This might be difficult, but the new minion damage/spotting boosters as well as the point of spotting boosters if cameras already give a boost. Do multiple stations stack/if there's spare camera capacity? What about the security checkpoints? At some point you should only need a boost or two and the rest is overkill (see: Emma's mostly-useless spotting power boost) What exactly is the rate of loss of a guard station / armory table / advanced table? How much damage does each type of gun/melee weapon do and to each stat? (ex: does stun do more to smarts than lethal? Lethal does more to health than stun? Pistol v rifle?) Do cosmetic loot items like the meteor have any hidden arrangement uses not apparent at first glance?
It may not be possible, but minion combat effectiveness. Aka how much better is a guard then a Merc besides weapon load out options. Is a martial artist really that much better with out the staff etc.
Henchman/ genius pathfinding AI. Many times, I find using Eli Barracuda Jr. isn't as good because I can't order him to go through a door and they just spasm out and not move to the designated location in time. Jubei is OP.
@@luckybenjamin6815 Piggybacking on this: Do big screens not help after (x) of them are manned? What's the cap for the new gold-generating station? Rate of intel generation from a base terminal all the way to the holographic globe and the type of each minion on them (ex: worker v quantum chemist)?
Thanks for the video! I've been wondering this as well playing over the last few weeks. Note to anyone (and yourself), that as of June 8th's patch, looks like they fixed it (sort of) : "All Decor effects have been significantly boosted. Note that an Item can be affected by only one Decor Item at a time, and we are looking at improving the messaging of this in a future patch." While not perfect, might be worth a follow up video if you haven't already done so! Thanks again.
Cheers mate. And here I was thinking they helped make a difference which is a big letdown. Hopefully now that this has been exposed they will actually fix this. Look forward to the next content you make.
Thanks. The devs have been consistent in putting out patches so far, though they've said what their are working on now is access to DLC on old saves so decorations may have to wait.
Wow, I've finished the campaign and I'm still finding more things in the game that are simply broken. I wanted to replay the game at a later time when all the DLC and bug fixes are in but this isn't convincing me its worth it.
One thing to test may be if it affects the Genius, for example, that ability of Z's to make minions do the jobs around her takes Moral, do the Moral + and reduce Moral drain items work for her?
Could you go into detail as to how the various superweapons work? I can't figure out when the science one gives free tech and when it doesn't. And a breakdown of fuel to value for the three levels of burst.
I believe level one gives research any basic scientist could research, level two gives any biologist research and below, and level three is any research a quantum chemist can do and below.
@@dessertrelatedstuff8701 I appreciate the response! I kinda figured the same, but was hoping that @Teddyninja would be able to use it as a video idea too!
They are bloody USELESS!?? Good god. What a waste of space! Hey Rebellion! Fix this! Ugh..... they dont even mess with the objects to have the effect be used if they were to interact with the decorations. This is really disappointing. Thanks for letting me know TeddyNinja!
According to the newest patch notes, the effect of decor items has been "significantly boosted" and items can be affected by only one decor item at a time. I wonder how impactful the items are now.
My feeling was always that they had no effect. I still keep them around in the casino just for decoration but the rest of my base i want as tight as possible.
I have seen a variety in minions attention span at tasks, but could be down to traits or something as I don't pay too much attention. As I play on easy, when I need a task doing quickly I just execute basic workers every 10 seconds or so to ensure everyone working is at max stats.
Truly evil :) What I've seen as the biggest factor in job attention span is the stat pool of the minion. Once you start having minions go all the way up to 100 of specific stats then they can start jobs with a high variance on how long they will be able to keep working there.
I think I've cracked it. Decorations have foot placement. Those need to overlap with the foot placement on a manned position like a security post. Then they work.
Did you test them on specialist minions? It seems like workers do not receive some benefits specialist minions do - for instance, I never saw worker getting "well fed" buff from food.
@@olegtrushin6220 Asking, because items do seem to work on objects, that only specific minions interact with. For example, in science lab with "well fed" buff scientist still had morale draining during research, but putting item reducing morale drain completely removed it, as long as buff was active.
Very interesting you've seen it working in that case. I did some testing on advanced minions specifically and saw no effect. I wonder if there are a few iterations of the decorations that do work, or if the bug affects some games and not others.
I swear I read they'd fixed Casino decorations in one of the two last patches. Haven't checked myself but I feel like they pushed this out the door and hoped no one would notice before they could fix it. Which is ridiculous to think that people on the internet wouldn't be min-maxing and testing this kind of game.
Yeah, given decorations get a whole tab in the construction menu someone should have double checked them. I did a quick test of decorations in the casino and saw no effect. I do know they changed agent interactions with casino games, but I think that's all they touched.
the medical decor actually is supposed to enhance the restore rate of medical devices and other restore stat jobs like beds. If the object isn't green, it does not apply. Problem is, all decor is broken.
Not sure exactly what you are referring to, the devs have been been keeping a regular patch schedule and next patch is supposed to be access to DLC on old saves.
Yeah, I see it as a real possibility that someone wrote all those really early on and then they switched to just make them cosmetic but never removed the tooltips.
I found that scientists would use the wall chairs more often than other minion types so using those in strategic locations can maybe keep them where you want them
Yeah I believe this is because scientists are the shortest on random jobs, (the lazy bums) so if all the items they could potentially be working on are manned and they have their stats relatively high then they will find a chair.
Loved the game... until i realised they will "con us" on DLC's. And now i see that the game wasn't even finished properly. SHAME on the Devs :-/ Thx for the vid. make a update if anything changes pls :-)
I really love the old Evil Genius so this game was on my wishlist, but sadly didn't have the money for it. But after your videos on how broken this game is it is now a definite no buy anymore. It's clear to me the game doesn't work in the intended way and it even looks like the producer didn't even bother programming the features it claims to have. With the dlc on day one and a season pass for a single player game it was falling fast on my wishlist in anyway but this is the last drop.
I loved EG1 and the hype was real for me about EG2 so I have been playing everyday since it came out and to me its still worth both the wait and the money despite some kinks. I have good hopes they will be fixed eventually but really those bugs are not a deal breaker. Still very enjoyable to play and still a great game. I want to say that if you can't handle a couple of bugs every so often you should stay away from new games altogether because that's part of being a gamer. Also bugs caused some of the most incontrolable laughs I ever had so they don't stop me :)
With how much fun I had with the first game, I'm VERY disappointed with the second game. It's just like the first game, only worse in basically EVERY aspect but graphics. How is that possible? And don't even get me started with how much I hate the world map. Tiny icons looking very similar, where I constantly have to pause to handle HEAT on the world map. I'm spending way more time on the boring world map than in the lair. How is that a fun game?
Yeah the world map... There was a knock off flash game called mastermind world conqueror I played years ago that had voiced and animated cutscenes of your minions completing their heists.
Any other game systems you guys want to see tested?
Maybe investigate on how the heat reduction research work and if they make a big difference
This might be difficult, but the new minion damage/spotting boosters as well as the point of spotting boosters if cameras already give a boost.

