    In response to the "eating healthy is expensive" comment(s), I say this: I can be satisfied all day on $15 or less, whereas my husband can spend $20 at McDonald's and be hungry again later that day. I believe the reason is because healthier foods that sustain the body naturally fill us up due to the nutrients. If you eat a bunch of junk, your body will constantly be searching for more food in order to obtain those nutrients it needs. Give it what it needs in the first place, and avoid this cycle.

    Most of the wild shrimp I buy comes from Argentina, and the remainder comes from the Gulf of Mexico. I do like the taste of the Argentinian shrimp best, however. Red Argentinian shrimp are a bright, attractive red color, even when they're raw, because they live in nutrient-rich all-natural, cold-water habitat. They don't have a fishy smell, but have a fresh, sweet flavor. They live up to their reputation as sweetest shrimp in the world.
    I also only buy wild salmon caught in the cold Pacific waters off the coast of Alaska. I would never buy salmon from the North Atlantic, as it is grown in filthy ocean pens and fed a diet of pellets made of who knows what.

    Bobby, what do you mean when you say, “…can break your DNA”? Thank you for these videos. I have now stopped eating shrimp (the precooked with cocktail sauce in Costco’s refrigerated foods section) because it is probably farm raised; a bummer for me b/c it’s an easy-to-prepare meal for me as I am disabled-I could easily reach it from the fridge and take it to my dining table while in my wheelchair. As for toothpaste, laundry detergents, personal care products, air fresheners, etc., I don’t purchase these from the grocery, big box or pharmacy stores due to all the toxic chemicals they contain. Personally, I use Doterra products (an EO company), but I have heard Branch Basics is a great brand, so is Grove.
    Thanks again for your very helpful videos.

      “Break your DNA” seems dramatic.. and is a very vague statement. Some support to both define and back this claim up would be great

      Obviously I'm not Bobby but I do non-human genetics work. Sucralose breaks down to something called sucralose-6-acetate where you do see genotoxicity aka DNA breaking. When intestinal cells are exposed that damage could kill cells lead to errors which can lead to cancer. Keep in mind that your body has the ability to recognize and deal with damage. The fear is cells not able to function properly can leave holes which may lead to leaky gut, markers associated with inflammation and oxidative stress. This is what that study early in the year showed and there are older studies showing similar occurances in mouse cells.

      @marinashear3818
      Obviously I'm not Bobby nor do I do non-human genetics work. While it may break the DNA, you should know that, as mentioned by a comment earlier, cells do have functions, both intracellularly and extracellularly (inside the cell and outside the cell), that recognizes damages to the DNA and can initiate processes to repair these lesions in the DNA by removing the damaged part and insert a new sequence OR repair the damaged sequence by direct reversal. If all else fails, the cell can undergo apoptosis, essentially suicide to not lead to cancer. If the apoptotic mechanism fails too, there are other cells, notably NK cells (Natural Killer cells) that can recognize stressed and damaged cells and directly kill these cells.
      Although he lays it out dramatic by saying that sucralose "breaks your DNA" it is mostly just a scare tactic, as there are a lot that can cause damage to the DNA, most commonly and notably alcohol (ethanol) and sunlight, but hey, who care about that right as he can't profit from people by stopping them from going in the sun and enjoy a glass of wine. I suggest that you take what Bobby says with a grain of salt and relax a little.

      You should really continue eating that shrimp. Farm raised or not farm raised, it is actually a very good source of protein that's low in calories, fats, and carbs. There may be slightly more nutritional value from animals that have natural diets. But that doesn't mean that they are unhealthy for you. It's like taking a meal that would be a 8 out of 10 and making it a 9. The 8 still isn't bad for you.
      As for Breaks your DNA, it's fear mongering. I laughed a bit at it. Aspartane for example the research on it has shown that it's possible that it's carcinogenic. But they have no proof of it as of now. And that's only if taken in excess over long periods of time. The daily safe amount is 75-100 packets, or 7 to 12 diet sodas daily for a 165lb adult. So unless you are drinking a 12 pack every day, don't even worry about it.

    Hey Bobby! Question, just curious of your opinion in regards to the wild shrimp from the gulf. I've been leery of Gulf seafood since the BP spill and they not only dumped a load of additional chemicals into the water to "disperse" (aka make it sink) the oil instead of properly cleaning up the spill, but now all that sludge lays at the bottom still exposing the water to those chemicals etc. Is it really that good of a choice to choose from this area? Not trying to trash the Gulf area companies in any way. Just an honest concern and question. Thanks!

    6:16 Taurine is an amino acid. Your body makes some taurine on it's own.
    Most natural sources of taurine are in animal products, like beef and dark meat poultry, shellfish, and dairy.
    The kind you get in energy drinks and supplements are MADE in a LAB.
    Go natural and get your taurine. 😅

    Bobby I’m curious about your take on erythritol , lots of recent studies coming out showing it has numerous health effects on your heart. So far many have been able to establish strong correlation, and a couple have followups that establish high suspicion. Removed it from my diet in favor of just stevia and monk fruit products,though kinda sad some products I loved use it.

    • @itshorky4634
      @itshorky4634 10 месяцев назад

      @tm-te9mh Not sure which studies you have been looking at that shows the numerous health effects erythritol has on one's heart. In the report from A. Mazi and L. Stanhope's [1] paper (2023), it was mentioned that there were a lack of studies investigating the effects of chronic consumption of erythritol, thus I quote
      "it is to be expected that clinical dietary intervention studies that have investigated effects of erythritol consumption on risk factors for cardiometabolic diseases are also lacking".
      However, they marked a pilot study containing 24 patients diagnosed with Type II diabetes who were put on a 26 g/day diet of erythritol for 4 weeks. In the results, the patients exhibited a reduction in arterial stiffness and improved endothelial function. An endothelial dysfunction contributes to cardiovascular disease in Type II diabetes. Additionally, a sub-group of 12 subjects with systolic blood pressure >130 mmHg experienced reduced systolic blood pressure. These observationes have also been found in rodent studies and in vitro tests.
      In a paper by Boesten et al. [2, 2015], in a study in endothelial cells it was found that erythritol alone had no effect on the endothelial cells. However, under high glucose conditions, erythritol was able to reverse a number of deleterious
      effects.
      Ultimately, Bernt et al. [3] Erythritol: A Review of Biological and Toxicological Studies (1996) no acute , sub-acute nor chronic toxicity were found on neither mouse nor dogs when fed on a high erytritol diet. The largest issue found in high erythritol consumption was its laxative effect
      [1] Mazi, T.A.; Stanhope, K.L. Erythritol: An In-Depth Discussion of Its Potential to Be a Beneficial Dietary Component. Nutrients 2023, 15, 204. doi.org/10.3390/nu15010204
