Hey looking at building a first bike or maybe a second bike with a sports bike as a first. Kinda want a harley engine built up but expensive. And also insurance would be killer. What's a starter recommendation for a drive train.
I have no experience in building but I would love to buy a bober for 6too 8 thousand bucks..I was in a wreck and because of injuries I need forward controls and I'm in my 30s now so a harly style bike is what I probably need..I love bikes and cant go without one.. i dream of a simple cool bobber to cruizeon i got a damn scooter this year hattoseeificoyld ride with my messed up left leg and honestly if I dared..so nxt spring I'm gna have to find a bike that can actually keep up with traffic sorry forte long reply. I'm hat exited to be back on the road
i found 1999 honda shadow 600 for 800 usd, removed the decal of the tank by sanding down and then repainting, I repainted the frame and removed all rust, put about 20 hours into restoring it, installed custom indicators and levers, total was 1000 usd so 800 usd for bike and 200 for parts and restore and its now the best bike ive owned, have a few panigales and this is now my daily, love it
People with a gift such as yours may not realize how amazing this all seems to most of us. I have the eye to appreciate the hell out of this gorgeous machine. I'm glad I have at least that !
Don't sign up for a welding class. Buy a welder, and learn yourself. RUclips has a guide for everything. I bought a super cheap welder and built my bobber with almost no practice LMFAO. A lot of grinding, but it turned out nice.
Yes ya can do it! I built my HD Rigid Evo. All new parts sourced online from various vendors and Ebay put her together in my bedroom (ok I was single then lol) had her inspected for the title/tag for $6312.00 Total and I built new no donor bike. I started with the motor cases and went from there. Ordered a new part every payday and insured I got the scoot I saw in my head. 89" Harley Evolution Big Twin 10:5:1 comp. motor with a decent cam running through a 6 spd tranny in a rigid frame. quick fast and maneuverable for city traffic. Do the work yourself with all the info available online and youtube aint nothing ya cant do with a little patience and practice. Hell I even learned how to weld during this build. Been riding this bike since '08 daily rider don't own a car don't want one
@@SP2X1369 Good looking scoot Bro. That's what I'm talking about, back in the day we had to make our stuff work. Ya couldn't go online and get nothing. Ya made it or yer Bros made it.
That's so bada$$. I love budget builds. This was in my recommend for some reason. I've never even ridden a motorcycle and I'm 40 & from the Midwest. I still love it man.
I watched this video multiple times but still watching again yet feeling happy, i live in India where we dont have great bikes, stupid industry has useless bikes. I wish i could have one of this kind. Great inspiration, lovely bike.
In 2024 I bought a Kawasaki 1600 cc Vulcan Nomad bagger with 30K miles, 2 owner garaged, for $3250. Looks great, sounds great, runs great. Love it, came with Vance and Hines Pipes and Mustang seat.
Had a low point in my life five years ago cost me everything. Lost my lil ironhead but its time to get back in the wind mind and body are clean and sober now so its now time for my soul.
I bobbed a VLX600 back in like 2011. I got rear ended at some rail road tracks and the only way to salvage was to cut the rear sub frame off. I got a VTX1300 that I have sitting in my garage but the problem is I tried to put a new air intake on, switched a jet, needle and messed with the A/F mix set screw and now I can't get it to run right even after reverting back. The other problem is that I have a 2020 HD Deluxe sitting next to it that is nearly 1800cc so I am actually hoping to get this VTX out my garage and hoping someone like you that wants to tinker will take it.
My cancer may be back after two and a half years N. E. D. . If it's back and advanced. I want to put together a bobber and just ride as long as I can before becoming debilitated or death bed ridden. What is the quickest I could put something together like the one in this video ? Cool bike. Peace

If time is an issue go with a bike that is popular on the internet so you can get ideas and have your questions answered by a simple Google search . I hope this helped

