What are the complications for ICL removal surgery? Because removal of the ICL have ruined my vision by giving me extreme glares and starbursts. Is this fixable?
I'm sorry to hear this man, look into getting custom scleral lenses i.e. EyePrintPRO or PROSE to fix your complications. I will be getting the PROSE lenses at some point to fix my issues entirely, sorry to hear you're going through this.
What would be the drawback for SMILE? Since it shaves off part of corneal tissue? Isn’t that worse than PRK since PRK just takes off the epithelial which grows back naturally?
ALL types of refractive eye ops are Russian Roulette anywhere & no surgeon in the world can fix serious complications! 😡 Eyes simply haven't evolved to be messed with!
Yes. Mine never went away. I had it removed and now I still see severe glare and starbursts (no more halos though) so my vision is ruined permanently. This ICL surgery is not as safe as they say it is. I thought removing ICL's would return my vision to normal but it ruined it instead.
When it comes to 'the best' LASIK and PRK should not even be in the conversation anymore. SMILE is the best laser surgery and ICL beats it for reversibility and minimizing dry eye. And you want to be able to reverse that procedure. Prescriptions fluctuate and eye lenses invariably develop problems. It's just so much easier if your cornea remains intact.
Thanks for the providing such a clear explanation with the animations! Was very helpful

Does ICL cause halos or star bursts like laser surgery?
