I had one of the best first impression of any game last night jumping in as hawkeye. I really think the game exceeds any expectations you could have had from presentation to the live service aspects, cant wait experience this games growth over the coming years
YES! Taking a Hawkeye or black widow off of a high ground they didn’t realize was destructible and watching them try to run away is the best moment ever
Shoutout to the podcast within a podcast at the end. I don't particularly care about ARPGs but I really enjoyed the full episode about Path of Exile II a couple weeks ago, especially Xanth's passion for it; so I'm glad to get updated thoughts.
This game did my boy Moon Knight so well. Not too big on the gruff voice but his playstyle is so good and I love it considering he’s been my favorite Marvel hero my whole life
This game is one of the best experiences I’ve ever had, overwatch 1 and this game both will always have a special place in my gaming experience and I am very excited for the future of Marvel rivals
Xanth sold me on Path of Exile. Trying to save money this holiday season but I burned some PlayStation Stars to add cash to my wallet and picked it up. Holy crap. It’s all the greatness I could see in Diablo 2’s remaster but with all the modern trappings. Loving my time with it.
For anyone wondering, I played this on my steam deck and it… works. You can tell it doesn’t work great, but I played a successful match against bots. I was too scared to try against actual people. Plus side during the winter months is the steam deck becomes a space heater when you run Rivals.
PLEASE do a Sekiro sweater for the best videogame ever, we might die twice even three times with out one its cold in the streets. Andy Cortez please help us.
Personally, I am only liking a few chars so far sadly, to play that is. Punisher, Rocket Racoon, Wolverine [of course] and Winter Soldier maybe and surprisingly, Ironfist literally kicks arse. Jeff the Land Shark could be the GOAT though :D
Yeah the characters kind of carry the game. It’s strange that the media chose to really hype this game over Concord as I feel like that game had the more polished gameplay experience and you could see why that was a product you had to pay to play compared to this one.
Marvel Rivals is my first hero shooter. I played maybe a game or 2 of Overwatch, not biggest fan. I am IN LOVE w Marvel Rivals this game is SO MUCH FUN. and for day 1 I had no crashes and v little lag (that was my fault not the games,) and I was floored. It is so much fun and had a smile on my face the entire time. I can’t WAIT for the future of this game
Same I never liked overwatch but I played this game for like 5 hours yesterday. Absolutely in love with this game. The art, the character models, the gameplay and everything all around
PENI PARKER has been a blast for me! Lol Step1: shoot web at my feet to keep my health regenerating over time. Step 2: Hold teams back in with mines, webs and my auto attack! If played correctly Peni can be a huge pain for opponents. Love the game so much more than Overwatch!
Was up til 4am last night playing Marvel Rivals😅. First competitive online multi-player game I've played in like a decade and I'm loving it. I agree with Mike that movement options need some tweaking. A universal sprint, double jump, and crouch would do wonders
I love this game - I think the Marvel IP allows easier entry point to newbies even 1 year or 2 years from now rather than overwatch which is very not easily accessible for new starters imo
I haven’t seen one immediately die except for when he jumps into peel and the strategists, but I am getting interesting lobbies it feels like a lot of time it’s close games or we curb stomp but I’m playing with old overwatch friends and we were all in diamond-gm
The game is decent but so far I am not blown away by it. The major issue is that it feels like youre playing a first person game in third person so the shooting feels a bit awkward and the melee attacks feel very stiff. Also, the onboarding for new players is kinda terrible, the tutorial is hidden in a mess of menus and even selecting a character is kinda confusing because the select screen is this horrible wheel thing that feels really cumbersome to scroll through. Speaking of onboarding, another issue is that the amount of characters at launch seems a bit much. One of the reasons people struggle to get into (or back into) Overwatch now is the overwhelming amount of characters to learn and this has a crazy amount from the get go. On the plus side its Marvel so will probably be supported enough by players to allow the developers to improve it over time, as it does need some major improvements as of right now.
The tutorial is extremely easy to find unless you’re brain dead. I agree about the character selection screen. Too many characters should never be a complaint.
@@spiderjeff5845 There isnt a "change mode" option at any point, I also never said anything about practice. The fact that you just said several words that dont even appear on the screen shows how convoluted and confusing it is.
@ what? When you are on the play screen you can change the mode. When you click on that just change to the next page,l by clicking RB if on console, it’s not hard. You’re slow
This game looks kinda dull.. do every melee chars feel unique or are they 80% similar? Looking at the Hulk game play, just wailing his arms, a smash.. repeat. idk. Guess i have to try it. But it feels like a lot av Marvel projects get an automated stamp of approval..
