If only I realized then when I was in my twenties how great he really was. It's amazing seeing all these interviews of him a different Richard Nixon .He always had something positive to say about other politicians even if he didn't agree. Not like politics now!!!
I'm saying this as an Iranian-American. He was the only US president wanted what is best for Iran. The rest either weakend our true government under shah or helped the mullas of Islamic republic.
Nixon is one of our best presidents.
but viv is the 3-4th generation of the deep state who took him out
He hated Indian men too, he said they were suckups(google it). Looking at this speech maybe he was right.
Ha , ha, , Satanist 😊😊😊😊😊😊

Most Underappreciated President
Nixon is undoubtedly one of the most underrated Presidents of all time!
Hooray for Nixon 👍
Great president
...plus the most intelligent and most skilled in foreign policy.
Which is why it makes no sense to support Vivek. Dude is a total novice.

Nixon was a great President 🇺🇸💯
First president I voted for
Great man and great president
My President Nixon should have never resigned; he was a patriot through and through
Nixon was a blight upon America. He made a very big blunder when he took us off the gold standard to pay for a war we never should have been in. He was complicit in the Watergate scandal and the person who made overtures to China (our enemy) to industrialize them and bring them into the modern world, even if they were not ready. His gold standard blunder precipitated the financial mess we are in today.
I disagree because if he didn’t resign he would’ve gotten impeached and probably would’ve been removed
@@cellmitsolos9467And charged.
I wish he hadn't resigned too, but I'm not sure he would have had the support to fight the fight needed.
It’s small potatoes compared to now, but he did still fuck up. Had he let the impeachment fully go through, I think he’d have been remembered even worse.
I agree, President Nixon was brilliant geo-political mastermind!

Decades ago I read his book "The Real War". Published 54 years ago and still a relevant and accurate diagnosis of China, with a no nonsense strategy for dealing with it. The book had impressed me on how smart he was.
Underrated and underappreciated president.
I know this is an uncommon thing in the US, but Nixon is the kind of person who in an African country would have been a President for 20 years. After a long time in power, one might have grown tired and weary of the same leader but 1 or 2 years after he is gone, there would be so much to remark about the things he pushed forward during his time in leadership and how life has become drastically different as a result.
As a Zimbabwean, one has not shied away from occasionally ranting about how bad our former President was, but, even in the lack of exciting and glitzy projects shaking the nation, he does have one great legacy and the kind you will see repeat itself in many African countries - the education system was an equaliser that allowed the determined student living deep in the rural areas to go out and shine at a global stage and change their whole community. All the people from here we see in South Africa and the UK where a lot of us are based only got there because of his educational system.
I see Nixon as that kind of a person, except with a lot more to celebrate than our leaders here in Africa. He probably is as iconic as Margaret Thatcher, but a much more critical version who still sought to bring the power to the people and not to big non-governmental & anti-people organisations like we have today.

Nixon was smart and crafty (albeit somewhat rattled because Liberals hated him intensely); plus, he was always a loyal Republican. Fwiw: Trumpaswamy 2024 would work for me.

I agree completely. Nixon loved this country.
I admit I didn’t know how great Nixon was until many years later when I “grew up” and away from liberalism.
Nixon was a good man and also a great president, but was caught up with, as is oftentimes typical, some low-life’s surrounding him. This does happen with other presidents as well. Sad.
Same thing happened with President Ulysses S Grant. Grant himself was above reproach, but his cabinet was corrupt.
Bravo.🎉

Totally agree.
I reviewed his Oxford speech. Vivek is correct 💯
Hear! Hear!
I can't say that I am a big fan of former President Bill Clinton, but he was the first president (after RMN's resignation from office in 1974) who sought out Nixon's advice and was not afraid to publicly say so. Reagan and George H.W. Bush held Mr. Nixon at arm's length, though they very often consulted with him behind the scenes. (Richard Nixon said so himself). Thanks Mr. Clinton, for your good and kind words at RMN's funeral in 1994. You restored some measure of dignity to one of your predecessors.
IT S NOT LATE TO LEARN FROM HIM !
I concur, absolutely..... AMEN 🙏 🇺🇸
he saved my life by ending the war.
Same here.
Agree! I’ve often thought the same things. He was very pro America. He wasn’t perfect, he had many enemies. He got a voters mandate for POTUS and his enemies hated him for it, so they brought him down. Thank you for your words. VERY SAD. If he had been elected POTUS in 1960 instead of JFK, we might not have gotten involved in Viet Nam in the first place.

Richard Nixon loved America first and then he was the only true friend of America's true ally America, the Shah and the people of Iran.

One of the greatest presidents of all time, but one mistake ended his legacy. Thank you for helping him shine again
He created three monster bureaucracies; the EPA, OSHA, and the NHTSA.

He won almost 61% of the popular vote in 1972, he would've gone down as a great president if he had practiced more discretion and not tape everything.
he wasn't doing what the deep state, _dual citizenship_ foreign agents for the nation that attacked the USS Liberty and all them swampy warmongering creatures wanted him to do hence his removal in a less _terminal_ way than the the Kennedy brothers after _they_ first got rid of Spiro Agnew, imposed that Ford dunce. if he had chosen to stay, a _trip to Dallas_ would have been arranged for him and he knew it. 😑
yes. Especially Nixon's heart-warming remarks about Indians. Vivek Ramaswamy is a true patriot. However, I see no reason for Indian-Americans to drink the Trump/Vivek Koolaid.
Nixon was one of the best Presidents of the USA.
Nixon is probably the best president in history when came to foreign policy.
Andrew Jackson is tied for this tittle
Cool haircut.
I'm not even a Republican and Nixon was still the best President America could have ever had, or probably ever will have.
Stood by, listened to and apparently believed Whittaker Chambers when the establishment was trying to destroy him
While Nixon was a brilliant individual and one of the best presidents when it came to understanding China and Russia, he was weak in giving in to the corrupt government because he wanted the presidency so bad.
Two shades of a man that could have been great.
Nixon had Henry Kissinger as Secretary of State, ugh. My selection for most under appreciated is Andrew Jackson; he paid off the Federal debt of $75 million left over from the Revolution.

Mmmmmmmmmm… 😬 You’re definitely right, Vivek, about him being profoundly misunderstood and the most under-appreciated president in history. BUT to call him an America First conservative is a huge stretch. He may have made abortive attempts to reign in the federal bureaucracy during his very short second term (for which the deep state ultimately chucked him from office), but during his first term he took us off the gold standard, he became the first president to impose wage and price controls during peacetime, he never made any attempt to lower taxes, he expanded federal regulations by 121% (LBJ had only expanded them by 19% during his presidency), he appointed a left winger to the Supreme Court who ultimately wrote the majority opinion in Roe v. Wade (Harry Blackmun), and spending on social issues exceeded defense spending for the first time in history during his time in office. Not to mention, Détente was a bust - the Soviet Union did not want to “get along” like Nixon sought; they only understood the language of “either we win and you lose, or the other way around”, as Reagan understood. Frankly, if liberals were honest enough to judge presidents strictly on policy, Richard Nixon would be their favorite Republican president of the twentieth century. From a certain point of view, Nixon was more of a liberal.
He never should have taken us off the gold standard….he has caused today’s inflation and fragile economy and national debt. 👎🏾
