I found finally found it!!! After 30 years!!! This used to play every Sunday evening on Jamaican radio as a kid. I have been searching for this for so many years. But with the sun setting just now on a Sunday evening, it reminded me of this song, and I remembered that I accidentally saw a Google voice recognition feature just this afternoon and so, I just said, "La, la, la" and this song came out. Happy days.
Sunday contact 🙂🙂 with Ralston Mackenzie or Henry Stenet
@@bajun Thank you for that. It does ring a bell. I will look them up. Also, it may be a long shot but do you know the name of the pastor who used to pray on the radio at noon? The intro song was that old Pat Boone “Sweet hour of prayer”. He had a deep, very commanding voice. 😀
Same here, only I waited 50 years!! This song so reminds me of my parents era in the 60’s but it was long lost to me after hearing it in those Benson & Hedges cigarette commercials on TV in the early 70’s…now it’s sooo comforting to hear👍👍
@@haretonic
Same here!! They have variations of it too on You Tube. I recall it also as a kid, how cool the music was then. Reminds me of my parents and safer times too. ❤
I remember this song from a TV ad for cigarettes.
This song was used for the Benson and Hedges 100 cigarettes in the 1960s. I heard it for the first time in a movie theater in South America and I've been in love with it ever since ...!!!
I remember that publicity as a child that was also shown in Argentina. I used it as a ring tone for a while. I think I'll do it again!
Can't get any more 1960s-ish than this song!
....Except Maybe No Matter What Shape {Your Stomach's In}?
I've been searching for this song for years!!! I was very young and during one summer my parents must of had it playing on the TV or radio. I only heard it a few times but it transcended me for the few moments in time. I recently just heard it searching around Syris radio and blurted out "Thats IT!!" Thats the tune Ive been trying to remember by humming it and couldn't figure out what it was called- until Now....what a wonderful relief and treat...so special to me.
You heard it because it was a cigarette commercial, Benson and Hedges 100s
Great taste in instrumentals! Check out Phoenix Love Theme also......Nothing better than AM Top 40 Radio!
Music brings back great memories. This is a good one.
The same for me ver batim

Such a classic song I remembered when watching the old Benson & Hedges cigarette commercials!
Yes !! I knew it had something to do with cigarettes !!!
@@sgnmath1234 It was known as the Benson & Hedges theme.
I remember those B&H ads, too. The cigarette getting caught in the elevator door. Or the potter getting his stuck in the spinning clay. You've got to be pretty old to remember cigarette ads on TV.
@@sharpestjim eexcuse me but I am not old ... I am well experienced....
Yes, it was that cigarette commercial
I’m glad I grow up with this kind of Music!❤️
When I heard that song the radio, just by total chance it brought back very strong memories from that time. I never knew the name of the song, but I’m glad I found out.
Beautiful, I still remember the cigarette burning with the elevator door then closed! Love old Bensen and Hedges commercials even in 2023 ! 🚬❤
Makes you think when times were simpler, wish life was still like this ☺️
Back then we had some great commercial jingles
And sad to think only the non-smokers of Benson and hedges are still around to enjoy this song!
So much better than 99 % of the garbage that passes for "music" now
As a B&H smoker 63 y o and still kickin'...bite me
"Oh, the disadvantages of the Benson and Hedges 100's. They're a lot longer than king size, and that takes some getting used to. Benson and Hedges 100's must taste pretty good; look what people put up with to smoke them."
Our local Beautiful Music station played this a lot for a hot minute.
Back when life was worth living.
Such a great song, reminiscent of an easier going time. My parents were still young and vibrant and I was in elem. school when this was a new song. Would love to take a time machine back to that time and sit awhile.
Joseph Trunk - Same here friend, thanks for taking me back.
wouldn't we all
Oh yesssss 😎 I miss the time so much!
You do. Every time we go back out of our mind, we reinvent the time machine
It was the theme for a cigarette commercial.
Benson and Hedges 100s
Heard it on the old Benson & Hedges cigarette commercial back in "67
Yes. Those tv ads were very popular back then.
@@billace90 a disc jockey called this song Benson & Hedges theme.
An edited version was used of this.
RIP Mr. Bodner.
It was also used in a Benson and Hedge ad? Heard it in a Marlboro advert when I was kid.
I completely forgot about this tune, but I remember I really liked it as a kid. I just finished transcribing it for trumpet and now enjoy playing along. Simple, but effective melody, and changes keys often, which helps.
This play every Sunday evening about 6 30 on radio Jamaica/RJR94
It's still played???