Thanks for doing the leg work. I was noticing no difference on the items and this confirmed I am not crazy.
Thanks for the thorough test. I really want to love this game, but it's stuff like this that makes it just so difficult.

I thought with the few patches they were supposed to be fixed by now....
I will still use them because of that they look nice!
I think they work only on specialist minions.
I'm kind of glad now that I mostly ignored the decorations.

This discovery makes me sad. I worked so hard on my Communication room w decorations too.
Is it bad that I got a lot of satisfaction from your comment matching your user name perfectly?
This game becomes more shallow every day...
So, after four months, has anything changed about those?
Yep they are fixed, and here's my video on how they work now: ruclips.net/video/YwoJN1CAwII/видео.html

Yeah decorations were fixed. I did an updated video covering them.
@@TeddyNinja thanks. Will check it out
Have you fed this back to Rebellion?
Yeah, I'm pretty sure they are aware. They said the next patch will be making dlc available on existing saves so we'll see when decorations fix comes.
that is such a disappointment. was hoping on them to improve/ recovering some of the minion stats.
Yeah they seem like they offer a cool opportunity to min/max your base.
I think the tooltips were written by... an evil genius.
Yeah, I see it as a real possibility that someone wrote all those really early on and then they switched to just make them cosmetic but never removed the tooltips.
CONFIRMED:
Decoration does nothing except takes up space.
They patched this so decorations do help now and I released another video going over how good they are.
The one that actually worked for me is the sign on cafetari that increasing the rate of restoring smart.
I want your cafeteria now, haha, I did a test in mine and it wasn't helping.
