Live at the Apollo is a good way to get a flavour of the vast majority of our comedians stand up .It's been on for years so there are few who haven't been on at some stage . Greg had a pretty good routine , personally I think he's at his best on panel shows with fantastic stories on WILTY and he is the Taskmaster , a great show well worth reacting to . He has acted in his own shows such as The Cleaner .
Yeah he's at his best on panel shows and he's fantastic as the taskmaster. I personally never enjoyed his stand-up nor any of his acting roles, but it's all subjective.
What struck me while watching this was how much comedy has changed even in the last ten years. Some comedians (bar the very famous ones who can’t be cancelled) seem to be afraid of joking about even some of the most innocuous and harmless (though often true) things. I can’t imagine a middling-famous comedian making a joke which even alludes to the differences between men and women, or doesn’t somehow make it into a self-evidently bad thing that a 95 year old man might still be attracted to a 25 year old woman. Everyone here was laughing - including the young women - everybody knew it was a joke with a basis in biological realities. Comedy is really struggling in 2022 due to the constraints society is putting upon everybody
Probably too much to react to, but you definitely need to watch his full stand-up shows. "Firing Cheeseballs at a Dog", "The back of my mums head", "You magnificent beast". All extremely funny, and you learn a lot from his earlier life pre-comedian, and realise how crazy he is.
His stand-up is ok, but I think his tv work is what he excels at, as well as the stuff he's most famous for like The Inbetweeners and Taskmaster there's also gems like Man Down and Cuckoo which I really enjoyed too.
Yeah, this particular clip wasn't up to scratch, but his stand up that's on Netflix "You magnificent beast" is actually really funny. I wasn't expecting much because I felt like you do, and I hardly ever laugh out loud but that had me fucking crying at times. Definitely worth a deek if you haven't seen it. Boomer would like it too.
Just heard your comment about your sailing trip in Greece. I had a similar experience in Sardinia and it's probably, to this day, one of the most memorable holiday experiences of my life.
Hey man, I've not asked in a while and not sure if you'll see this, but I would really like to see you react to "shooting stars" it was a panel show in the 90s with Bob mortimer and Vic Reeves hosting. It's absolutely fucking hilarious. I'm surprised you haven't come across it yet. You will love Vic, they are both hilarious and especially together. I'm sure you'll be able to find a compilation of the best bits. ✌ Oh! And because you love our panel shows, you NEED to watch some "never mind the buzzcocks", there are a lot of best bits videos of that show too. They have regular team captains who are comedians, Noel Fielding is one of them. Oh and Greg Davies stand up "You magnificent beast" is frickin hilarious too!. This apollo one wasn't that funny but honestly magnificent beast is absolutely worth a look!
I remember you did a fonejacker reaction a while ago, in case you haven't seen any of them, he also does facejacker. I really think you would enjoy a reaction for "Terry Tibbs - Come Dine With Me (Facejacker)"
His TV show, "Man Down", is great. Two of his comedy specials, "The Back of my Mum's Head" and "You Magnificent Beast", are both great too. (I can't comment on his comedy special, "Firing Cheeseballs at a Dog" as i've never watched it)
Please try Shooting Stars. There's one video with 130k views titled "BEST SHOW EVER?!?! Americans React To "Shooting Stars - Best Bits" (Previously Blocked)". But I'd start at "The Best of Shooting Stars (Part 5)" and then "shooting stars BeSt BiTs"
If there's one criticism about the Apollo shows like this one, is due to time limits, the material gets heavily edited and cut down and for someone like Greg Davies who is more of a comedic story teller, it kind of stifles his material, the comedy special this is from works so much better because of the larger breaks he can take to play off the audience reaction and the ability to stretch out the rants of the show.
After you've watched inbetweeners you should check out Man Down with Greg Davies, also stars the great late Rik Mayall who is one of Britain's greatest comedians.