A classic tune that takes me away from so long ago in simpler times.
Ain't it lovely?
Need more tunes like this out there
Benson & Hedges brought me here. Oh the disadvantages of smoking 100s.
😂 Yep!
😂I agree!
Yo diria q fue una propaganda de B&H no de Dunhil...
We have that record. My dad would put it on while he went upstairs to brush his teeth. He passed away 2 yrs ago March. I loved hearing this. Thank you.
Best song. It has a really good beat and tune
Oh my gosh! I have been wanting to know the name of this song for about fifteen years!!! And now, it just came on the radio. Thankfully, I have the Shazam app on my phone and it recognized the tune! I LOVE THIS SONG!
When this came out it would play on FM 101 in the DFW area; I'd listen to it at night, same time, to go to sleep. Had an earplug that plugged in to my transistor radio from Montgomery Ward. For an 11 year old, that was tall cotton. This song is one I could listen to over and over; I still do actually. Takes me back to my youth, my room, and going to sleep listening to my radio.
Was it, perhaps, the theme number for some late-night show?
Great times, weren't they? I can relate, because on many Friday nights I'd fall asleep with the radio on, only to be awoken by the national anthem playing at 6:00 a.m. the next morning when the radio station would come back on.
We grew up in an amazing era. So many memories similar to yours
Wow, me & my cat enjoyed listening to this musical song & it always keeps my cat's ears up like an owl 🦉LOL. AWESOME! 😛😸👍✌❤
Always keeps me smiling! 😊 Never get tired of hearing this especially on the Sunday contact program in Jamaica...
Sunday Contact with Roylston Mckensie
It's a time capsule into a very lovely time! - one which I truly miss
Another one thanks to RJR. Sunday Serenade selection.
Yeeeeh❤
Great instrumental. It deserved so much better than to be the theme of a cigarette commercial.
I'm glad somebody remembers.
Yeah, but it was a pretty fancy cigarette..! ;)
I always thought so!
AMEN!
When I hear this instrumental I float away to a simpler time soaring G
Found it! A jingle that played in my head for years , thought it was for sunscreen or champagne, Nice song in its entirety. Thanks google
Absolutely love this song, brings back so many memories, thanks for posting this gem!!
Wish it would have lasted 10 minutes. Makes me feel real, real good! Love everything in this song ; instruments, vocals, solos. Just perfect!
ain't it the truth. i love it.
me too
longer than a smoke..?
Sweet memories
The lyrics are awesome as well.
I remember this form my 1960s childhood!🥰
Usually, I hate ''la, la, la'' lyrics, but something in this girl's voice keeps me coming back for more and more.
I'm not sure it is a voice.
Yes. It is such as "Loving You" from Minie Ripperton.
Man does this take me back to when I was a youngster, great memories,,,,, thank you so much!! Love it"""'😂
I was in a casino in Vegas and two big burly pit bosses, both smoking cigars, were at the urinal with me. One said to the other "Hey Joe, it's da la la song". I swear to you they started tilting side to side dancing as they sang along. That was those days.
I'm in my early 50's, and have heard this song for years, but never knew the name.
Same here. I always thought it was just called the Marlboro theme. After the advertisement it was used in...Marlboro cigarette.
A beautiful, sweet, uplifting, make you feel good, song.
Enough said.
Circa 1966. I was working at a local am radio station. I played this on-air many times. Loved it then and still do.

