Deshaun is the problem. There’s no way he should be failing this hard under Kevin Stefanski. In Minnesota, Stefanski revitalized Favre’s and Bradford’s careers short term. He also made Case Keenum in that magical year. And made Bridgewater look better than he really was. If Watson wasn’t focused on those massages, he could’ve been an all pro QB.

I think it’s THE worst trade of all time. Yeah, the Herschel Walker and Ricky Williams deals were epic fleeces, but at least with them they weren’t stuck with a massive cap hit every year from the biggest albatross contract of all time which will likely force them to bleed talent at all points.

@@gunsarefun4618 Correct me if I am wrong, but Aaron Rodgers contract isn't 230m guaranteed right? I don't think Rodgers contract is fully guaranteed. Also, Browns gave up 3 first rounders, 1 third rounder, and 2 fourth rounders for Watson, who was a free agent who didn't even want to play for the Browns. Rodgers at least wants to play for the Jets, he won an MVP a year prior, and is considered one of the greatest QBs of all time.
I would be shocked if we ever see a fully guaranteed contract for that kind of money any time in the future due to Deshaun Watson. I know the Browns haven't had much success over the years, but this is the kind of trade to tank them for a very long time..

What's glfunny is the browns had a playoff quarterback. They threw away the future for a guy that played 5 games inv2 seasons. Gave him the world. By trading away any players of value it helps to ensure the team will suck resulting in a better draft position. That's the easy part. The hard part is maximizing the value of the massive draft capital the team has built up and hitting it big in the draft. The Texans did just that and now have a bevy of young star talent helping the team to rise from the ash heaps of rebuild purgatory.

he has been injured for a while, he actually had it before Indy shut down their QB for the same issue. Honestly, it felt like the Browns wanted to shut him down but wanted him to have a good game. the PJ walker hail mary was proof this shoulder injury has been around for a while. this is now the third video i have seen with this title, a lot of people were waiting for Watson to fail. The man could win a superbowl and you would still have content creators looking for a reason to throw hate on him. Lets not forget Big Ben while in college had a reputation for taking drunk girls into bathrooms and having sex with them, yet you can still find people who will go out of their way to praise him.

The Browns should have kept Baker Mayfield, simple as that.. Yes Mayfield when playing well is maybe about the 15th best QB in the league (give or take), but when they get other things right, that may have been enough. Then again its the Browns and they get way more things wrong than right. This Watson 'deal' will hurt them for years to come. Disastrous situation.

Of all the self-inflicted wounds the Browns have done to themselves, this is probably the one that hurts the most. With Watson out for the season, the Browns lose no matter what they do with him moving forward. They already restructured his contract for cap room, so that means Watson counts for about $64M for the next three years. It gets worse if the Browns cut Watson. Regardless of when they cut him, Watson still counts to at least $155M in dead cap money, quite a lot to pay someone to say "leave, and never return". Money that could have been used to keep Greg Newsome or JOK, who are due for a payday once their rookie contracts expire. It's a no-win situation regardless of whether the Browns choose to keep Watson or let him walk.

As I suggested elsewhere, I think the NFL Commissioner needs to have a say when major trades or big contracts over a certain amount and term are proposed. It would reduce the self-inflicted unnecessary risks and ruin of teams like Cleveland, leave teams enough money to get or keep other critical better tier players, more balance between teams.
