Stark absolutely swept Fern off her feet with the dancing. The moment where she looked at him with utter shock and then found herself smiling - such a rare occurrence...
@@bobsickle2336 He didn't use rotoscoping ( basically tracing for those that don't know) . He drew it freehand while watching the choreographed dance - which is extremely impressive. He must've been very impassioned.
The dance scene is all hand drawn so they didn't use cgi like in other animes and that makes it even better! Stark has no idea what he's doing to Fern with those dance moves. If you notice that Fern only genuine smiled with Frieren in episode 3 with her birthday but now only with Stark and that saying a lot for someone so stoic. Knowing Frieren she has no idea what's happening between them and that she'll be the grandma to their future children and grandchildren 😂 They better have kids so that Frieren will never be alone!
This is the episode that got me. The father just coming up out of nowhere to talk with Stark and then the reveal of his son and everything with that made the world feel more grounded and realistic within this fantasy world that things happen independently from Frieren. The animation of the dance scene is so spectactular as well, I feel the storyboarding is great here also, scenes feel unique.
"That really doesn't suit you," she says with a smile that lights up the room. And then they danced. And then when Sein finally looks to acknowledge Frieren as an older woman... crash and burn. Meanwhile, Stark and the lord each got a bit of emotional closure in their respective life traumas.
Such a cute episode, but I love how Frieren was so busy eating cake that she didn't even bother to choose what grimore she wanted while Stark and Fern were going through three whole months of training.
As far as the group goes, Friren is the party leader now, taking Himmel's position, Stark is Eisen, Fern is Frieren and Sein is Heiter. But yeah, Frieren is watching Fern as her stand in and Stark as Himmel's. Adorbs.
I thing I don't understand is in the previous team, Himmel was a "hero" while Eisen was a "frontliner". How are these two roles different? Both seem to be physical in nature.
@@thexavier666 I think the frontliner is meant to be like a tank and take on a large number of enemies or draw the attention where the hero is the leader and strategist and fully capable, but more precise.
@@thexavier666 from what I've heard from people who know Japanese, the word to describe Himmel's class can mean "brave" or "hero" so maybe they should have used brave instead of hero in the translation for Himmel's job/class/role. And from flashbacks and stuff seems like this "brave" class is a high DPS melee fighter (kinda like what assassins would be in certain games), while warrior isn't as focused on DPS (doesn't mean they can't kill, it just will take them longer) but it has much higher survivability with high defense, vitality and endurance and all those defensive stats.
Another episode I still love to see again and again and again. I like the first part, but I really love the focus on giving Stark and Fern such a great moment.
Actually it wasnt convient in a wrong sense that the carriage driver had that spell. He literally was a accessories merchant so it made sense he had something like that with him.
I declare Miss Samantha the captain of the Stark x Fern ship😅😅. Those two are just so lovable just by themselves, together they’re even sweeter. Happy Valentine’s Day fabulous ladies 🌹🌹❤️🤍🩷
Actually, Stark's father didn't tell his older brother that it was a waste of time he told his older brother not to "pick on" him. So while he was cruel by calling him a failure he was also protective of him with the older brother even though the older brother was kind and there was no need to be protective. It's something I've that very few reactors have caught because it was so brief.
I was going to comment on this. While I don't have any concrete evidence on this (maybe the manga or future episodes will clear it up) I get the impression that Starks father wasn't quite as bad as Stark remembers him. His impressions are colored by his own flawed perceptions and his insecurities. In the same way that he feels like he "fled town like a coward" when it was actually his big brother who asked him to run.
@@midnight1672 this!! i do love the flashback scene in one of the previous episodes where it showed Stark's older brother actually telling him to run rather than Stark simply just running away. it made the situation have more depth imo.

One of the very few episodes that doesn't have Himmel in a flashback. And for such a simple plot in what would normally be a filler episode, it manages to not only wreck us emotionally, but also advance the story and character development.

I was just like Miss Samoo watching this one, it was definitely one of my favorites from this beautiful series so far. Stark looked so handsome and clean in his formal outfit, I liked him with his hair sleeked back. Fern was looked so beautiful in her white gown, and that dance was on some classic Disney timing.
