  • I decided to teach my younger brother, Matty Cranmer, a couple mid-school BMX tricks that I learned when I was a kid so we went to a local street spot to learn fake wall rides and sprocket chunk to fakes but while we were there Matty did this crazy line with a barspin gap and a tail whip drop in while he had a flat tire!

    I love when Scotty gives trick tips, it give an insight to how good he was. Like you can tell if the body was able the mind still knows exactly how to do these tricks. It’s like getting a little taste to Scotty’s riding again. Love it!

      You’re right, Scott’s even said that himself in the past. In his head he still has it all but his body obviously isn’t up to it.

      That's what makes it 💯 more frustrating also cause u no what your ability was and now what u cannot do because of the accident. That's why I love hearing him talk about it cause he even said in my day in bmx before u guys no what happened and then proceeds to tell us exactly how. Talking about it is so great a lot of people might not want to even be involved in this after something life changing like this. It just shows how metal strong scotty was and that is what u have to have to do the things he has done. And also that he does have this it's not breaking him. He still loves watching Matty or the other kill something. I love how strong u r cause I've been in a similar situation and it took me a long time to come around. So I thank u for the positive way u took things to show others as well that there is always more to live for! Players scotty I hope u keep progressing but in the end the best thing is that I hope u r happy bro!

    I love these kind of videos. The midschool Era was the Era I grew up riding so all of these tricks never left my repertoire. My favorite variation of the sprocket stall has always been the sprocket barspin. Just something about throwing the bars in a sprocket stall always gets me.

      I went through so many chains and sprockets when that trick caught wind. Stole the chain off my Honda Z50 before kink came out with that big fat chain. Still have the chain and mulched volume sprocket on my retired general lee

    I love when Scotty goes back mentally to before the you know what happened so he can give Matty and other riders tips on tricks they want to learn. Even now he has a very keen eye for tricks and can easily watch a bail and identify what wasn't done right and how to fix it. As a pro who no longer rides at the same level he once did, Scotty is still one of the best in the game.

    • @dieseldabz7104
      @dieseldabz7104 2 года назад +1

      Yup there's a reason he hosts XGames,he knows his shit better than most in the industry and stays current with most of the new stuff out as well wether a part or rider.

    • @Honey_Daddy
      @Honey_Daddy 2 года назад

      @@dieseldabz7104 true that. I think the other reason is because he was a top pro who has been in the industry since he was fairly young, I think turned pro at 16, and had his riding cut short tragically, but he and his family have had a lot invested in BMX, they have a lot of love, made lots of friends, he's done lots in the sport and he and his family have given a lot to the sport. Someone so dedicated, his family is so dedicated, everyone knows and loves him, the heartbreak of his accident, even still totally giving back to the sport, the community wants to keep him close, make sure he knows everyone loves him, values him and benefits from his involvement. A good way of doing that is having him commentate, so he gets his yearly xgames invitation that he'd surely be getting if he still rode, and gets to see all his friends, and the people don't lose out on that opportunity to hear from him. Very few people are as continually active in the community after stopping riding, and his love for the sport shines so bright, I wouldn't expect anyone else to commentate rather than him, unless he didn't want to. Scotty is a great example of what BMX pros and other sport pros should be.

  • @click5671
    @click5671 2 года назад +6

    I don't think people realize how great Scotty actually used to be bc he's so humble. He is tied for the MOST X Games medals of all time (at 9medals), Literally Scotty is a living legend!!

    Full credit to Matty, he does not give up and boom, he gets the results! That trike had a cool paint job in the shop. Fortunately my brother isn't into bike riding so I don't have to worry about parts disappearing off my bikes, I just break them because I am a big fat bloke. 🤪 I really should upgrade the shocks on my dirt jumper but I have been riding my Division Brookside BMX and my Mongoose Supergoose (the reproduction 2022 one, not an original 1984 one, that's an awesome bike for cruising.) I am thinking a 22 inch bike for my next BMX, the Division is built strong but I find the bigger geometry on the Supergoose is more comfortable.

I wanna say I saw Mike “Rooftop” Escimilla do one, and I just starting smashing my bike into everything I could get on top of. I called them rock to fakies, though. Have him try to do a seat post stall, look at 7:35 and imagine if he just jumped off the pedals land on the seat post then go back on the pedals and ride away. I’ve see Marty do unbelievable stuff but if he did this I would absolutely be jaw dropped. And if you ask yourself how would that even be possible you can do a spine or where two quarters meet at a 90 idk just some ideas for yall
