Polyethylene is generally considered safe and non toxic in beauty products. While microbeads are also a type of polyethylene and have been proven toxic to the environment, polyethylene is a broad, broad category and the liquid types found in cosmetics have not been shown to have detrimental effects. Aluminum hydroxide is also commonly used in natural “clean” beauty products (Rituel de Fille, for another example). While it does contain the word aluminum, it is not the same as the aluminum chlorohydrate in deodorants that we should all avoid. It is actually a pigment, ranked with a 1at EWG (vs 3 for the deodorant version). These ingredients are of no concern in these products from a safety standpoint.

Fantastic review! I also wanted to point out to any clean beauty devotees that the drops contain aluminum hydroxide and the stick version contains polyethylene. Personally, I have spent years avoiding aluminum in deodorant so not starting now and polyethylene is plastic, something conventional makeup uses but I have never seen in clean beauty makeup. So confused why these two ingredients get their seal of approval. Only powder is clear of both! Bummed I didn't read the ingredients on the blush, contour and highlight. Hoping WA revamps this at some point.

Hi Lexi! Thank you for the honest demo and review - and those close-ups! I was so tempted to buy the skin tint when it launched but I read the ingredient list (I always do) and expected that the tint would be far too oily for me. If you cannot return the skin tint, you could try mixing it with your Sisley oil-free foundation (in your hands). Thank you as well for your review of the WA brush and comparing it with other brushes. I will be passing on both new products.

I bought this as soon as it launched and I love it. A couple of observations: you seem to be using much more than I do. I put one drop on my forehead, chin, and one on each cheek. I stippled it on to begin with. Then I go back and dot the foundation on areas where I’m red (I have rosacea). Then I powder very lightly only in my t-zone. I have combo skin, brow.

Oh my goodness, fantastic review. I’m wanting to compare this product with the Kosas Foundation oil, have you tried that? I’m holding off on the WA until I finish my Kosas bottle. I actually have combo oily skin, but in the winter where I live the outdoor temperature reaches -20F and even my combo skin needs a bit more oil, especially on my cheeks to prevent frostbite. I wonder if this product would be worth another try for you in a drier season as opposed to summer. I must also add how beautiful your skin looks in the makeup here. I really feel like you are nailing the more sheer skin that is the hallmark of luxury makeup now, it’s a polished spa-look to the skin. I love the Golden Bouquet on you, and the lip reminds me of the Victoria Beckham email we got this week with the new lip tint. Anyway, my point is, I can see the makeup you have on, but it’s the second thing I notice after your polished, radiant skin. I’m striving for this look too.

I got this right as it came out and I now have a product I am stuck with b/c I threw the box away :( I don't like it, I feel it on my face and that is a big 'no no' for me, I was happy to wash my face at the end of the day-I thought this would be more "watery" and lighter, I know this sounds odd for in the demos you'll watch it looks runny, but it feels like an oil + a cream, hence why I feel it on my face-I used my hands and applied it and for one the smell, it stinks, second it's heavy and third, the color selection for me is not good-I need something that has a rose undertone so got shade 4 being it mentioned the peach tone but it's way too yellow based, not peach on my skin-
I tried it again this morning with a small brush and the color threw me off so wiped it off-I think there was a ton more options out there than buying this-
Using this over SPF made me felt like my skin could not breath-If I bought the brush that is suggested, I already have enough of her brushes that are just dollar signs sitting in my drawers reminding me of the ill decision I had buying the brushes, then so much of the product would be absorbed into the brush-Does that even make sense?

Hi Lexi! Great review as always. IMHO one man's dewy skin is another man's oily looking-too shiny skin. I am older than you and I would say I have combo skin, but too shiny skin is just too shiny. I do like to have a variety of foundations because I travel a great deal to various climates, at various times of the year. I always use some amount of powder, particularly to set the undereye area. Too much shine in that area makes one look older. I will grab a sample from Cosbar or Credo (color N) long before I buy a bottle. I like WA, but not everything (bronzer, lip suedes). My only comment (somewhat jaded) is that they have a real marketing strategy in the uber slow roll-out of product. I know they are a small company, and formulate from scratch in Italy, and the pandemic....etc, etc, etc..... But, GW's husband was in the denim industry forever and he (and she) know that if you slowly introduce products and new colorways (ever wonder why the three eye pod colors came out at different times) you get people to buy more products as opposed to having them initially select from a larger offering. I am in the real estate development field and this is a tried and true principal. You NEVER release all of your lots/houses at one time. NEVER.

    • @LexiJong
      @LexiJong  2 года назад

I have noticed the marketing trend and how well it works but I feel like a lot of brands do this and it is smart but frustrating! I did not know about GW's husband but I'm sure he has taught her many tips and strategies like this. You are so right Anya!

Same with Vital skin foundation stick - my very expensive mistake - checked INCI and there was answer to recent breakouts, not typical for me in general, coconut oil - severly comedogonic, so I agree that if you have a champagne taste with a budget of beer - stick to good skin care products not make-up that promises you both😅

I know this video isnt super recent, but I watched this and bought the WA skin tint anyway. I never wear foundation, and figured this would be just a little boost for my skin. Nope, I hate it. It makes me look older than my 40 years!

I have those Koyudo brushes on my list already! 🤣 it cracks me up that they’re FUPA. I’m a child. 🤡

PS: thank you for actually using the three drops. Everyone else keeps globing it on. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Lol! I can't imagine the mess that must make. The 3 is already a lot of product.

Lol. I think that is why they changed the name to the F series but everyone still calls it FuPa.

You need to shake the container. If not, as oil rises to the top, you are primarilary using the product incorrectly and putting a higher ratio of oil instead of the actual product on your face.

Yes I shook the container but thank you! I always preshake all of my foundations and liquids prior to use.

4:15 your brush is disintegrating right on your skin as you apply your makeup 🫣😬

This is just too much oil for me. I hated the Kosas foundation oil product. It reminds me of that. I hated that feeling of oil sitting there and not soaking in

Yes that is exactly how it feels! Great comparison!
