- Although we are into shearing season we still have a few jobs to finish off at the farm.
Today we are dosing our lambs with Rycoben which is a white wormer targeting nematodirus.
Ewes are being sprayed with Crovect to prevent fly strike like the example you will see in video.
Any questions please ask in the comments
I hope you enjoy
Cammy

ABOUT ME
I’m 32 years old and I’m a sheep farmer from Ayrshire in South West Scotland, which is why I have such a strong accent! I was born and raised on a sheep farm watching my dad who was the shepherd.
At 18 I went away from farming to work in the city (something I still do) and at 23 (2013) I decided I wanted to do something for some extra money so I went on a sheep shearing course. The hardest thing I’ll ever do was learning to shear sheep. [shudders thinking about it]
I shore whilst on my holidays from work for 2 years and then in 2015 my dad died so I decided to get my own sheep so I could continue working with sheep as it was something I loved doing. From there it escalated quickly from my first 4 sheep in my mum’s garden to now running around 850 breeding ewes.
I shore over 19,000 sheep this season in the UK and have my own shearing run which lets you see many different farms in the summer months.
A few years ago I bought myself a sheep pregnancy scanner and have been building up my run since then.
I watched a few farm vlogs on RUclips and decided I could have a go and now here we are!
Thanks for watching my videos and please subscribe if you want to see more in future.
Part of my pleasure in watching these vids is seeing the old stone walls - houses, fences, barns.
Agreed!
That fly blown sheep’s tail looked lots happier once that wool went Cammy….. glorious countryside too Cammy, Lizzy and family.❤️🇦🇺🏴
I like the videos. I understood 60% of the commentary. I'm getting better.
Try watching with closed captions turned on. It is hilarious.😅
Being a mom has me so behind on videos! Lizzy is a real hero. What an amazing family.
Good to see the whole family working together ❤️❤️❤️❤️. Cheers to Marissa for working hard😊👍👍
A boy Cammy another good video 👍.
"Jock's playing with the weedkiller" 😂😂😂😂😂😂 absolutely weak from laughing
What a adorable little boy😊
Note to self
Read the title of the vlog first when I'm eating breakfast 😂😂
Thanks Cammy, Lizzie and crew. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
🙏💜. Thank you so much Cammy Lizzie and shepherd family. Awesome content.
Good thing you got to that Ewe in time! Glad to see that it was just some irritation nothing worse
Scottish word of the day, “sleekit”. Meaning = sly, underhand. Example. “My wife looks for my beer stash whilst I’m out at work. She’s sleekit”. 😳
Or in “wee, sleekit, cow’rin’ tim’rous beastie, O, what a panic’s in thy breastie!”
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤sweet little Farmer and sheeps
You live in such a beautiful country. Love it
Great video and I saw a part of your grazing lands that I hadn't seen before. The trek through the woods was, indeed, bonnie!

Wonderful family affair
That Jock boy! Love im! Angus is growing like a weed too. Lizzy and the rest of the crew are amazing too.
Great video guys keep them up
So beautiful there. Always work to be done, hope you and Lizzy have some down time. Jock gets more handsome each day and Angus is just working way too hard 😅. Thanks for the video.
Awww, Jock is so cute!
I have a huge phobia of maggots but I love The Sheep Game more! I developed my phobia after helping a friend to crotch their sheep when I was a kid of about 12.
Yes, that flystrike is a singularly disgusting ailment on these critters.
Jock is absolutely adorable ❤
Great content… Miss the Meg victory roll 😂😂😂
Great video Cammy keep up the great work done by all of you 👏👌
LOLOL, your intro is fun! I see the dogs are always reading the sheep confidently. Horrible those maggots, the poor sheep or the shepherds having to deal with that.
Fly strike is a very good reason to dock the tail!
I confess, I looked away during the fly strike section. I've seen that before - and having seen it, don't want to again (clearly I'm not a sheep farmer). I wish veterinary science could come up with something systemic the sheep could receive to prevent that awful attack.
Glad you're finally having good weather in Ayrshire.
Fly strike is often caused by a poopy bum.
Such a beautiful path through the woods.
Would be interesting to hear the growth rate of the Dartmoor lambs to the Mule lambs in the future Cammy.Great video thanks.
Yes!
Can that baby get any cuter, he should be in commercials
Had to watch with volume off and CC on.... quite the inventive words CC comes up with! 😂
I watch with CC a lot too and 100% agree with ya!😂😂
Californian voice recognition meets the Scottish accent. Hilarious 😂
Cammy makes comment: Sheep need shearing. Methinks: Hmmm, too bad they don't know any shearers. 😉
Cammy "chasing" rams towards the woods: Lie doon, lie DOON. Sheep: Sigh, if I must, though it's awkward getting up again. 🐏⬇️
Love how you are so relaxed when there looks like a thousand ways for Jock to kill himself around there😬💕🙏🏻
The kid is to cute
The white face Dartmore has stunning wool. I’ll have to look for some of that fiber to spin. I do t know how you do it Cammy but every new video is my favorite. I love the casual go along feel of this one, like we’re tagging along with your eventful day. Thanks! Stay well.
I love the Beltex’s. They remind me of bulldogs lol.
Güzel, rahatlatıcı bir video olmuş kolay gelsin 👋🏻👋🏻🤠
Como é bom ver as ovelhas.
The youngest vlogger on earth just emerged, vlogging without being able to speak, but very clear on his intentions already. From whom would he have it?
Ohmygosh, how that maggot bum sheep enjoyed the shearing, she wriggled it off!
