- Hey guys! In today's video I unbox and review my new Goyard Artois MM tote and just share my overall purchasing experience with you all!
The Artois is an obvious nod to the oh so popular Saint Louis bag. The similarities between the 2 are uncanny! The leather corners as well as zipper closure make the Artois a more structured and secure version of the Saint Louis.
Adore this bag because of all its hidden details I had no idea about before buying it. So have a watch to see what I am talking about.

I bought mine(MM size) in 2018 at San Francisco Goyard boutique. I used it as a hand-carry bag every time I travel and still looks new. The handle is not as stiff as when I bought it but the structure of the bag never changed. I have the same color and size like yours btw. I love my bag❤

Just bought mine last week (Paris) - Artois MM is now 2,050 euros and the PM is 200 euros less. Hope this helps 😊

Thank you for the year update. I bought his to replace a neverfull and have not carried it yet. Mine is green and I feel like I should have followed my gut and got black/black not listen to everyone else. It is a beautiful bag and my experience was amazing!!!
I sold my St. Louis PM in black and purchased the Artois PM in tan. I loveee the Artois and it seems to fix the notable issues of St. Louis (shorter handles, no zip, thin canvas, corner wear, and lack of structure). Artois is such a great style, although it is not the easiest to store/travel with compared to St. Louis as the latter can be easily folded flat. I’m still hoping to get a St. Louis in grey one day to travel with, but for now, Artois is perfect:) I almost got the Anjou mini but I feel the Artois PM is just a bigger Anjou mini with a secure zip. 😅

Hi. Can you update on the wear and tear of the strap.
No issues so far with the strap. Still in good condition and much more sturdy than St-Louis straps I have seen in the past.

just bought mine in the green in st louis GM as i super love this color, find the artois a bit too stiff and if i want a zip tote i can just use my longchamp zip tote 😊

What did you think of the gray? I think I love it but I'm wondering if it pops enough? I haven't seen it in person so I'd love to hear your opinion.
Hello Tanya! 😊 I've seen the gray. I personally find it does not pop like the other colors! Somehow, it has more of a mate finish than a glossy finish, in a way, compared to the other colors like yellow, orange, etc. Great color nonetheless, but will not pop like the other colors in my opinion. I have both, along with the Anjou. I prefer the slouchiness of the St. Louis. I bought the Artois first and found it very practical but I liked the look of the relaxed St. Louis more. Great video!

I just bought my Artois in New York, I see that you have added a protective organizing insert in yours which is also what I am looking for to protect my bag, do you recommend a seller and size that fits the Artois well and won't be too large. I purchased the Artois because I had originally wanted the St.Louis myself but didn't like how flimsy the bag looked, I was influenced to buy the largest version of the Anjou but I didn't like how obnoxious the size seemed and the employee folded the bag in a way to change the shape and ensure it can visually look smaller and also is reversible however I loved the zipper of the Artois for security reasons when traveling in the city and is protected from pickpcokets or nosy people looking in my bag. I so desperately wanted the black handle version but I had to settle for the brown handle due to the black version being sold, I wanted a tote that worked with any outfit I wear unless I want the bag to be apart of my outfit and the Artois is the best way to go considering I use to want an LV Neverfull but believe it is too played out and owned by everyone and wanted something not owned by everyone. The RUclips algorithm read my thoughts. I’ve been looking at adding the Artois to my collection and am going to Paris this summer. Did you experience any line ups or rupture de stock at the boutique ? I bought the moynat oh tote last summer but will have to part ways because there’s no zipper and the Artois is the perfect option! Congrats it’s beautiful :)
Go to the boutiques (Printemps or Saint Honore) very early in the day and also early in the week. The wait was long, I waited 1.5 hr to buy my Artois from Printemps a month ago and there were only 8 people ahead of me! I also see shorter lines in the afternoon on Saint Honore, it really depends. Keep returning and ask for the color you truly want if you have time, and not compromise on a color you don’t like. I’ve been to the Paris Goyard boutiques countless times in the past few years, they have very low inventory and each visit is like hit or miss with the staff and color selection. Prices there are much lower than other markets (I.e. Asia or USA).

