In America we get a job demand a comfortable non toxic environment these people are so grateful for a job that provides very little to their families. No proper shoes,eye protection or clothing. What material is that though? Is it glass or metal? It looks like glass but if it is glass, how was it able to be made by a spiral and not break or how does it not chip? I’m confused
Not just safety goggles , they should be provided with masks as well. Working with those broken shards of glasses is very risky , if inhaled it can cause major damage to the lungs .
i agree was looking to see if anyone mentioned silicosis from the glass dust, long term prospects are not good for anyone working there.

I can only imagine how horrible the glass particle carrying dust is completely destroying their lungs when they breath it in all day. 🫣😢
I was told to ALWAYS wear a GOOD protective mask when working with broken glass, broken ceramic, fiberglass, and any silica products that have any dust flying around. Because you might not feel it immediately but the microscope glass is literally like tiny razor blades that destroy your lungs capillaries and nodes. In a few years, even if they stop working, the damage reduces the lungs abilities to actually bring in oxygen to the blood because the nodes responsible for oxygen crossing the air into the blood have been destroyed by the microscope silica blades. This will result in heavy breathing, not being able to breathe, becoming winded/tired after just light movement, like just walking a few steps will make the person tired. All damage that is IRREVERSIBLE.
It hurts just watching them breath in that dust even if it looks like clear air. Very sad.

I still remember a story I read in class 12th about the bangel making industry of Firozabad and how the children born there were all supposed to make bangles generation after generation and due to working under so much heat these Little children sometimes loose there eye sight when young and the irony here is they make colourful bangles for us but there life is without colours without hope 😢

First of all, factory walon par ESI Act k through fine lagana chahiye. Atleast safety mask to provide krna chahiye. Glass dust(silica) se workers ke lungs me fibrosis ho jati hai. Or COPD hone ki chances hoti hai. And finally lungs damage ho jate hai or death ho jati hai.

Turning waste glass to bangles is very cool. However, they need respirators and eye protection. Inhaling those glass particles overtime can cause lung damage.

Am I alone or does this “process” make other people sad too? I understand it’s work and everything that goes with it. But it’s literally just some cheap bit of fun to wear; and so many people are slaving day in day out making them. Can’t we just make our own? Even degradable ones out of branches or reeds? Why an industry of people being paid pennies for A LOT of work.
Again - I understand they are probably very grateful for the work and opportunity to provide for their family.
I am just sad about it somehow and can’t quite put my finger on it.