Harrison Ford and Ryan Gosling on Graeme Norton for the new Blade Runner is the best Graeme Norton clip I've ever seen ... 2nd would be Bill Murray drunk
If you're on a Greg Davies train, add some episodes of Taskmaster a comedy game show, you will see new faces that may spark your interest, also some familiar faces.
"sometimes comedians act like 'it's just another day', but he seems genuinely happy to be there..." .... hmmmm, should I suggest reacting to Jack Dee or not, lol
If you like wierd check out Greg's older stuff when he was part of a comedy trio called We are Klang, it's a little more risque than his more recent shows.
This was when he was part of a trio called We are Klang. ruclips.net/video/DV5ORbA7_nw/видео.html ref: a lolly pop man is what you would call a crossing guard.
You should watch a BBC series called ‘Gimme Gimme’. It must be about 25 years old but it’s almost as rude as Inbetweeners. Lots old references to Oasis and Spice Girls. It’s about a straight woman sharing a flat with a gay man. Very politically incorrect and makes Will and Grace look very tame. Also the slang is stronger because it wasn’t made for overseas markets so you might need to look some of it up.
What was the greatest list you was asking if we had composed ???? I caught the last three letters _ITS!!! If its what im thinking then OH YES ive got my list!!!!!!!!!!!!
If you want a good stand up of Greg Davies I recommend one called Firing Cheeseballs at a Dog 👌 😊 the other ones that are called The Back Of My Mums Head and You Magnificent Beast aren't as good I don't think 🤷♂️ hope you get to watch those hopefully on the channel or if not then deffo buy the dvd and watch it with the Queen off camera!! 🤞 and if you want a great chat show I recommend clips from Alan Carr Chatty Man 👌
Does anyone notice how Greg look tad like the late great rik mayall What a pair of legends I miss him so much I visit his bench in Hammersmith every now and then to pay my respects and to give thanks for all the laughs RIP Rik Mayall 😂✌🏻
I love Greg Davies. Have you ever seen Bill Bailey on stage? He's awesome, albeit rather... er... odd... Absolute genius of a musician. Here is a link to something short on Conan in 2002 ruclips.net/video/Y5yVh9kATCY/видео.html and here's him performing for the future King ruclips.net/video/DtCPXmnuV6s/видео.html
could you please do some australian comedy reactions, i suggest thank god you're here, an improvisation show that was also on in the uk and us, the youtube with julia zemiro would be a good place to start
Hi you should go and look at one of his first comedy's we are klang it's very funny as far as I know its what started his career and also the taskmaster is also amazing
You want a ranting comic then Rhod Gilbert is your man, the routines that spring to mind are Egg and Cress Sandwich, Luggage and Potato. Also Simon Evans and Steve Hughes are two worth watching.
The only thing I'd point out about r Kelly, is that every word he wrote was for children probably why it winds people up! Love the channel keep up good work, from the Welsh p.s would genuinely think about listening to really though
Anything that’s ‘live at the Apollo’ is watered down material. It’s on terrestrial tv so the comedians are told to keep their material clean and not to swear. I’d suggest watching some of his own stand up shows; he’s actually one of the funniest men in comedy.
I love Greg! he’s now the host of the brilliant ‘Task Master’ where 5 celebrity contestants compete in a series of bizarre challenges. He also hosts the music quiz show ‘Never Mind The Buzzcocks’. You’ll enjoy watching them KB 👍.
It's 💩 like most panel shows its a fake quiz format and the jokes are not even their jokes they are all written by script writers and the show is garbage
@@donny7574 Buzzcocks is a legend of a panel show. Granted it’s not as good as was with Mark Lamarr or Simon Amstell, but I reckon with Greg and Noel is the best remake we’re gonna get and it’s fine. Taskmaster is the most original show on British tv for years, and it’s always great seeing what new tasks the new contestants have to do.
On his magnificent beast tour, he does a joke about a teddy bear his mum made him it’s absolute class 👌
Henning , he’s a German living in the U.K. You must react to him , he’s awesome 😅.
Yes he has been on Would I Lie To You and 8 out of 10 cats as well. Funny guy