A true example of musical magic. One can hum it all day and it will never end - because it rolls into the next key change. The melody is comprised of endless key scales!
Can anyone here suggest another song that does this?
The impossible dream, also written by Mitch Leigh
Theme From A Summer Place. They'd definitely another instrumental that'll grab ya.
I was 10 years old when this hit the Charts, I always remebered this tune but not the name, Thanks Loads
This song is PERFECT!!
Such a great song. Wonderful group. This song did a lot to sell Benson & Hedges cigarettes. Such a wonderful era and so much missed.
A great song, and a favorite of mine.
I own the LP depicted in the photo. Isn't that girl cute? Reminds me of how the girls looked in my junior high school in the 1960s.
The nostalgia is killing me!
Who is she? Anyone know?
our 60's dream girl look. :)
She appeared time and again on every Brass Ring Lp!
are you willing to sell said lp?
Many have begun their comments with "I found it!" That's the thing about this song, with its breezy 60s vibe and Herb Alpert-influenced sound. Some remember it from a Benson & Hedges cigarette campaign. Others heard it playing on the radio one sunny day years ago when it got under their skin. It stirs powerful nostalgic emotions.
Well said! Truly an unforgettable tune!
Right in there with Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass.
In '67 I was living in an MCM glass house my dad built. We moved in September 1963 just before the JFK assassination. My family too arrived at "Camelot". By 1969 my parents marriage and the Sixties were over! It all came and went so fast!
Reminds me of my childhood , great times and memories
Yes those were funny commercials too bad smoking causes cancer but the commercials were funny. I also love the right guard commercial too .....aka mona
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣Why i'm laughing I had no idea this was a record all I remember it was BENSON & HEDGES 100'S commercials! Now i love this i'm glad i tuned into both videos. 🤣🤣😅 I love this song & music it brings back so many memories! ✅👍

Never heard if this group before;Definitely going to check out, their other tunes. This song has a. Herb Alpert/Sergio Mendes, feel to it.

The original song in the commercial was by The Answer 1967. Still a good version!
I'd hear this song about every time I was in a friend's 1966 Gran Prix . The song was featured in a Benson & Hedges cigarette commercial.
classic cover!
1967 in a time capsule: so very nice to hear!
I love this tune ; makes me feel good .
The BEST SONG EVER WRITTEN......
I agree
For years I thought this was the original version in the Benson and Hedges ciggy commercial. The original was done by a garage band called The Answer.
I liked this song which I heard in 1972 on WNIC-AM in Detroit, as well as being heard in Benson & Hedges commercials before cigarette commercials were banned at the start of 1971.
Love too my friend❤
This is the background music for the 'Philip Morris' cigarettes TV ad during 70s 80s in the Philippines.

"An unusual title for a record," my mother stated about this 45. It was heard as the musical theme to a cigarette commercial on television back then, which seemed a good choice. I believe the brand might have been Salem; it would be ironic if it were Vantage
Ahhh, the classic theme used by Benson & Hedges' TV ads in the US in the late 60s. Humorous ads featuring uncomfortable situations because B&H 100 smokes were longer than other brands. Thanks for posting this.
Me recuerda a mi padre, disco de vinil LP, el acostado leyendo un libro cualquiera, lo importante era escuchar Brass Ring te movia la mente, tanto de efectiva es que yo sin poner la cancion para escucharla caló mi alma por siempre
Excellent album to listen to on A Saturday morning and early afternoon. Life was good, then and now!😁

Such a cool, groovy song from back when. Can’t believe it’s not available on iTunes
just heard it on Sirius radio 60s

I overheard someone at work talking about Benson & Hedges 100's cigarettes that they'd smoked when they were in high school. I instantly remembered that part of this catchy tune was incorporated into their very funny commercials. The whole song by itself was part of a wonderful era in the late 60's when we could count on at least 3 or 4 instrumentals charting very well. Sure miss those times!
This sweet mellow tune will plant itself in your heart and brain, and sooth you throughout your life. I too seemed to have forgotten it but am so to again remember it.
It survives and is embraced by every passing generation.
Great tune, although it was for Benson & Hedges in their US television commercials, not Dunhill.
Una belleza!!!! Benson & Hedges!!! When i'm 7 years old!!!
I first heard this in the sixties. ( I was 9 years old. )
It has always been stuck in my head forever.
I knew it was a cigarette commercial.
I found it a couple years ago and lost it.
Today, on Serious Sinatra I heard it, saw the name of the song and group. Now, I 🐝 smiling 😊
Possibly Robin Ward doing the vocals? She had the sweetest voice and was backup to similar sounding tunes of the 60's.
