  • This is my first review to test the Autel Evo LITE, an instant Camera Drone Champion.
The primary focus of this review is to discuss the outstanding capability & performance of the Lite's RYYB camera.
The dynamic range, low light performance, colour science & image detail from this RYYB camera is truly exceptional.
I provide only a very brief overview of its flight capability and intelligent flight modes etc. I do not touch on the Hyperlapse or Defog functions.
Sorry, some of the app screen captures are in low resolution.
The Autel LITE flies similar to DJI drones, with excellent flight characteristics, together with a long flight time..
The LITE easily outperforms DJI's Air2s for camera capability & performance, & its extended flight time.
For low light & night captures, this RYYB filter/camera is the best in the consumer drone category.
This is not the Autel Lite+.
    Autel Robotics website information :-
    World's First 4-axis Gimbal Design
The Autel EVO Lite is the first drone in the world to introduce a four-axis gimbal design, enabling you to shoot vertical videos for easy editing and sharing on mobile devices, plus a rotating gimbal to capture some very unique videos.
    Supersensitive 50MP Camera
Experience a new level of image quality thanks to a supersensitive 50MP camera equipped with a 1/1.28-inch CMOS sensor. The camera adopts an RYYB colour filter array design, which absorbs 40% more light than traditional RGGB arrays, and with superb dynamic range allowing you to capture natural scenery in all its glory.
    Defog Mode
Whether you're flying over a gloomy hilltop at dawn or hovering at the base of a waterfall, cut through the haze with a fog penetration function that automatically adjusts the camera's vibrant settings to make your footage look crisp and clear.
    HDR Video
Retain rich details in shadows and highlights, transforming washed out stills into true works of art, alive with deep, velvety shadows and vibrant pops of colour.
    Instant Focus, Instant Capture
Track fast-moving subjects with a precise autofocus that locks in within milliseconds using a phase detection autofocus and dual focus algorithm.
    Ultra Wide Angle Obstacle Avoidance
Fly faster, safer, and more confidently than ever before with Autel's new ultra wide angle obstacle avoidance cameras. The sensors give the EVO Lite a front field of view of 150 degrees, eliminating more blind spots than traditional systems while reducing the number of cameras needed.
Fly Free - No Lags, No Limits
Fly farther while maintaining crisp, clear visuals with Autel SkyLink, our strongest image transmission system yet, which offers a transmission range of 7.4 miles, transmission quality of 2.7K/30FPS, and superior anti-interference capabilities, all while relaying stunning HD video.
    2.4/5.8/5.2GHz * 7.4 Miles * 2.7K/30FPS
    SonarSound: Hear Everything
Record voices and ambient sounds on the ground through the remote control's built-in microphone, allowing you to bring your videos to life even when your drone is miles above.
    Snap And Share In Seconds
Done shooting? Simply place your smartphone close to the Lite to upload photos and videos at a speedy rate of 160Mbps using the Autel Sky app.
    MovieMaster: Quick And Easy Movies
Apply your favourite templates from the Autel Sky app for quick and easy movie-making, allowing you to drastically reduce the tedious editing process so you can share your creations in minutes.

Hello from the United States! I haven't had a chance to see any footage straight out of camera yet but I am happy to see someone mention the detail as a positive, and not call it "over sharpening". To me, after watching test footage online the detail just looks like the signs of a quality sensor combined with a company that isn't down grading the output to create a cinema line of drones. ( New Subscriber!👍)

@blendersandblox whilst both the Nano+ & Lite have the RYYB filter and I have noticed the Nano+ imagery has some oversharpening, However with the Lite the sharpening has been dialled down. The Lite has excellent optics and imagery is outstanding, in particular with video content. DJI fanboys call out good image detail in this imagery as being oversharpening, however I would call out DJI's imagery as being too soft and indicating inferior optics on their cameras. Each to their own. I've owned and flown the Mavic 3, Air 3 and Mini series, and IMO imagery from the Lite is better than these drones, whilst DJI's software & flight performance is better than Autel.

Excellent review! I couldn't have said what you said about the drone any better. Spot on comments on the attributes of the camera. I've only had mine now a little over a month, and I still haven't gotten around to testing out ALL it's features (tracking, quickshots). This gives me a reason to want to get out every day and fly it some more.

