- I was so excited when this line first came out, but I didn't begin collecting Descendants until 2019. All of these wonderful dollies were thrifted--I hope you enjoy meeting them.

I totally agree! I've always found doll cleaning/hair styling very therapeutic :) Even as a kid I remember spending hours braiding their hair for comfort.
@@AThousandSplendidDollsYep, same! I'm so glad we live in a world (a dollie world) where loving dolls is not quite as tabu as it was. It took me a while to get over the fear of being judged. I wanted to recapture that feeling of imagination and bonding with my dolls like I did when I was a kid. I just started collecting dolls again a few years ago because I finally decided that it's my life and I want my dollies back! Thank goodness I have a supportive family and also that there are other doll lovers out there like you and your sister. I finally fit in somewhere. I found my people! xo
It's awesome that your family has been supportive :) I find that most people either don't really care if you collect dolls, or they think it's kind of cool.

I always love “someone’s trash is someone’s else treasure” terms in doll collecting. I would really love to go to flea market to see all the preloved dolls and thinking I would buy and fix it. Unfortunately there are no such thing in my country, I found hard times doing so. Your channel does live my dreams!! First of all I want to say that I am so very happy that you are posting videos again as I missed you and Colleen. This was a great video, these dolls do not get enough recognition as I have a pretty nice collection of them and actually bought some when they were in stores. I do have them just in bins though cause of course due to limited space. I was asked about that the other day, the question being...why do I collect dolls just to have them in bins and being short witted all I could come up with is I love them. How would you answer this question as I value your opinion? Thank you for all you do.
Thank you so much! I always say that I do a lot of stuff with my dolls, even though I have to store them away. I take them out for photos and videos, and I'm always fixing their hair. Plus, it's not like you can say wear all your clothes at once, so does that mean you shouldn't have ones hanging in your closet? It's really no different than that :)

Back then, I used to hate the Descendants dolls simply because to me, they felt like a derivative of the far superior Ever After High dolls. I do like them now, but I won't really spend a lot of money on them unless they turn up at the flea market for a good price.
Actually, the Descendants idea was planned before Ever After High. Mattel was supposed to produce the Descendants for Disney, but instead launched Ever After High behind their back. That's why Disney cut ties with Mattel for a few years, because of that whole fiasco.

It would have been cool to see what Mattel would have designed them to look like!
