PUNTLAND Hurt locker was shit, I wasted my money on that disc, films like that and zero dark shit is what made me sorce all films on free streaming sites.
My Top TEN:: 1.Black Hawk Down 2.Saving Private Ryan 3.Pearl Harbor(2001) 4.Hurt Locker 5.Zero Dark 30 6.Tears of Sun 7.Behind the enemy lines 8.Top Gun/ American Sniper 9.Inglourious Basterds 10.13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi
SNACHG But these are the best movies for me ..I couldn't help putting them in the list..lol And for correction Inglourious Basterds also a WW2 war movie
Kodddayyy H It didnt stay true to what happened it took a day of fighting not about 10 minutes. They were shot dozens more times in the movie than in the book. As well as the airstrike at the end did not happen in the town it happened about a kilometer from from town while marcus was being taken to the nearby military base. He was shot in the leg by a sniper which caused him to fall down to were the pool of water was (and where he was picked up by the Pashtuns
Would you of considered putting 13 Hours: the secret soldiers of Benghazi on this list? If so, where in the list roughly. It is one of the greatest movies I've ever seen. Wouldn't you agree?
sunny chatterjee Thanks for the message, but please do read my above comment, I didn't forget to mention it, this video was unfortunately released 5 months before American Sniper was even released, thank you
Guys I came across some footage of senior British soldiers who were first hand spectator, collegues to very very young Indians part of British indian army fighting the axis troops in Europe, Africa and finally Asia. These 18-21 year olds gave their life for a cause, they did not understand but what they thought was the true way, peace and good future of this world. I believe we never saw that in any block buster movie , ever. Long live the ☮️ for years to come. Cheerio guys. ☮️
My step dad was actually there in black hawk down. He tells me stories and shows me pictures and medals and stuff. He gave a speech at my school. And he confirmed that the film was very sim alar to what actually happened.
1.hiyena road 2. hurt locker 3. hacksaw ridge 4. pearl harber 5. American sniper. 6. saving private Ryan 7. black hawk down 8. 13 hours. 9. tears of the sun. 10. Fury

