The level of thought you put in for your customers is inspiring and touching. Fantastic job!
Congratulations wonderful dress
At your age, to have two patterns published with a major company is a huge feat! I’m so impressed with the expert thinking that went into making an affordable, yet stunningly beautiful costume. You’re amazing!
“People love outtakes” 😜, yes people do. Thanks Angela, interesting background story.
I really love how you made useful changes but then described how to do it if you want historical accuracy. You rock.
LOL! I know all about that whole changing into costume in a Ren Faire bathroom thing. So all those changes are much appreciated. Can't wait to finally get my hands on this one.
Or in a school bus, or in a tent... yeah. Ease of dressing is most appreciated.
Ren Faire bathrooms and changing in tiny, tiny tents...ahhh the nostalgia! :)
Changing in and out of regular old street clothes in a tiny tent is an adventure, so added fabric and volume just takes it to another level...basically doing anything in a tiny tent is near impossible. lol
SOOOOO true haha! Although, I still maintain that hoop skirts + portapotties is a special level of hell designed to punish you for that extra dessert lol
With a few minor tweaks, fabric selection, etc., this would make a beautiful wedding dress. Great job, Angela.
You've done a beautiful job, and I appreciate the "getting into it by yourself" changes. Congratulations on becoming a McCall pattern designer. It'll really help show the world your talent and maybe improve the quality of outfits seen at the fairs 😉. Have a great day.
I love all the thought and time you obviously put into creating your patterns w/ McCalls; so many options for any number of needs! Thanks for sharing your sewing adventures with all of us!
I'm currently using your M7885 (modified a little) to make a 2015-edition Cinderella ballgown! The bodice is the PERFECT shape! I also purchased this one and will modify it to use for a Rapunzel costume! It's so helpful to have a historically accurate starting point (most commercial patterns designed for Disney costuming/cosplay are extremely subpar). Love love love it, and congrats on your success!
Last Halloween I went to buy McCall's old Renaissance dress and they didn't carry it. I'm so glad you made a new one!
Wonderful design! And people do love outtakes🤣! The best selling pattern is so cool and exciting, and I have no doubt this one will be too!
This costume spotlight totally gives the impression of a Renaissance Lady making her way to and from church :)
I saw it and immediately thought, "This is surprisingly inauthentic for this seamstress. " Having watched the video, all I can say is Bravo, well done.
just in time for the Ren Faire season! Congrats!
I saw this pattern in passing (during one of my long stints of online pattern shopping) and I thought this was a very sophisticated looking pattern. My biggest problem with some "costume" patterns is that they can look so hokey, cheap, or silly. I appreciate the level of care and authenticity that you brought to this design. I look forward to more of your work!
People love outtakes LOL! I love this pattern! I attempted a ren character cosplay a few years back and wish I had this to go off of. Congrats Angela-I hope to see more soon!
I am so excited for you!! You should be so proud of yourself!!
He is correct. We do love outtakes. That little pout and jump made me think of Ever After. "...there was a bee...."
I already have both your patterns and I am very excited to make them this summer when I have the time. I'm looking forward to more of your patterns, I will buy them alllllll
So glad they are doing the patterns in the larger sizes. I am super happy you have more patterns.I have paused the video to write these comments. I am hoping to be able to get these in Australia.
I'm SO happy for you. You deserve this McCall's deal and you're just so talented.
I am so glad you have a renaissance pattern available and in larger sizes than your first one. I bought the first one even though I’m a 22 in patterns and don’t anticipate making it for myself. I’d love to see more Renaissance patterns - particularly mid 16th century or more middle/merchant class
Congratulations! I love that you've considered the real practicalities of wearing the piece day to day. What a wonderful achievement.
One of my fav videos from you! Congratulations too are in order. You go girl!
Angela, you are so clear in your descriptions of history and method. I so appreciate it. And you are just lovely in your creations. You inspire me.
You are undoubtedly one of the most talented people on RUclips. I can hem trousers and stitch on buttons, but that's the extent of my sewing skills, and seeing how you take a bunch of fabric and some other doodads and make gorgeous garments like that and your early 1900s shirtwaist/skirt that you posted earlier absolutely astound me. You explain everything so well and so clearly, even though I don't have the education/knowledge about fashion that you do, I can still understand what you're describing.
I'd love to see you make one of Kate Winslet's costumes from Titanic - either the blue outfit she wears for the "I'm flying" scene or one of her dinner dresses.
just wanted to say, i love hearing you talk about your costume! you sound so happy to talk about it when describing it, i can hear your smile! this is a beautiful design and an absolutely gorgeous finished product 💕
Just discovered your channel. I must say you are a young woman of vision and diligence. And one with tremendous poise! I am excited by your career prospects!!