31 degrees C here in NL, and high summer in Ayrshire as well, I see. Let the shearing commence!
FIRST LIKE AND COMMENT😮😮😮
Hi Cammy, loved the video. The boys are getting so big. They are cute as can be.
The sheep are looking good, but aren't they hot?
Take care and stay safe till next time. ❤❤❤❤
3 shirts in 8 mins Cammy. That's a record. Lol
Love the Dalscone merch plug!! I came to you from their channel. Looking good Cammy. Love seeing Jock and Angus hanging out on the farm. ❤
I can’t wait for you to shear those Dartmoors. Their fleece is teasing me. Side note, where did your videos on the Patreon disappear to?
Watch all of your posts Cammy, don't comment a lot cause you have a lot to do besides reading my comments.👍😊😊
Them chunky big bois are hilariously mixed but oh so charming and diverse! Are they the teaser bunch or?
Darling kids !
2 goes at lizy in the space of 5 mins on the video your in trouble big man
Marissa rocking the shorts 😉
More Jock-Cam please! 😄
I got some flack from trading standards as I used to cut the tag where it bends round the ear enabling the tag to swivel rather than rip out when they stick their heads through the fence. I asked the jobsworth lady if there was a specific rule that the tag must curl round the ear? Glad to say I didn’t get a warning letter. Where is the Tepari?
Brilliant
Love the t-shirt Cammy if your are when does it drop?
Shear them and the flies go away
Ah...little fertilizer and weed killer is good for him...he'll grow up big and tall like his dad. p.s. I like your sheep Lizzy
Wedder? I thought castrated rams werer called wethers - or is that just an English word?
I searched for this comment bc I knew someone would have noticed that too!! Yes in US we call them 'wethers'.
@@EmpathBonz As we do in England, where I come from. I just wondered wether (sic) it was slightly different in Scotland (many things are!).
Should they not be sheered at this time ? To keep cool and clean for spring / summer?
What do you do with the wolf if you find maggots and then share?
how many times a year do you sheer the sheep
Yayyyy! I love this channel...and oh im 8th
When did you add the zwartble tups to your line up? What do you plan to breed them to ?
Just teasers John. They’ve had the snip and we use them to syncronise the ewes.
👍
what breed is that little dog running by at 6:35?
Looks like it might be a Corgi? I seem to recall a Cardigan Welsh Corgi or several with Jock's Grandmum... ???
@@lovelightcontinuum thanks! I'm used to seeking Pembroke corgis so that didn't come to mind!
@@jadebrainiac3135 you're welcome! I would probably not have thought of it either if I hadn't seen the other video.
Is it possible for the maggots in the shorn wool to get on another sheep?
Maggots crawl; they're the juvenile form of flies.
@@Cricket2731without a warm moist environment like host body, on the ground either dry out or birds, chickens get'em.😊.
Resflor for joint ill
What we're the clippers you used to trim the ewes bum?
I really hope someone actually looks over comments. My dad has about 10 family/ friend sheep. I showed him this video. He is not tech savvy. He would love to know the best way safely to trim them. Does your shears have a blade cover? PLEASE HELP. Thank you so much. Also need to give a big thanks to hoof GP. His videos lead me here to you.
i think there is a video that he explains the equipment he uses to trim the sheep and also for shearing the sheep. They have a comb on them and maybe a cover for them when not in use, but not certain about the cover. hope this helps.
Would that turn into flystrike?
Is the little dog, that runs after Jock at 3:35, a Västgötaspets or a cross breed?
Where is the tepari crush
Whoever was videoing him shearing that ewe, was obviously more interested in him than what he was doing. I hope it was his wife!
Man thats a thick accent
Proper Scottish =D
Shear earlier.
How about some REAL mugs. 23 OZ mugs. Please. I don't use a small 9 oz mug. Please, Please!!!
I watched four minutes and 51 seconds and I don’t think I understood a single word you said
😂😂
Forgive me I know nothing about this. Why are they so skittish?
PLZ PIN ME I WAS THE ONE THAT GOT A PHOTO W U
I thought maggots only ate dead meat would they eat a live sheep ??
Yes, the fly lays the eggs on soiled wool, and when the maggots hatch out, they start to eat the sheep alive.
This is why shearing is such an essential part of sheep husbandry.
Maggots definitely eat a live sheep . The season for them seems to be starting earlier each year . Yes as Nigel says ,once sheared the sheep are safe from maggots for a few weeks until the fleece grows again and then they have to be sprayed with a product such as Crovect or Click . I now spray my sheep on early May , shear them in June and spray again in July . It’s all more work and money , but no one wants to see sheep crawling with maggots
Need two microphones
Flies are easily one of the shittiest things in the world
It was only close up for like 10 seconds, anticlimactic!
never heard this kind of accent
Spanish
Sheep have horrible lives.😥
toxic vegans be like: NOOOO shearing sheep's wool is abuse
brah you just being Peta bootlicker!
Is this English?😂
Yes but with a Scottish accent
Mornin’ Cammy 🤍just because you don’t see me comment doesn’t mean I don’t watch every single vlog because I do.
I'm actually replying to them all today =D Thanks for always commenting Tammy. And to everyone else who comments despite my poor reply rate just now.
@@TheSheepGame ya know I love ya no matter what 😊
Some head of hair on wee Jock. Those horns on the wf Dartmoor tup look like they’d be good for stick making when he’s older and done breeding.
Females receptive after breeding - pans camera at Lizzy and wee Angus. You’re brave😂