Hurt Locker is horrible. Its completely inaccurate to how things in Iraq were. Ask anyone who spent time on patrol there and dealt with IEDS/EOD. I will say I do appreciate what EOD does but the portrayal of them as some super soldier, sniper, special forces, spec op team that runs in while we abandon our vehicles and hide is just ridiculous.
Interesting question... umm, I don't know it's quite tricky because when we do our lists we research into box office revenue, critical acclaim etc. But as a personal opinion it would possibly be around Blood Diamond and Lone Survivor, maybe fourth or fifth, it's very good, Eastwood's direction and Cooper's performance are amazing, so yeah around fourth I would say. Thanks for the comment :)
Smashing UK Productions I appreciate you explaining how you compiled this list, and as you've mentioned in the description, it is personal opinion. Personally I felt Blackhawk Down should have been higher. Lone Survivor and Tears of the Sun were overly dramatic bad films and could have been left off.
Jared Chia You can't be serious about Lone Survivor? It wasn't overly dramatic... Marcus Luttrell (the survivor) said the film captures the intensity of the fight, and who would know better but him?
Brian Johansen In my opinion it was. Along the lines of Behind Enemy Lines or Pearl Harbor. Essentially a puff piece. The overwhelming odds of 200 versus a more accurate 10 Taliban. Better than Green Zone, Blood diamond or Jarhead? I don't think so. But as Smashing UK Productions said I understand how they generated their list so just a difference of opinion
Why does @:22 show a Russian Hind on the American side? and WTF is the Hurt Locker doing at 1? Its not even militarily correct. How about while you are giving out participation awards you give "Top Gun Maverick" the no 1 spot?
You should do TOP 10 | World War I Films. Some great WW1 movies that I know: The Lost Battalion (2001) All the King's Men (1999) Paths of Glory (1957) Lawrance of Arabia (1962) The Lighthorsemen (1987) Sergeant York (1941) Passchendaele (2008) Joyeux Noël (2005) There are probably more if you dig into it. Subscribed! :)
TeamMastaPr2 Thanks for the suggestion, it was initially meant to follow on after this video but unfortunately we had trouble acquiring clips for certain films, however we will do our best to include it soon, thank you!
MAN, you had me until the number 1. While the movie was strong, it's quite unrealistic. Also while it's not a movie, you should watch Generation Kill. It's outstanding, and quite real.
ZERO DARK 30 ONE OF THE BEST FILMS EVER MADE ABOUT WAR IMO....i Love lone survivor more ,wont go into it BUT this is an AMAZING List ....thank you!! i appreciate it so much🙏💖
Older movie that " LIVED" in Vietnam is 84 C MOPIC very tough to watch MOPIC means motion picture, 84 was a number they picked, no they didn't make 83 before this one. Just the name they went with!! If you are looking for STARS in the movie you won't find any. If you are looking for in the bush GRUNT, Look no further!! When I was in Vietnam I didn't water sky down a river or play Russian Roulette and so on!!
I have seen all of these movies you mentioned on the video + American Sniper, Act of Valor. I love Modern Warfare movies but I cant seem to find and watch any good one nowadays.
My God! The Hurt Locker is one of the most banal, cliched, lazy buckets of excrement ever to be put on film. Most of these movies are second rate at best. I don't know how many war films in the criteria have been made, but the ridiculous American propaganda that defines some of these movies makes them stupid and pathetic beyond words - but The Hurt Locker? Jesus. About fifteen minutes in I decided it was one of the lamest scripts ever filmed. James Cameron must have promised an Oscar in the prenup. Good grief!
why 24 pakistani soldiers are never mentioned in BLACK HAWK DOWN or in description who were killed while rescuing american retreating commandos in somalia war.rather ridiculously it was shown the opposite in the movie SHAME.....
The HURT LOCKER!? That is absolutely the WORST war movie ever made! It is by far the most unrealistic and Hollywood pile of crap to ever pretend to be a serious war movie. The rest of the list is pretty spot on though.
Lone survivor nr 4? Really? The fact that it is based on a real story doesn't make it nr4. It has tons of stupid mistakes, logic gaps, canceled gravity etc. The early book described 13 men hunting down the team, then they made them 50, and now around 200...
Imma rly recommend u the movie called The lone survivor... Ive never tought this film gonna be so fucking intesnce n show the real reality of jihad country... :)
The Hurt Locker is totally inaccurate rubbish, unfortunate as I really admire Jeremy Rennet. An overlooked and excellent movie, and accurate, which should be there is The Siege of Jadotville.
I would suggest you guys to watch LOC Kargil. This movie is based on indo-pak war on Himalayan mountains in Kargil sector of L.O.C. Trust me you will enjoy it. Just give it a try.
The only movie of the ten worth watching is Blackhawk Down. Hollywood has made a succession of films that are antiwar films not war films. Hurt Locker has a ridiculous ending they ruined We Were Soldiers with that sort of "big finish". There are two movies that did not make it to the theaters that I would have wanted to see without the encumbrance of Hollywood's pacifist peace making, Thunder Run and the Horse Soldiers both based on researched factual histories. The rest of what I have seen above is bad fiction. To include Lone Survivor.
the Hurt locker is a crap film that has the smallest possible reality of how or what it would be like in the war zone. Also ask any ATO you would never, NEVER! pick up the artillery shells by the command wire!
12 strong American sniper Battle for haditha All superior films to hurt locker. A lot of these pictures are more CIA movies set in war backgrounds, than actual war films.
1. lone survivor 2. Black Hawk Down 3. hurt locker and zero dark thirty and blood diamond should not even be on this list they are good movies but they should be considered for spy movies and maybe drama respectively war movies for me should show how raw and unpredictable the battle field is so people can understand.
The list pretty much sums it up, but i disagree with the number 1 being given to the Hurt Locker, while being a great drama, it lacks the attention to details that other movies on the list have , from jeremy renner rolled up sleeves(wich is not allowed in the army), to the fact that they've been rolling alone in baghdad the entire movie,( wich doesn't seem neither safe nor realistic anyone who's been to baghdad will tell you that you don't leave a compound in a single humvee and 3 man team) , the sniper scene while being entertaining took a lot of liberties with physics and the skills required to perform certain shot by a non-sniper etc etc...like i said while being a nice drama, this movie failed in giving a realistic portrayal of war.
Anyone saying that Hurt Locker is realistic has clearly never been to Iraq, nor worked with EOD before. That movie was terrible and extremely unrealistic.
Your list sucks. The best movies were at the bottom of the list, and the unmentioned films out ranked your top 3. That being said, Hurt Locker was pretty decent, but not number 1 worthy.
Hurt Locker is a top war movie? So a guy who is a bomb disposal expert will take a rifle away from a sniper and start doing his job too? That's realism? smh
American sniper should be on second place and Act of Valor on first place. It definetely is a video just to get views and likes to get some youtube money without getting clear information on all the movies existent.
There is a documentary about iraq or afghanistan, it´s called something like "heaven and hell" or something. if i google i cant find it - anyone knows the name?
I would have replaced "The Great Escape" with "The Longest Day," and certainly "Patton" should have been in the top ten, probably replacing "The Hurt Locker."
Also one to consider would be "Taking Chance" with Kevin Bacon. It is focused on the effect of a soldier KIA and what he goes through on his way back home. Kevin Bacon was the Officer who assisted the soldier to his home town once flew back from overseas.
Home of the brave..stop loss..not sure if kingdom starring jamie foxx was out after or before this video was made...but none the less stoll all honorable mentions
I'm not sure why so many people are complaining that The Hurt Locker is unrealistic. The video isn't "Top 10 Realistic Modern Warfare Films". A war film doesn't have to be realistic to be good. The Hurt Locker is good in other ways, such as its masterful characterization and its dedication to the theme "War is a drug" which is not too common in modern war films. People need to stop judging movies based off mundane things like realism, and instead look at cinematography and story, characters and plot development- all things that should be considered in any list of Top 10 films.
A Tom Eelam agree that enemy at the gates is far better than American sniper, down to the fact that the German sniper is actually an interesting character that you care about, unlike the guy in American sniper who has no dialogue
Check out our new TOP 10 SOVIET WAR FILMS video: ruclips.net/video/sbJ_5MwOhJI/видео.html

