Loved this song 10 years ago...then life, streaming, and other music separated us, thank you SiriusXM for reintroducing to me this emotion inducing masterpiece. Once the song hits the 2 minute mark, I become mesmerized.
Here is a story I learned when I visited Lithuania just as they were breaking free from Soviet rule. For those many years and decades of occupation, they would skirmish with the Russian soldiers going into the forest and fields putting up crosses jabbed into the ground, made in the traditional elaborate beautiful woven style of wheat fronds attached to wood bases. Occasionally the crosses would be bulldozed. And sometimes when they went there, they did not return.
This is unbelievable, amazing harmonies, I’d love to do this song myself, but it’d be hard to do it as well as you and/or the beach boys or Brian Wilson. Absolutely love it.
