- Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky's Hymn of the Cherubim from the Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom (Russian: Литургия святого Иоанна Златоуста,) is one of the most beautiful choral pieces every composed. This powerful Cherubic hymn gives you peace and makes you feel humble.
When one hears the Cherubic Hymn from Tchaikovsky's Liturgy of John Chrysostom it feels like Tchaikovsky has accessed the heavenly music. This hymn may bring tears to your eyes. Let's praise God, who has shared His Grace with Tchaikovsky, who has written this beautiful Orthodox Choral music.
Cherubic Hymn has first been performed in Kiev University Church in 1879. Tchaikovsky writes in one of his letters that when he heard the Liturgy of John Chrysostom prayed in Kiev, it was one of the happiest moments of his musical career.
Tchaikovsky's cherubic hymn is absolutely outsanding piece of Orthodox Christian music. It expresses human desire to be in communion with God. Many people say this hymn directly speaks to their soul. We should also acknowledge that USSR Ministry of Culture Chamber Choir did an outstanding job, presenting this beautiful prayer. I thank them for releasing this prayer to public domain.

The one thing of my 75 years of being that has devastated me so, has been my inability to stop pain and suffering of those I love and strangers passing by with a visage screaming:"Help me!"
I have prayed and I have seen easements and victorious miracles of such things, but not all of them!
Human suffering and pain, whether deserved or not, I personally want all of it to end.
I care to see no more of it. My eyes and mind have been filled with them all. I want to see with eyes anew and a mind refreshed a happiness and joy for all humanity. And may it be eternal, to God I pray. Amen.

Truly inspired, by one who said he was overwhelmed at times by, "melancholy," "uncertainty," and "loneliness.". Only a Saint can write from the throne of God. It's a sad testimony that people must have felt unworthy to invite him to visit. It's one thing for a Roman commander of an occupying army to say to the King of the Jews, "Lord, I am not worthy that you should come under my roof..." and the famous composers fellow citizens. But aren't they saying the same thing? He represented the Divine presence of Archangels in angelic harmony like the Angel in the Bible that was God's presence in the "burning bush" that burned with divine Light and fire. This is why the Israelites way of life was and still is sacred - camping with tents around a campfire. Following a God who preferred a tent to a cathedral. Who asked them to honor the altar with heavenly birds. Who prefers people live within their means when those around them are suffering. And honors those who honor the natural order of nature.
Spring of 2023, I had a vision of Isaiah's eagles 40:31; that was delivered in spirit by a humble monastic standing before a chapel. Eagles represent Archangels. This hymn represents the Divine ascent coming upon the earth soon.
