is one of the most enjoyable action blockbusters I've seen all year. Only Endgame really goes above it. I'll gladly take those over the freaking Disney remakes which are the new trend that is a blight on cinema these days.

Until I saw that article
I myself had heard of the mixed reviews about the film since it's release and up to the point of me seeing it, but rather than actually reading or watching these reviews I chose to go to the film with optimism but also paying attention to how the scenes played out. Being an avid Kaiju-enthusiast and Godzilla fan I was excited to see what the next chapter of the Monsterverse Saga had to offer, and was also willing to not be too critical of artistic license so long as the creators kept true to the spirit of the title's characters and genre. I can honestly say that, in my own opinion, the film lived up to my expectations and also surprised me in some regards.
Omni you're probably the only reliable source of information I can trust now a days. I read the article too before you made this video. Like the "critics" they don't know jack. For all of our sake, let's just stay far away from Entertainment Weekly. Also I ordered your book and I can't wait to read it. I will also eventually review it when I have the time and chance to do so. I am new to RUclips as well 😂

I've seen people hate on KotM simply because they don't understand all the different references. "Why did they keep calling Ghidorah Monster Zero?" or "The oxygen destroyer was so pointless."

Tbh, King of the Monsters is far more suspenseful considering the consequences of worldwide destruction. This article is COMPLETE garbage, especially point number three.

I’ve watched the Crawl trailer and the only thing that jumped to my mind was « Sharknado 2.0 »
I looked up the hashtag on twitter and the only 10 people who used them, and a 3/10 where the same dude and another people who uses it in responds to this article.
So yeah this wasn’t really trending was it then.
Omni viewer I hate critics like Chris stuckmann or toho purists like James rolfe, who only love marvel movies and want every movie to be godfather or citizen kane. This movie obviously isn't for assholes like them and it's very possible Disney is paying them to praise every marvel movie. Cant trust critics anymore as their credibility have been lost. Excellent video omni and keep up the good work and dont listen to those marvel fanboying critics.
The best opposite to Godzilla: King of the Monsters in my opinion is Pacific Rim: Uprising. The latter of which disrespects its source material and Godzilla 2 which respects and pays homage to it.
