Hancock is one of the worst movies I have ever seen, the rest are good though.
*I remember watching Apocalypto long time ago in my teen days... It was such an epic film seeing our protagonist surviving the odds and laying traps in the jungle to ambush the enemies*

Bummer! I've seen them all. Loved 'em... but was hoping for some I hadn't seen yet.
I've watched most of these films except Pathfinder and Templar and enjoyed all of them. You have not missed out any film made after 1990. But some great historical movies were made earlier like Ben Hur, War and Peace, Waterloo, Genghiz Khan and Julius Caesar.
I totally agree with most of these sections. Arn- Knights Templer, is something I really want to watch, I have watched the rest, and 13th Warrior was amazing.. in Gladiator, we all can agree Jaoqin Pheonix deseerved an Oscar then too... I wish you included 'The Mummy' as well, it is a very well done movie.

Like with lotr, first time I watched the extended version I knew I could never go back to watching the version released at theatres.

@@TheOldBlackShuckyDog The original cuts made LOTR seem like a serious sword and iron trilogy, the extended made it into a fucking comedy. The theatrical versions are far better.

Well done for getting "The Kingdom of Heaven" in there, all are great but I think this one has more to be learned from. (apart from being a total spectacular of a movie.

@@rooney0423 lessons were not from History but from the film, factually it was the only film about the Crusades that got both muslims and christians into the same cinema in Beirut to watch it, But then what is history, created reality or actuality. It seems you have one reality on the conflcts of the time, that differes from the producers, it would be interesting to see which is closer to fact, unfortunately most peoples memories dont go back that far.

When you has 'Gladiator' at 3, I was skeptical. But I couldn't agree more with 'Kingdom of Heaven'. The casting and the movie itself was damn near flawless. Great list even though I haven't seen 'Arn' and 'The Physician'.

know this is an old comment, but "the directors cut" of Kingdom of Heaven is a 10 out 10 movie. Literally night and day compared to the theatrical release. Must watch if you havent seen that version.

Lots of great battle scene movies here. But Troy has the best battle scenes ever put on film, with Ironclad a close 2nd, with some added realism of how the ancient weapons actually tore through body parts.
Truly these are one of the best.
For me, Braveheart, Gladiator, The Last Samurai and The Kingdom of Heaven are some of the most beautiful movies ever made. So glad they're high up the list

I admit; I didn't like all the movies you have in there but your number 2 & 1 are actually my top 2 fave movies of all time! 300 is on the list too; its number 17 while Gladiator is number 4. So I love many of your choices!

Legendary is when a lone warrior named Achilles stands at the gates of Troy without an army behind him and Calls out for Hector.. That was one of the most badass scenes in movie history..

That battle between Hector and Achilles was absolutely epic.
@@adrxme3483 Honour meant something back then hey.. They could have lined the walls up with Archers and killed Achilles then and there.. Funny thing is Hector would never have allowed it and would rather have faced his Nemesis on an even playing field. How times have changed..

I remember when I first saw beowolf when a I was like 8. I was scared shitless and tried not watching while my big bro was there. Now im going to rewatch as I love historical movies
The last Samurai: Great movie, but takes place long after the middle ages. 1870's I believe.