It's a hero shooter, so each of your attacks have unique effects that might not be obvious when watching a trailer. Hulk can shoot projectiles, immobilize enemies, convert incoming damage to charge his big attack. And that's besides his transformation mechanic between three forms with unique skills. People want to like marvel stuff, but a bad game will still flop. Didn't the live-service Avengers game get shit on?
The game is great! I only wish there was a sprint button and that characters couldn't be killed so easy before popping off their Ult's. Also there's a glitch where my stats were erased and now, no matter what, it says I've only played 10 min when I've put about 6-7 hours in
Not a fan of marvel after infinity war. I loved OW1 and hate OW2. I really think this game is going to struggle when it comes to hero balance, team up abilities, and keeping a player base of people that care about it. I think it’s a good game, but it’s Overwatch marvel in 3rd person. There’s nothing special about it, the animations are okay, the voice acting is god awful, the music is mediocre, the balance is bad, the gameplay is fun depending on who your team is playing. Movement is clunky, hit registration is inconsistent. And it’s very difficult to tell what’s going on. There’s a lack of game structure that OW had, there’s a lack of goofy and game breaking moments, there’s a lack of passionate people in voice chat. Over saturated genre from an oversaturated franchise with every woman in the game being 18-20 and having skin tight revealing clothing. Anyone who is passionate about video games enough to be honest will not stick with this game very long. The good parts of the game are things taken from other games.
I do not like this game AT ALL! This has to be one of the worst times I've ever had playing a hero shooter. Movement is so bad. You can't mantle, as stated in the video, but you can't even sprint (unless you are using specific characters, and then it's tied to an ability on a cool-down, unless I've completely missed something with the control scheme!) When you die it takes forever to get back to the action, firstly because of the replay (somebody tell me that I can remove those in the menus), secondly because the respawn area is always a mile away from the action & you can't sprint to get back to where you want to be. Combat is so bad, also. Shooting and meleing is too slow and doesnt feel impactful at all. TTK is too low (too high?) I don't want the ridiculousness of COD where you die in 3 bullets, but I don't want to have 20-second long 1v1s, either! Everybody compares this to Overwatch, but I've never played that, & if it's anything like this... THANK GOD! 🥺 Those of you enjoying it, I wish I was one of you, & I'm jealous.
Yeah I think its gameplay feel is not on the smoothness level of something like Overwatch. The best part about the game right now though is that everyone is on equal playing field trying to learn these characters and just having fun with all the crazy abilities. Once that wears off I'm curious how the game will be, but I'm just gonna enjoy it for what it is right now. I don't need this to be something I sink 500 hours into.
Like I said in my own comment the issue is that it feels like a first person game you are playing in third person. Like when you play Skyrim or Fallout in third person.
In Moon Knights lore section he comments about how Dracula owes him money. We’ve come full circle 😂
I had one of the best first impression of any game last night jumping in as hawkeye. I really think the game exceeds any expectations you could have had from presentation to the live service aspects, cant wait experience this games growth over the coming years
My thoughts exactly! Every character has this feeling of power where you feel like if you learn this character you can take a game over
I'm not used to this style of game so it might be a learning curve for me... I'm glad you enjoyed it though
snowbike mike is the best thing to happen to kinda funny
He is a national treasure! That must be protected at all costs 💎
It is deceptively deep. I was like "Oh, destructible enviornments? Thats cool." To dropping players through holes in the floor to be fed to my team 😂
YES! Taking a Hawkeye or black widow off of a high ground they didn’t realize was destructible and watching them try to run away is the best moment ever
Whoa, Mike sans-stashe is something else. Can't lie, I think I prefer the stashe, but looking great either way!
It's like Tom Tucker from Family Guy without a stache
Pretty jarring at first ngl lol
Faxx. Bring stash back
Making wolverine look like that while selling a better skin is a crazy blend of genius and evil
Still don’t like the Hugh Jackman beard poking through, waiting for a better one.

If I had to give it a score I would give it a 8/10.
Game is a ton of fun. Idk what it is that’s making it more fun than other hero shooters for me, but I’m enjoying it

That wouldn’t work for this type of game. The whole point is that each character moves differently.

I feel like alot of people play solo sometimes it can be hard to get everyone on tyne same schedule with life happening on a day to day basis
How do I link my Xbox and PS5 games?
Does it have cross-progression?
I would pay to listen to Xanth read me an audio book.
Played a few hours and I’m not totally sold on it. Need to play more.
Game is so damn good. Can’t wait to play more ASAP.
Where do I buy that sweater???
You know it's a journalist lobby, because wolverine didn't immediately die jumping into the backline

Peni is the goat tank
Shutout to Xanth! Fine I'll get the game and lose my life to it 😂
well I'm buying that sweater now
I can't find where to buy it 😢
What monster is that?
But how are the achievements? 🤔
I love Jeff