If you've not seen it yet. Greg Davies "Man Down" Series 1 with Rik Mayall is absolute gold!
Probably too much to react to, but you definitely need to watch his full stand-up shows. "Firing Cheeseballs at a Dog", "The back of my mums head", "You magnificent beast". All extremely funny, and you learn a lot from his earlier life pre-comedian, and realise how crazy he is.
1000%
One of the funniest relatively clean comedians around. I literally cried at all three of those shows😂
He used to be in a comedy group called We Are Klang
Phenomenal. Well worth looking them up
WE NEED MORE INBETWEENERS REACTIONS 😂💪 love the reactions mate keep up the great work! 👍👌
Live at the Apollo sets tend to be a bit tame because they were aired on Friday evenings on BBC 1 which was a bit more family-friendly programming.
His stand-up is ok, but I think his tv work is what he excels at, as well as the stuff he's most famous for like The Inbetweeners and Taskmaster there's also gems like Man Down and Cuckoo which I really enjoyed too.

Also, cuckoo was brilliant aswell, especially the first few episodes. That one were he accidentally takes drugs 😂
I think you'd love Gregs first sitcom "Man Down"
greg starred in a comedy series where he plays a cleaner who specialises in cleaning up murder scenes etc, that was quite amusing
More Greg Davis! He doesn't get enough love
Just heard your comment about your sailing trip in Greece. I had a similar experience in Sardinia and it's probably, to this day, one of the most memorable holiday experiences of my life.
Love Greg, try his standup videos. “Firing cheese balls at a dog” and “Back of my mums head” hilarious, there are some clips on here

I get the same impression as you about Greg, he always comes across as a genuinely nice guy.
Kevin Bridge standup is amazing
I compiled a list, but I'm 63, and I don't remember any of it.
Watch Greg Davis in the man down tv series with Rick from the young ones or bottom both tv series also
I remember you did a fonejacker reaction a while ago, in case you haven't seen any of them, he also does facejacker. I really think you would enjoy a reaction for "Terry Tibbs - Come Dine With Me (Facejacker)"
My fav 'Fonejacker' character is the guy that rings record shops, sings a tune in a comical manner.
His TV show, "Man Down", is great. Two of his comedy specials, "The Back of my Mum's Head" and "You Magnificent Beast", are both great too. (I can't comment on his comedy special, "Firing Cheeseballs at a Dog" as i've never watched it)
Watch the third one. It's the best of the three lol 👌🏻
I used to have a list but now I'm in my sixties I've forgotten most of it!
loving all the videos you and the queen put up. keep up the work , put a smile on my face after a hard day thanks
You really should check out "Greg Davies - Flo Rida Ruined A Classic" and as much of Taskmaster as possible
It is a great truth that when you get the final list you can't be bothered to use it! haha
Greg Davis is an ex-teacher, of course he can scream!
Seriously you should check out The Cleaner .. Each episode is a stand alone piece and some of them have really nice heart-warming moments
His standup specials are great!

Troy Hawke is brilliant - he picked on me when I was in the front seats throughout the gig. Never laughed so hard.
Royal variety performance 2011 - nicknames. You’ll love it! 😂
Greg is great in Man Down with the late Rik Mayall
After you've watched inbetweeners you should check out Man Down with Greg Davies, also stars the great late Rik Mayall who is one of Britain's greatest comedians.
a couple more Rhod Gilbert recommendations are where he rants about a baked potato and where he rants about his luggage
Hey Boomer, it's probably been mentioned many times before but have you watched any 'Only Fools and Horses'? A classic from the UK.
King, you need to react to his sitcoms 'Cuckoo' and 'Man Down' great shows. Love ur R Kelly story btw😅🤣
Harrison Ford and Ryan Gosling on Graeme Norton for the new Blade Runner is the best Graeme Norton clip I've ever seen ... 2nd would be Bill Murray drunk
He is fabulously funny. Great watch.
His live stand up shows are great..his first is called firming cheesecakes at a dog.hysterical
Firing was supposed to say
Check out Greg Davies interview on Graham Norton!!!

he used to be a teacher of course he can shout !!
Please please please watch only fools and horses, you will love it .
Please, you must react to The Inbetweeners Movie. I'm watching it now, its just so bloody hilarious and even more mental than the series.

I have compiled the list, and in my early 40s, I can confirm that I also can't be bothered - for the most part 😀
Great stuff mate, tall ships are the greatest.

To answer your question; yes and I've just turned 50 and I can't be bothered either :D
Try Greg Davie's stand up about school nicknames and his mistake at The Royal Variety Performance.

He can compare himself to ham (or gammon) of course but others shouldn't.
Its not so much a list of the greatest hits. Its rather the part of the orchestra that I can wing it without being embarrassed when I am out of tune!
Does anyone notice how Greg look tad like the late great rik mayall
What a pair of legends
I miss him so much I visit his bench in Hammersmith every now and then to pay my respects and to give thanks for all the laughs
RIP Rik Mayall

Love the Woo Tang top
Greg is about 6'7" - thats's bloody tall.

Hi you should go and look at one of his first comedy's we are klang it's very funny as far as I know its what started his career and also the taskmaster is also amazing

Also Simon Evans and Steve Hughes are two worth watching.
i enjoyed his rant over buying bedding and also buying a torch withe the power of a million candles
Simon Evans and Steve Hughes are two of my absolute faves
Hey Boomer was just thinking that a show called Little Britain would be your kinda thing
he's great on taskmaster, but you also get to see some really funny moments from the comedians taking part, it's worth doing full episode reactions
The only thing I'd point out about r Kelly, is that every word he wrote was for children probably why it winds people up! Love the channel keep up good work, from the Welsh p.s would genuinely think about listening to really though
I thought you had Jimmy saville on your shirt 😂
Jim fixed it for you 🤣
Bet that dude went home and put R Kelly 12 play on!
GREG DAVIES DID A PROGRAM CALLED "THE MOST DANGEROUS ROADS IN THE WORLD"

Love to Iannis too.
A Liter of chocolate sauce and very tight Lederhosen :)
If you liked inbetweeners you should give Man Down with Greg a go I loved it
