Thanks for posting this. I've been using my M11 with my iphone for two weeks now. I learned a few things from your video. I saw that I can keep the wifi from going into sleep mode. Please.keep the videos coming.
thanks for all your videos. just wondering if you have tried triggering the shutter of M11 through usb-c? reason: I want to connect the m11 to my Syrp.
I noticed that aperture was not available on the remote...is this an older manual lens or do all Leica lenses require physical control of the aperture please?
Hi Matt. I am not sure how to transfer photos from internal memory to SD or to a computer. I guess I can attach a cable but do not want to risk it. Thanks for your help.
Hi - you can safely connect your M11 via USB-C to your computer. Please use the USB-C cable shipped with the M11. After connecting, the computer should then show a folder where you find the images on internal storage. If you want to see exactly how it works, look into the manual leica-camera.com/sites/default/files/pm-73222-Leica-M11_Instructions_en.pdf and go to Page 83 "Data Management". You find instructions there. Happy New Year!
Great video. The cable connection is something I've been wondering about for a long time. Now I'm very interested to know what kind of resolution and frame rate you can get from the iPhone (or an iPad) screen recording! This gives the M11 a strange video feature no one asked for. I can just imagine the incredibly unique looks this would give to all modern M glass.. like the 35mm APO macro mode!
Hi Math, thanks for the videos. I must have watched them all 😉. On another subject: do you know if a silver handgrip is on its way or if the black will be the only one (I have the m11 in silver)? Thank you
Ok. So this Video is 2 years old. But I need answers. Haha :) I am trying to connect my M11-P (Love the Camera by the way, one of the best experiences when it comes to photography!!) via Cable to my PC so I can download all the pictures I took. Unfortunately, it does not show up as a Drive. I set it to PTP in the menu. Any ideas?
I have a nagging suspicion that even with the cable, it is still using wifi, and in fact only uses the cable to set up the connection. At least on mine (it finally arrived) i don’t see any difference in performance between wired and wireless.
If you have access to an iPad with a USB-C port instead of Lightning, you could see if it speeds up using a high speed USB-C cable (Thunderbolt 3 or whatever Apple calls it). Lightning is slow, and that's why the Prores video codecs are considered a hassle on the new iPhones: it takes forever to transfer them off the phone. I think it's very unlikely that they're doing it wirelessly, because there's always a significant chance of the connection dropping during a long transfer, and if you're moving a pile of 60MP images all at once, that likelihood of a connection loss will be very high. If the cable makes it more stable, that's at least one advantage.

Hey i was considering the M11 for photography, is tap to focus or manual focusing an option available on the fotos app?
Can’t seem to get the cable connection to work on an iPhone 15 with USB C.
This is a super helpful video! What is the model of the tripod you're using?
This is great! Should be implemented in the SL2S as well.
can you demonstrate how easy to geotagging images from the apps on Q series
If Apple ever change the iPhone to USB-C, you will find the connection significantly faster. You can test this on a new iPad with USB-C.
I have an iPhone, I just need an M11 now 😁
You don't need an M11. With that money, you can buy a bag full of modern photographic material.
Leica is a fetish.
If you connect via WiFi does your iPhone lose WiFi connection to your home network for example or are both simultaneous.

Shortcut: use the Wi-Fi icon on the start menu instead of going into menu page 4, to turn Wi-Fi on and off directly.

@@spyhardman Good point. I do have an iPad Pro M1, so will give it a spin with that. Need to find a cable that works first, it's very finnicky...
Hey, does it work both ways? Can I use the camera and app vis versa? And thanxs for the great content!
No C1pro tether shoot.. omg