I thought "American Sniper" was going to be there :\
+Eduardo Salgado Unfortunately this video was made nearly 5 months prior to 'American Sniper's release
+Eduardo Salgado he forgot to mention it.

Smashing UK Productions I gotta say.... ur choices are good.
ig 13 hours the secret solders of Benghazi could also have been added and the American sniper is also an amazing film
Wow Seriously? The Hurt Locker as number one? One of the most BS movies ever made. Yes good action movies but number one ? Shouldn't even be top 20
Guys I came across some footage of senior British soldiers who were first hand spectator, collegues to very very young Indians part of British indian army fighting the axis troops in Europe, Africa and finally Asia. I love black hawk down, my favourite war movie! Pilot that broke his leg was one of my favourite characters

the hurt locker on the top? seriously?
What the fuck is wrong with these people
where the fuck is Hyena Road?
nvm..it was released after this video.
Deez Nuyz that movie is good it would probs be around 6 if it was made before this video
hurt locker is too overrated imo,
if i made top 3 it would be something like this
3 - lone survivor
2- 13 hours
1- black hawk dawn
Where would you put American Sniper?

How is Act of Valor not even an honorable mention? That is one of the best modern war movies in my opinion.
act of valor. The actors were serving US Naval Seal team 6, and the movie was based on actual missions.
I was looking for this kinds of list...for many days. Thanks

Lone survivor was such a good movie. Sad ending 😩
good list but american sniper and act of valor should've been included atleast in the honorable mentions :(
lone survivor should be ahead of zero dark thirty
zero dark thirty is well not that good
Why does @:22 show a Russian Hind on the American side? and WTF is the Hurt Locker doing at 1? Its not even militarily correct. How about while you are giving out participation awards you give "Top Gun Maverick" the no 1 spot?

it's so realistic and has perfect special effects.

American sniper

All superior films to hurt locker.
A lot of these pictures are more CIA movies set in war backgrounds, than actual war films.