Hello Roukaya Jamal 😊 I purchased this bag in June of 2022 in Paris in the Goyard boutique in the shopping mall ''Printemps''.
From memory, it opened at 10 am and I arrived at 10:05 am. There was already 2-3 groups of people in line... It took around 45 minutes to get inside the boutique as it is very small and there are only 2 sales associates working to serve customers. Plus, you never know how long the customers in front of you will take inside the store! You can't really go there and shop for an hour as there are a lot of people in line looking at you! Preferably, you need to go knowing what you want.
For rupture de stock, yes there were a couple obviously. Have a plan A, B and C in case they don't have you exact model or exact color. For the Artois, they had only 3-4 colors in stock at the Printemps and luckily for me, black was available. But the SA was nice and was able to call in the St-Honoré boutique to check availabilites.

I just got back from Paris. I purchased my Artois mm at the Goyard boutique in their flagship original store in Rue St. Honore. Got there are 5 and stood in line for 45 minutes. There only 4 people in front of me. They didn't have certain colors in stock so you maybe want to have an idea of sizes and styles in mind. Fashionphile has a lot in stock you can even buy one for the sake of trying it on if you're not sure and return it within 30 days and then buy the one you really want in Paris.
I’m the opposite. I went to Paris when the artois was first released with the intention to pick it up, but was disappointed when I tried it on. The larger size was too big and the smaller size was too small. It also lacks the chic factor of the pliable St. Louis tote so I purchased that. No regrets. I also love the Anjou.

It’s sturdier indeed but also heavier than saint louis pm bag. I guess it’s all depends on personal preferences. I prefer the light weight and casual look of the saint louis bag than the Artois.

Have the exact same bag and several other Goyard styles including Saint Louis (classic and Claire Voie) and Bellachasse. Definitely, prefer my Artois MM. I have worn it more than any of my other bags for the last six years and outside of some minor corner wear, it looks brand new. It is the perfect bag for travel due to the secure zipper and the super comfortable shoulder strap. I sold all my LV bags a long time ago as I was tired of running into so many ladies with the exact same bag! I am sure you know all these things by now and hope you are loving your bag!

I just posted the review of this bag last week, but I did purchase the bag 1600 euros in June of 2022 ! I can't confirm if all colors are now the same price, but I would not be surprised! Thank you 😊
I paid €1950 euros for this bag in Paris 2 weeks ago. Artois mm in grey. Black and tan/black are a but less. Don't forget you get 10-12% VAT tax back when you scan your paperwork at the airport. Allow an EXTRA ONE HOUR to do that at the airport. When they say 3 hours early before your flight, you absolutely WILL need to be at the airport 4 hours before your flight if you want to scan your paperwork at Charles De Gaulle airport. The security there and lines make the 3 hours early just enough time to get to your gate sometimes. That's just my experience though.

Heading to Paris in October and want to buy my first Goyard. Is it easy? Any tips?
Lucky you!! Paris is amazing 😍 You should not have any problem buying one. My 2 tips are:
1- Arrive 15 to 30 minutes before opening time. Otherwise, prepare to spend a lot of time in line.
2- Have a good idea of the bags and colors you would like to have. They won't necessarily have your first pick exactly, so have a plan B and C just in case.

No, I don't by heart. The best way to know would be to check what they go for pre-owned to get an idea. Or, you can send an email directly to Goyard asking for some more information.
I have an Artois. I like it. I brought it instead of a Neverfull for all of the reasons you explained. I also own the cruise (think LV Speedy) and it’s one of my favorite bags. I wear that often

The St. Louis tote works better for my lifestyle. I tried on the one you reviewed at the NYC boutique - way too stiff and structured for me. If I lived in a city and used public trans daily, I would have bought it.

I contacted the london store recently as I will be going there on holiday (don’t have Goyard here where I live) and they declined to tell me the price or the availability of this bag. Said basically I would have to come into the boutique to see. It’s a 4 hour each way train ride for me to get to london when I arrive in the UK, I just wished they could have been more helpful as I don’t really want to go all that way and pay train fares if it’s not in stock 😭

Hello Juliana! No the insert is not needed for structure. The Artois is pretty sturdy on its own (unlike the Saint-Louis). I just got the insert to better organize my stuff in the bag. I got it online at samorga.com. Hope it helps 😀

Is this an MM or GM? You mention in the video that it is the "large" size, which would be GM?
This is a MM. But it is large in size nonetheless. The biggest handbag in my collection, so I might have used the word ''large''.
