Spot on, my sentiments as well. I bet these birds are far more resilient. Chickens are designed to eat green leaves and bugs and not corn. Corn is a convenient food in cold climates. I haven't had much success mixing different breeds and ages of chickens. They tend to constantly fight. I let them out on separate chickmissions. Really liked this video.

Love your videos! Really appreciate that you treat your animals really well. By letting the chickens free-range they'll also be healthier. . I notice that with my own small flock too. I was reading about this other place that gives their chickens herbs to help them have an even healthier immune system. In particular they boil the oregano as tea and give it to the chickens in their water. So they drink oregano tea to boost their immune system(off course the tea needs to cool first). Oregano is a natural antibiotic this helps you have healthier chickens by eliminates many health problems. The tea needs to be given to them every day though. I started to do that with my 20 chickens. They seems more happier than ever. 😊.

I do it the opposite way. I put the chickens out HUNGRY first thing in the morning. Then in the afternoon I fill the feeders. They come and go and eat, but not so intensely since they have already filled full of grass and bugs. They come in at sunset and I lock them up for the night. You save even more with the morning ranging.