@@ozstrayapanoramas8610 I have now seen you mention that 3 times, "this is not the Lite+". Why? Do you have something against the Lite+? If I have a big interest in low-light photography, why would I choose the regular Lite over the Lite? I really would love to hear your thoughts on that, because I obviously have missed the boat - I thought the Lite+ is a (very) big upgrade over the Lite. Thanks.

The Autel LITE has now become my drone of choice.
An outstanding camera on a good performance aircraft is perfect for my needs.
And I currently own the Mavic 3, Lite+ & Nano+ (plus owned numerous DJI & other brand drones prior) but the imagery results from the Autel LITE are off the scale amazing and is benchmark in many areas..

@@ozstrayapanoramas8610 When you see the details, dynamic range in both luma and chroma of these two drones it is hard to look at any DJI footage because they look look up-converted footages from 720p to 4k. People do get brain-watched by nonsense reviews and ideas how things are when they are not. And if you watch the footage in a 4k and 8k you can see a HUGE difference in quality. But again, people with tunnel vision will always see a brand and not what the product does. Even some of my viewers that thought I was wrong about the Nano+ that got a Mavic 3 Cine realized that in fact the Nano+ is just superior in camera. Another one did even buy my t-shirt because he did a test with people watching in a public tv room and everyone chose the Nano+ footage vs his Mavic. Now that you have a powerhouse in your hand, keep filming!!! And remember that the most beautiful drone shots are the close up flying ones. Everything from the distance looks the same. I always recommend people to tell a story on every scene, at least 3 different angles. And with theses drones you can be making amazing contents. In these days when I am live streaming, I want to show you how to create the visual fx I am talking about with the camera rotating, it is not hard but you need to see the keyframes when to place them so the transition looks seamless and perfect. Also, soon, I will be creating clouds and suns that can be used over the footage to make any shot perfect exposure. That is an old trick we use to film sun even with high end film cameras. The key is to mimic live where people can not tell if it is fake. Transition like this: ruclips.net/video/mc0HYYTmSa4/видео.html that I made.

This is a great review, thank you! ....However, now I'm even more confused. I was all set to purchase the Lite+ (not because higher price means better product) until I watched this review. I'm a professional photographer with stills being my priority over video. I like to have control over my images and work exclusively with RAW files. I'm hesitant to lose the benefit of RAW editing by going with the Lite because the jpegs are really good. Am I really going to notice a big difference if I end up going with the Lite+? Thank you

    • @ozstrayapanoramas8610
      @ozstrayapanoramas8610  2 года назад +1

As I stated in my review the dynamic range of the RYYB camera is outstanding.
RYYB standard imagery edits almost the same as RGGB raw or log imagery.
The standard RYYB imagery results are better than RYYB Raw or Log, and Log & Raw still has a poor colour profile & some vignetting.
I know this goes totally against the rules of RGGB imagery but it is what it is.
IMO the RYYB AI produces better results in standard jpeg or MP4 profile.
Nonetheless the issue is trying to obtain a Lite as they are very difficult to find. Maybe an AliExpress vendor may have one available.
The Lite+ still has amazing imagery, but IMO the Lite produces better results.

Only to get it and realize that's ONLY the lite! Not the lite plus! But all in all. I am very happy with the plus as well! You gave me some ideas as well. I shoot in best settings available but I will change to mp4 and jpeg and see if I like that setting better. I most like the drone because you don't really need to edit at all. Shoot and post! Every so often I'll edit but you don't need to! Still learning her as it's only been three weeks. I will say nighttime flying ❤❤❤❤❤❤ oh my gosh😢😢😢❤❤❤😢😢😢❤❤❤. Beautiful. Autel really out shined themselves this time. Now don't get me wrong all drones have draw backs. Aka things that can improve. • @ozstrayapanoramas8610
      @ozstrayapanoramas8610  Год назад +1

      Dlog is a DJI term.
Yes the LITE offers Log in 8 bit.
But remember the Lite has a RYYB filter.
The RYYB array increases the amount of red light in the three primary colors (yellow=red+green) by replacing the two green pixels (G) of RGGB with yellow pixels (Y). This effectively "reduces the banding" normally associated with RGGB in the color filter process.
The results in 8 bit with RYYB are totally different to RGGB.
