- We went on a Hike through South Africa's unofficial naked beach at Sandy Bay in Cape Town. This was a hike for us to go and see the BOS 400 Shipwreck, which ran aground in 1994 and has been visited by the likes of Casey Niestat and a lot more. We have provided a few links below.
This hike to the BOS 400 Shipwreck had absolutely beautiful scenery and once we made it to Sandy Bay we were welcomed by white white sands and turquoise sea.
During this hike you want to keep your wits about you as Sandy Bay has been known for muggins and we suggest hiking in groups especially if you are a female, the bigger the group the better.
As we were moved to level 3 lockdown on the 28th of December 2020, all beaches in South Africa were closed yet we were able to still cross Sandy Bay's beach / naked beach during this hike. There were no naked people on our way to see the BOS 400, however on our way back, we did unfortunately see naked men doing cartwheels and spoiler alert, this cold not be filmed for obvious reasons. If you are a naturist and want to get your tackle burnt, this is definitely the place for you to go.

That looks like a fun hike to the beach! I thought Oh so no naked people lol Ohhh dolphins! The ocean is indeed strong, look at that ship wreck, wow! Cameraman has the biggest struggle, lol Steve can resonate with that struggle :)

Naked men doing cartwheels?! Hilarious AND disturbing... That's something you can never unsee. 😂😂 Such a beautiful hike! Lol love how Adam was alone for most of it though. Camera man does get left behind! So true! Too bad it was windy, would have been epic to see close up shots of the shipwreck. Definitely going to have to go watch Casey's video now! The tide at neighbouring Llandudno can be a bit heavy, but it looked so calm here. Which of the other nearby beaches is this similar to, or is it way better than the others?
I love Sandy Bay. my first "clothing challenged" volley ball game. Had a blast!! Greg Adams, Springfield, Louisiana, good old USA. This was 1996 though. No worries and a 9 time visitor to my beloved Suid Afrika.

I feel your pain on the challenges of one handed hiking, but someone has to do it! It's really nice to know where to head in South Africa if I need to get a sun burn on "my tackle" 😅. It looks like an incredible hike and a beautiful day for it too. I've only ever seen wild dolphins once when I was young, so that would be an awesome sight to see. The shipwreck looks insane! Water is so unpredictable. Always bringing the goods with the bloopers 😂