3. hurt locker
and zero dark thirty and blood diamond should not even be on this list they are good movies but they should be considered for spy movies and maybe drama respectively war movies for me should show how raw and unpredictable the battle field is so people can understand.
BEHIND THE ENEMY LINE is the best
The "Hurt Locker" was absolute garbage. Ask ANY Iraq war veteran. Its was full of so many flaws, its laughed at by the veteran community.
13 hours--lone survivor--american sniper--act of valor--blackhawk down ...theres your top 5 lol. Oh yeah and tears of the sun.
Don't get me wrong zero dark thirty was a good movie but very boring and felt uneventful and IMO Act of Valor should have no problem making this list
Your list sucks. The best movies were at the bottom of the list, and the unmentioned films out ranked your top 3. That being said, Hurt Locker was pretty decent, but not number 1 worthy.
Really Hurt Locker??? it makes British SF look shit when we r really not
Why would Private Contractors be doing patrols in the middle of Afgan? Private Contractors are mostly more close portection
yeah yeah i know
Hurt Locker is a top war movie? So a guy who is a bomb disposal expert will take a rifle away from a sniper and start doing his job too? That's realism? smh
American sniper should be on second place and Act of Valor on first place. It definetely is a video just to get views and likes to get some youtube money without getting clear information on all the movies existent.
So glad you included Jarhead. Love that film. btw you got yourself another subscriber :-)
lone survivor ,black hawk down, 13 hours , jarhead 3 , seal team 8 ,seal team 6 ,act of valor, tears of the son, the best war movies.
There is a documentary about iraq or afghanistan, it´s called something like "heaven and hell" or something. if i google i cant find it - anyone knows the name?
Should have been included 13 hours too....
*Spoiler* in lone survivor they could have took them with them till they had got coms up then released them when someone picked them up R.I.P to them
Lone Survivor is a fucking horrible film. Should definitely have not made the cut. Good storyline wasted.
ハートロッカーやジャーヘッド、ブラザーみたいな告発系があるならなぜにリダクテッドやキングタムソルジャー系のは無いんですかね。はい、偏りー
I would have replaced "The Great Escape" with "The Longest Day," and certainly "Patton" should have been in the top ten, probably replacing "The Hurt Locker."
Wait a second, it says three kings was made in 1999. but it also says the story takes place a real life event in 2001. something isn't right here
Fury?
Wrong war
The Hurt Locker was so unrealistic. I'd put Lone Survivor to number one, and keep BHD the same.
lol The Hurt Locker is mostly famous for realism.
FriendlyCroock Not to real EOD engineers. I don't know what the fuck you're talking about.
Lone Survivor didnt use real SEALs to play the main characters. Unrealistic?
***** They were trained by Marcus and over 14 other SEALs. Lol. They also had real SEALs appearing in the movie.
so? Katherine bigalow had real EOD and ,military advisors in Hurt Locker. Lone Survivor is completely historically accurate either.
Most of them are trashes.. If you genuinely interested consider Soviet and German movies.. They gives artistic touch
This comment is for the ADMIN most people come on here to find movies to watch so please don't put spoilers in it lol
+Smashing UK Productions why are all these films American. And not from around the world.
I would put Lone Survivor #1
Also one to consider would be "Taking Chance" with Kevin Bacon. It is focused on the effect of a soldier KIA and what he goes through on his way back home. Kevin Bacon was the Officer who assisted the soldier to his home town once flew back from overseas.
Home of the brave..stop loss..not sure if kingdom starring jamie foxx was out after or before this video was made...but none the less stoll all honorable mentions
Act of Valor!
I know generation kill isn't a film . But to everyone who likes this kind of movies, must watch Generation KILL mini series
Exactly
"all things that should be considered in any list of Top 10 films" .... Mundane thing like realism is one the of the things I suppose ?
Lone Survival should be first and American Sniper should be 2 or even first like WTF!!
Green zone is a fucking terrible movie with little to no action at all. Just a movie star in combat gear bitching about al rawr the whole time...
A Tom Eelam agree that enemy at the gates is far better than American sniper, down to the fact that the German sniper is actually an interesting character that you care about, unlike the guy in American sniper who has no dialogue
Zero dark thirty and green zone can blow me. Where the fuck is American Sniper and Act of Valor?
I was enjoying this video right up until they put hurt locker in first..... Shouldn't even be on the list, lol.
Also called the " 'Murica f*cks up various parts of the world then makes movies about how horrible it is" list
"Private Saving Ryan" that's all time blockbuster number 1️⃣ movie ❤