Bike turned out great I’ve owned several Honda 650 and 750 four engine bikes they are reliable as heck the only thing I found to be any problems is on the 1981 thru 83 models Honda did not upgrade the charging systems to keep the battery charged when running the headlight day and night , so my easy fix was to wire in a on off switch for the headlight and ride daytime with it off if a cop pulled me over I just turned it on for him and acted like I just forgot to flip the switch because I ride the bike with the headlight on mostly at night time after dark on my way home from working in a restaraunt
I'm building a custom mini chopper right now. Literally have no idea what im doing im in about 500 bucks right now. Its coming together pretty nice im waiting on my tires to come in so I can finish up the engine mounting and what not make sure its lined up with the rear sproket. Its got a predator 212 its made from some steel tube I had laying around and some parts off a mongoose bike I had. If this one works I might try to make a better one.
My dream is to build motorcycles and lowrider cars. Everytime I see a video like this it makes me want to quit doing construction and driving truck to build bikes and cars. To have these skills and to have an eye for detail and design is the hardest part. The work and building isn't hard at all, it's the details, design and finding parts to make whats in your head come alive. Living in California and having these types of companies everywhere is a major perk to building anything like this. It looks amazing, you did a great job, I'm definitely liking, subscribing and sharing this video. Great fuckin job though, and the FTW brake light is cool as shit.

I kinda did... but in my country we cant change the frames. So I rebuilt a Suzuki Intruder vs700 into a bobber/chopper without cutting the frame. I still have a double seat since I couldn't cut the frame (and because I have a couple nephews who are soon old enough for a long awaited ride along!) But I basicly stripped all unnesecary wheight off, simplified electrics and threw on apehangers, an ammo side box and gave it a matteblack/white skulls spraycan paintjob and a bit of red blood dripping pinstripe... I love it, and it didn't cost much but it draws attention like a mofo! -I can't stop anywhere without someone creeping up to ask questions. LOL Edit: My cost was a bit over 4K$ including the bike...
I love inline fours. Great build! You found some nice deals and yes, if you can fab stuff yourself, all the better! Not a fan of wheels with no fender in case of road trash or unexpected rains. But still looks great. Thanks for your video!

I'm thinking of building a kit or piecing a bike together. End goal a little nuts but work my way up. Kinda want something that will drive kinda like a harley with the lower rpms but still be able to get up and go into higher rpms but not quite sport bike territory. Thinking like 7200-7500 redline. Torque curve relatively flat from 2200rpm to 7000. 120 to 130 ft lbs of torque should give a final hp of like 150 to 170.
Thinking a 6 speed transmission but also seen the 7 speed gear set for Harleys but not sure.
Not sure if I'm gonna put induction on it or not. Might need it for engine characteristics. Fuel injection most likely. Kinda prefer the look of chains to belts. But reliability so yeah not sure yet. Wider rear tire but not a full on 330. Want a slightly thicker tire as well so it can handle off road and tune grouns clearance. Probably 18 inch rims.
Idea is a bobber style bike keep it relatively narrow and easy to get around tight spots. Not raked out. Low profile frame and a neutral seating position. Ape hanger bars. Low front end on the frame so it keeps the bars able to be tall without going over shoulder height. Won't necessarily be a true bobber as it's not gonna be as stripped down but have the look.
Smaller fenders. Rear attached to the swing arm for the tight fender look hard tails have. Springer seat. Kick starter but also a button starter. Still figuring out the gauges but minimalistic.
Keep it relatively low but decent ground clearance. Up right position with a shallow rake should help with steering and responsiveness.
Trying to decide between an aluminum frame or a street one. Trying to keep it light weight as possible. Still want it heavy enough not to wheelie. Also thinking a larger tank capacity.
Not sure it'll meet my needs but kinda want that 94 cubic inch knuckle head style engine s&s does. Might go with something different though and see about finding a random sports bike v twin I can play with in the bike first to keep insurance down.
Won't be the most aero bike hence some extra hp and torque to overcome drag. But mostly to drive around normally. Kinda wanna play with the gearing. Have it keep a similar top speed to some lesser sports bikes but pull way harder at the beginning but not run out in higher rpms. Won't be a super bike or even some race tuned 750s but should be good enough.
Probably gonna find some lace and go lace paint job since it's easy.
Gonna see if I can figure out a good set up so I can have traction control wheelie control and anti braking but on an easy switch control that's low key.

I have an 01 Road King FLHRCI that is wrecked and I wanted to use the motor and transmission from it in a rigid frame but it looks like no one makes a frame that I can do it with. I want to use the stock front end to.
@Ben O They have one but I would have to use a four speed transmission not the five speed i have.. I have always had four speeds and I forget I have a 5th gear in my 02 FLSTC sometimes.I don't have a problem with a 4 speed but I have a 5 speed I want to use. I am not sure why i would need a 6 speed I don't ride at 85.