Congratulations on your beautiful patterns with McCalls. Can't wait to get both of them and look forward to future patterns. God bless you!
We DO love outtakes, no lie.
I really appreciated hearing the thought process behind why you made the design choices you did, I hope you will continue to do that for future designs! It was nice to hear that you considered both the needs of the customers, and what is already on the market.
It is so odd since I have never "met" you personally, but oddly, I feel pride for you - what an accomplishment!
Congratulations!!! You did an absolute beautiful job and how wonderful for McCalls to show your talent to all us sewing. I look forward to what you have in store next;)
Love this new pattern, too! And I was just at JoAnn's, too...and passed up on the last two yards of cream colored dupioni silk that was on the bolt.
Beautiful! I'll have to pick one up this week! I'm already envisioning this gown in shades of green & gold! I'm so excited!
Sarah Walker I was thinking dark blue😀
I always love seeing your patterns, so glad you are having the success you deserve. Makes me wish I could sew but my talents are pretty limited. Thanks for sharing this video and I look forward to the others all being announced in their turn in the future. Your so gifted a designer it's a pleasure to watch your creation process. The design sketches make excellent framed art especially for those with a love of historical costume.
I am so very happy for you. What a beautiful and thoughtfully designed dress!!Bravo young lady, BRAVO!!!!!
I’ve watched this video a dozen times now and have finally gathered all the materials to make it!! I’m so excited 💗💗💗
I used to work at a Ren Faire, and I would have loved this costume! Congratulations on the new pattern with McCall's!
Loved this video! It is so awesome to see your creativity and skills going into making a pattern for a major company. I haven’t been seeing for a few years and browsing patterns now is totally different than 5 years ago. So many great options for cosplayers and costumers. Love it!
Gorgeous work! I'm so glad your patterns get their much-deserved attention.
Yes we love outtakes! MORE! Also, such a beauuuutiful pattern, it looks so comfy!
I am so happy! I finally had money to buy your first pattern and now I can buy both your patterns at once and they were discounted at that! I cannot wait to start sewing but now I will have to choose which to do first :') I love the way you keep in mind how the costumes have to be put on without help and costs effective sewing! I have been in love with your costuming for years and creating a costume with your pattern is such a dream :) anyway! keep your awesome work going!
Angela, your success is well deserved. Congratulations. You are making museum quality work accessible.
I just got this pattern! Gutted that the chemise wasn't included. YT search hoping for a work around and lo and behold the pattern maker herself!! Hoping you made that tutorial for it lol
Woohoo! I bought your last pattern in February! Yay for contributing to your record sales! Can't wait to purchase this one as well! I love your videos and designs.
Another published pattern! Way to go, Angela! I've been watching your channel for almost 2 years now, and it's been inspiring to see you pursue your passion and make it into a career. I think it's so cool that a well-known pattern company reached out to you and also that you get to model your own patterns in their magazines. I hope to buy the pattern for your 1890's costume soon - it's one of my favorite costumes that you've made!
Keep up the amazing work! (I'm looking forward to seeing what your next published pattern will be!)
~Darla
People DO love outtakes. Hehehe. Congrats on pattern number two! Very well thought out pattern!
Oh great! I was just looking for a pattern from that period, and yours looks like just the thing. I especially appreciate that you for people like me, who can't sew without a pattern... But also can't leave one alone! Will be buying as soon at it surfaces in France, and thanks again!
haha, outtakes are great!...love this design and thanks for giving it an explanation and intro. with your description im confident that i can possibly give this a go with little disaster...thx so much for getting your designs out:)
I can't wait to get both patterns! Your work is stunning! Thank you for sharing it!
Wonderful video. As always. I'm so happy for you. And the dress looks beautiful.
Wow, I was just thinking earlier today that I had no idea how to make the chemise that goes with this dress. I'm looking forward to your video on it.
Just beautiful & so romantic. Lovely design and fabric choices.
I just bought both of the patterns because McCall's was having a sale, I'm so excited!!! I'm a beginner sewer and have little to know experience sewing but I am so excited to try and make these pieces when I'm able!
It turned out beautiful 😭 I always fawn over your beautiful pattern collections when I'm shopping! You are correct about the scenery in islip lol. I moved from WA state to suffolk a year ago and it's definitely been a bit of a culture shock lol. It makes it so much cooler that you're here tho! 🙀💖
Woow, those pictures at the end are wonderful. I really love it.
I'm in love! I've been craving for a pattern like this for so long. Thank you for all your effort, it's really appreciated
I was so excited to see your patterns on McCall's. So super happy for you.
