12 years ago, when I was told that we were getting a Live-Action Transformers movie THIS IS WHAT PRIME LOOKED LIKE IN MY HEAD! I'm just so happy we finally got a true and proper Movie Optimus Prime.
As new designs come along. The engineering gets better and better for Optimus prime figures. It's almost kibble free! Plus it doesn't feel like the same transformation every time you get an Optimus.
Peaugh, you are still the standard by which I see all other Transformers reviews spawning forth from. Your review of RotF Leader Prime was I think the first TF review I ever purposely looked up. Over ten years later you are still doing the good work. Keep it up!
I personally think it's a reboot just so we can get past the bay films and leave them in the past. The Bumblebee movie would be them testing the water if they should go with the reboot or stay in the universe.
I don't know how the Bumblebee movie been a prequel can make any logical sense? Isn't the 2007 movie meant to be the first time they've visited earth apart from the likes of Bumblebee and Megatron? The hell.. Did the rest of the Transformers all get amnesia or something?
@@labyrinth6549 I like my hearts of steel theory were the bayverse was a simulated experiment by the shockwave we see in the Bumblebee film to see how the war would turn out.

@@Tangyc9 same. Dropkicks car robot mode already looks better than his helicopter mode. And shatters car mode looks too small. I hope her jet mode looks better.
I just got one yesterday. His transformation is a bit difficult but a bit easier each time I do it. I really love the design because imo, it's a perfect mixture of the G1 and previous movies' designs
Had Hasbro not released Seige Prime so recently, I would say this is the best Prime figure to be released in some time. But, they did, so Siege Prime holds that title for me. Still, this looks to be a solid fig.
When transforming Optimus to robot mde I just learned an easier way to remove the head from the vehicle mode position. If you flip the panel in front of the head apparatus (that covers the gap the head sits in in robot mode) into it's robot mode configuration it automatically pops the apparatus out. That way no awkward pulling the apparatus in a way that keeps pulling it off.

Not a bad main line figure from the Studio Series. My biggest complaint is the width and flatness of that back pack. If they would have added just a few more cuts and pins to have the lower side fold away, it would have gave the front facing silhouette much better lines, especially at the torso.
Okay I just may be tempted on this and VW Bumblebee. Still stunned haven't done the modern Camaro look yet for Bee in the studio series. Two of the older model but that one.
I hope Hasbro does a SS Bumblebee G1-looking Megatron despite not appearing in the movie itself(at least theatrically. He may show up on a extended cut or something) to go along with this guy.
I ran into the same situation with Seige Hound in terms of weapon storage. Both of his guns are able to be stored under the vehicle. You think they leave things like that out for people to figure out new ways to do it on their own?
I've found the trick is to leave those leg panels open, slide the gun in, and then tab those panels closed. If everything else is pegged together securely it should hold in place.
@@maxcettigers9122 this line designed to be accurate to the movies with their characters and scale, I don't think they're going to do something like that for that kind of line since they are all supposed to be movie accurate

Great review as always, thanks. The design also reminds me of Kei Zama’s design for Prime in the IDW comics. I wish they hadn’t relied on a friction joint for that head- does the friction pin actually fit? In PotP especially there were a lot of friction joints that weren’t well sized causing a slight ‘bulge’ on the female part.

Hmm. I wouldn't have used either of the previous Studio Series Primes (SS05 or SS32) to compare...but that's because I think that a better comparison would be the HftD Voyager Battle Blade Optimus mold.