Love the 16th century Italian dresses! So flattering and fun. Congrats on the new pattern!
People do love outtakes! So proud of your success! Love the videos and hope you are able to work with Mcalls more!
So excited to make my own!! I would LOVE to see a video on the chemise it’s absolutely stunning! So excited to buy the pattern❤️❤️
This is beautiful! You are incredibly talented! I look forward to collecting your patterns as you design them. I haven’t sewn for years, but I do still collect the patterns.
Angela, you are such a creative genius!
This is the next pattern I'll be buying!!! I'm so glad you made this and can't wait to make a dress for my next historical event.
Absolutely love this pattern, I'm making my first Renaissance dress right now from a different pattern, I can't wait to make this one!
O splendid! Congratulations! The recognition of your talents is well deserved!
This pattern should be in my mail any day now :)
Congrats on your partnership with McCalls! The dress is beautiful and I love all the thought you put into everything
People DO love outtakes! LOL I'm so very happy for you! I've been hoping for YEARS to see some of your patterns in stores, since your blog was reddish and on blogspot, long before I found you you on youtube. The first time I read your blog, the newest piece you had up was the short forest fairy dress, if tells you anything about how long I've been stalking your work. :) (Not in a creepy way, I promise!)
That dress is GORGEOUS! It really looks like a lot of fun to wear!
That little jumping bit at the end was so cute. Happy to say that I own this pattern and several others. Someday I'll own them all!
I'd love to see more Renaissance patterns in stores and im so glad you put one out! I've been looking around for some for the ren faire in Las Vegas but havent had much luck! Love love love your videos!
Cute!!! Congrats Angela!! I will definitely go out and get this new pattern to go with the other and add to my collection
Absolutely thrilled that your patterns for McCalls have been such a success. I'm a little old for costumes or cosplay (70) but I'm very interested in the history of clothing. I subscribe to your channel and am also a supporter on Patreon. I love the way you described your pattern and why you designed it the way you did. It's beautiful and looks amazing on you. It's a tribute to your talent that McCalls uses your own photos for the envelope fronts. That usually only happens with Parisian designers! You have a unusual colour sense (who'd have thought peach and burgundy could look so fabulous together?) and a brilliant design imagination. I'm sure you will have a unique and exciting career.
Gorgeous work! I hope I'll be able to pick this one up when Joann's has another sale. Historical costuming is also what got me interested in sewing. Really loving the flow to this one
Love! So proud of you! I’m happy for you!
I bought your first pattern and I will buy this one too. It's so pretty! I think it'll be handy to have in anyone's cosplay repertoire. Thanks for sharing and I can't wait to see what's next!
Glad the last one sold so well this one will too I'm sure. Love your videos! can't wait to see what the next pattern will be.
Congratulations on another best seller. Love that the pattern is versatile.
Congrats on your success. This is super inspiring, self-taught and doing so well!
It was interesting hearing your thoughts and choices. I appreciate all of them. Also, congrats!
Wow, this is GORGEOUS! I'll definitely keep an eye out for the pattern in the shops.
Woohoo! Awesome congratulations Angela!!!!
I've been waiting for this one!! Will definitely be buying this one the moment its out here!
All hail the sewing Renaissance!! Good job McCall's for picking this gem of a girl up!!
Just purchased mine! Been waiting for this pattern to hit the stores!
Both of your patterns just arrived in the mail, I'm so incredibly excited to begin sewing
Fantastic dress ! Congratulations !
That is awesome! I will totally pick up this pattern when I get the chance!
Congratulations! You are a great person to work with McCalls.
Congratulations, Angela! This is amazing. Also thrilled to hear about the fantastic sales of the first one. YAY! I still haven't gotten my copy yet. I will though. I think it will make my process of making museum clothing af lot easier. Allthough I will have to cut down on the prettyness a bit compared to your sample dress - allthough i loooove that one!
Congrats on your patterns, they look amazing!
Also yay for outtakes :D
Congrats on your partnership with McCall's. You are super thoughtful in your process. :)
That is so stunning!! I want to make one of my own! ❤️❤️❤️
I just bought this today to make for a good friend of mine. I can wait to see how it comes together.
Congrats to you Angela!! AMAZING I WILL DEF BE PICKING THIS UP SOON
You are totally giving Borgia vibes!
Just picked this pattern up! Really excited to play around with it!
I just devoured this video. Great garment, excellent choice of colors it really compliments your skin tone. I'm so happy that it's selling well! You deserve it! Keep on doing this great job!
you should be so proud of yourself! WOW!! Wonderful work!
The color is amazing!
I just bought your patterns yesterday!! So glad to see a video of you wearing the dress. Will need to watch this again so I can mark the extra boning channels.
